You are right about the joyous duty of feeling loss when pets go. I'm sure we brought each other joy and irritation but all said, it was a sweet relationship which, like everything else must, came to pass.

Beautiful cat. Sadly, my 18 yo cat died a month ago.  And nice Chinese music.

Part of the duty we have as the masters of pets, is the feelings of sadness when it comes to their time of endings.

They bring to us many things, but they bring a loss to us too when they are gone.
