Mike Einziger wrote this bassline, and most of Dirk's basslines for that matter. Dirk could play like a muthafucka, but he was lazy and basically wouldn't help the band write anything. That's why the band told him to GTFO.

havent someone noticed how in the earlier albums (fungus amungus and S.C.I.E.N.C.E) Brandon sings almost all the songs in exactly the same way...... its like he starts singing a normal volume sometime lower and slowly for two lines and then he explodes and starts screaming and in a very fast away..... im not saying its bad i really love their early stuff but i am just pointing that out..
