While working on a basement project, I found your channel last night. It would have saved me some headaches had i found it earlier. full of simple practical advice. please keep it up.
One question: where did you get the aluminium screen for the entertainment center doors? is this readily available at local hardware stores?
@pistol213 I found it at Home Depot on an end island display, was in there yesterday looking for plexi-glass and it is still there in my local store. +++Bob
nice vid. you should train the pooch to bring you a hammer or fall asleep while you're working, it'd be funny...could be part of the show. Fido's Fix-It Hour. nice.
It's a shame I didn't find your videos earlier. I've been remodeling my home for about a year and half now, just finishing all the major tasks. I have an entertainment room, I was going to build custom stuff for the TV and components, I feel stupid, I never considered that regular cabinets would work just fine.
Also, don't you want your cold air return low so that it, you know, gets cold air?
Ilove these videos, you're always clear and tothe point. Please keep'em coming. Although i already know most of this stuff, it's great to hear some else's point of view. many occasions I have seen better safer shortcuts to the same end.
Great video Bob. I need to lay some stick on tile in my kitchen floor. I don't supose you can do a video in laying luon and self sticking tiles the right way can you. Also my bathroom floor has weak spots can you do one on fixing that also. Thanks man.
One of the newer tools in my arsenal, find myself using it more and more for difficult situations that always come up in remodeling.+++Bob I will search your tool and check for similarities
Another great vid! I didn't quite understand the bit about the 4" masonite to make a template. I understand the walls aren't perfectly straight, and once you get the masonite shaped like the wall countour, you could use it as a template...but how do you get the masonite shaped liked the wall contour?
The display at Home Depot was from M-D building products, had many different varieties of aluminum sheet goods.I googled their site and they have an 800 # it is 1-800-654-8454 Hope this helps+++Bob

Looked well balanced after you cut out the paneling and changed the gold hardware to a darker color.
Very nice.

Great idea. I am thinking about using two base
cabinets to make a kitchen island. One on
each end with paneling across the back.
Then building shelves on the open side. Maybe solid core door for a counter top.

I agree with you that the video is great, and I would also appreciate any videos on drywalling too.
There are so many cabinets being given away on Craig's List. This video could help us make use of them.
