  • This part would have made banner seem more human but this actual bit of the movie was pathetic. The 2003 HULK was great and the guy who acted the general had it down pretty good. This movie could have been much better. I wasn't impressed. They made bruce banner seem like a bitch.

  • Unnecessary philosophical exposition. It might have given a bit more detail to what Bruce was feeling, but this scene didn't serve or advance the actual story of the film in ANY way. At most, it ties in to the thematic concerns about Blonsky and the Abomination, but since we never even SAW Bruce and Betty doing their research (except a snippet in the credits), this scene serves little to no purpose. A good cut.

  • Liv and Ed did just fine. Great scene, shame it was cut.

  • Liv Tyler, a bit, um, underwhelming. I loved all the other actor choices.

  • wow they cut a lot of good scenes from the movie.

  • i think this part really enhances his character more and describes to us what he's feeling and going through. it's only like half a minute to a minute long, it really shouldn't make much of a difference in terms of the time length of the movie, so they should've thought twice before cutting this amazing bit out.

  • This was a pretty good scene which did not interfere with the continuity or pace of the story. If anything, it made Bruce Banner a far deeper character in less than a minute of dialogue.

I can pretty much understand why Edward Norton didn't like the finished product very much.

  • Wow!

  • I watched the movie and I don't remember that this part was deleted...

  • @sighisoaraa you probably just remember the beginning. this isn't in there.

  • @pauseless that doesn't make sense and sounds like a script supervisor missed a continuity issue or didn't understand the whole point behind Banner and the Hulk as a sort of WMD for the Ultimates -_-

  • I don't think this fits in the movie at all. It comes out of left field. I'm glad they cut it.

  • dude. this is a great speech! whats the point in makin great scenes if your just gonna delete them?

  • It was probably cut because it doesn't make sense for Bruce Banner to make a "nature knows best" comment when he is aware that the military hired him to replicate the super soldier serum. For added context, in the Ultimates continuity that the movie draws from, Banner 'cures' himself but then concocts a hybrid version of his first serum with Captain America's blood and then uses it on himself again to turn into the Hulk because he feels like a useless joke and failure in the Ultimates.

  • @jchambers83 General Ross says to Blonsky elsewhere in the movie that Bruce didn't know he was trying to make a super soldier serum. idk how to take that in context of everything else they say, but it is there. XD

  • OH. Why on Earth did they cut it?! It's perfectly played, written and directed.

  • I see that I commented on this once before, saying I see why it was cut and I still do. But out of all the deleted scenes, this one and the alternate opening stand out to me as stuff that would've been good to leave in. Norton plays irritated/pissed off really well and this scene wouldn't have dragged anything, contrary to my previous comment. Banner was a little mysterious in this movie, which was cool, but it's cooler to see him open up a little to someone he confides in. Still love the movie.

  • What a waste lol

  • the more I research this film the more I see stuff they should have left in. this scene is a perfect example. This discussion SHOULD have been in to add a thoughtfulness to the characters. The scene looks truncated as it is in the movie.

  • Because it was too bitchy for a setup before a big action scene.

  • wow, this move would have been so much better with this cene. overall when i saw it in cinema it came across as a bit shallow, and for christ's sake this scene only lasts like what, 40 seconds? producers are so weird. no wonder Norton was pissed with them [2]

  • Come on Bruce, you were researching the Gamma Pulse to cure disease and help the suffering. The Hulk was a side effect. I'm with Betty.

  • I understand his point, but I mean, he was quite eager to test the Gamma Pulse on himself. So...

  • wow. really should have kept this in.

  • I like this scene b/c it makes better sense of why bruce & betty were spotted so soon out there - when I watched it the first time I wondered how the ppl got there so fast!

  • Most dleted scenes out of movies are deleted because they suck ass,The Hulk has nothing but great scenes that were deleted, awesome acting,it would of made a hell of a lot more money,as great The Incredible Hulk is,it didnt make as much money as that crappy 2003 Hulk, but the deleted scenes are great in this one

  • Dang, they should have kept this in the movie.....

  • yeah man they should of kept this in no wonder Edward Norton was pissed this is a fucking great scene

  • pls with subs

  • hey look. its uoft. lol.

  • This was so fitting. Why the hell did they take it off !!?

  • @warmerup

Studio exec's wanted to focus on the action. They didn't want the movie to be as dramatic as the first film. Ed Norton was furious.

  • @level22productions yeah i kinda got that impression when i saw it, it was all about showing big hulk throwing things and people around. yawn at those, way too long action scenes. i would have liked it thousand times more with a bit of what was in that scene. if they wanted do make a dumb movie for 12 y.o. boys then fine, but why hire Edward Norton for that? everyone know's he's too good and smart for shallow action only

  • @SkylarPro Well they were confident at first, I would be too if Ed Norton wrote a script for ME, but again it's the bad aftertaste of the first film that was still lingering in their mouths that made them paranoid.

  • @level22productions what do u mean, Norton didn't write a script for Hulk

  • @SkylarPro Yeah he did. He's just not credited for it. When he signed on to do the movie, he wasn't really satisfied by Zak Penn's script. Louis Letterier felt the same way, so he asked Norton to rewrite the movie.

  • @level22productions so why is Zak Penn credited for it? that seems weird if eventually his script wasn't used

  • @SkylarPro Well he came up with the story. Plus there were probably some legal issues, contracts, etc.

  • I love 'em both (and tim roth too :D) to death ♥

  • Dammit, they should've kept this in

  • thanx!!!

  • y the hell did they delete this scene? pretty cool if you ask me.

  • Marvel deleted it because they wanted move on to the action. Norton was pissed. I like this scene as well. It gave Liv Tyler more dialogue.

  • i honestly loved the scene when he was swooning as he stared at her from a far. she looked beautiful and he looked so cute swooning.

  • This is such a good scene between Bruce and Betty, realizing their connection together despite the monster inside Bruce and Betty's rigid father.

  • That's really beautiful music in this deleted scene.

  • My two, small dogs and I were in the background for this scene. I am sad that it did not make it into the movie :( It was a lot of work LOL!

  • Why cut this? It's thought provoking, and it's only 30 second long speech. The Studio's are really trying to dumb us all down. No wonder Norton was pissed.

  • I don't think this is a deleted scene, because I remember this scene.

  • Yeah me too.

  • Okay, something about this is different, scratch my first comment. :3

  • i don't understand. how come this movie was a hit when the one with eric bana flopped?

  • I guess because this one was more action than the last.

  • The reason it's better is not only the action is because it makes more cents, in the 2003 version I didn't understand it period, the villian, the Hulk, and the Plot itself.

  • yep, thats how Ang Lee did the film. all it was really meant to be was a psychology based movie.

  • well that was kinda gay when he was jumping fucking 300 miles

  • Comment removed

  • wow....why'd they delete that scene?!!?

  • I can't believe this got cut out.

    Kristine

  • Heard the cut over 70 minutes out. I hope someday they will release a directors cut.

  • thats why i haven't seen this movie since theaters

  • what this hulk did that ang lee's hulk didn't was focus on bruce banner and not hulk.

  • As much as I enjoy the Hulk's action sequences, I also like taking the time to see Bruce's life dealing with his love for Betty, his frustration of General Ross' plan, and his search for a cure.

  • you know the gamma testing exposure makes sense but the acidental gamma bomb was also the creation of the hulk too, which one do you guys prefer anyway the testing exposure or the gamma bomb accident

  • I thought that the General lied to banner about what they were doing in the beginning, and here banner is saying "at least he was honest" ty for the deleted scene

  • hence it got cut.

  • Wow, he's really going deep with his speculations. Another great scene, which should definetly have been in the movie.

  • I can see why they cut it. Kinda drags. Letterrier said it best when he talked about how the first cut seemed, "Stop and go, stop and go..." and wanted it to have brains without having to slow down when Hulk wasn't on.

  • Like alot of the previous deleted scenes, this gives more depth to the characters and really shows how Bruce Banners perceives the hulk. If this was shown in theatres and perhaps more scenes that Edward Norton wrote, I think that it would have made the film a whole lot better as character development was sort of lacking in the theatrical version of the movie.

  • exactly alot of people kept saying they had one dimensional characters now after seeing the deleted scenes they are taking it back

  • What possessed the editors to delete a good portion of the movie? This really helps explain what Bruce was going through. The movie was a lot of fun, but I was beginning to think that Bruce was mute. Most of Edward's dialogue was cut out. Edward is always brilliant when speaking in movies. Can't wait to get the DVD. :-) Thanks for posting!

  • also him being a mute isn't a bad thing it just shows the audience without words saying what has happened to him is horrible and it's going to stay that way it's subtle but i admit edward is an excellent actor it would have been nice to hear him speak more

  • What's a mute and who are u talkin about?

  • a mute is sum1 who wont or cant talk am just saying that if the hulk wud talk more we as the audience cud get more of an idea of how and who exactly is the hulk

  • Bruce's last line before the troops are coming really sounds like what Edward would say in real life...

  • exactly edward did say the character was much like him

  • Why did they delete this scene? Norton sounds more like a pofessional sciencist here than anywhere else in the whole movie.

  • exactly also the chemistry he has with liv tyler is killing me i would definitely support them as a couple
