Well, in spite of what you say, I see nothing wrong with non-standard dogs. Sure, you can't show them, but that doesn't make bad dogs in any way, or even ugly in any way. They still make wonderful companions!

Yes that's true. I just mean that I don't like seeing dogs bred at all unless they're champions.Also, back yard bred dogs tend to have a LOT of health problems. There are enough homeless pets out there. Heck, 200 tons of dead animals from L.A. alone.

Wow, I understand what you mean, considering there are too many homeless pets, but only having champions be bred would make dogs a much more expensive pet to own. The average person couldn't own a dog worth a few grand. Both our chihuahua, pure bred, but not for show,were worth a few hundred dollars, affordable.

Well, I think it will be awhile before our "surplus" supplies of dogs and puppies gets low enough from spaying and neutering. If you do want a pure bred but not champion dog, you can almost always get one from a breed specific rescue or just from your local pound.
