as a student, i love when the instructor allows you to improvise on the great stuff he/she does. but, to be in the front row and always doing something different than the combos has to be so annoying and distracting, especially if the person messes up, and has to constantly stop, start again. you're right, tho. the best instructors inspire people who really want to be good, better than good, at step. wish i could take you guys' classes...sigh.**
OK, I have to ask. What's the deal with that chick? Anybody doing so many variations on your choreography should step back a few rows, so as not to distract the others. From the video, it looks like she's right next to you. Gimme a break!
She does that all the time. She's been asked to move and doesn't. Her excuse is she can't see. What's to see when she does her own thing anyways!! The woman behind her complained about her and just doesn't like her. You should have seen the look on her face!
There's one in every clase (rolleyes). If you're teaching you can see them out of the corner of your eye and it can make you crazy. If your taking the class and they are in your line of sight it drives you nuts! Good instructors attract them so it's really flattering in an indirect and annoying kinda way...
The front row doesnt want to be us, they want to be better than us. Here's my solution... a few minutes into your class do an over the top then basic steps facing the back of the room. Then walk back there and teach the rest of the class with the back of the room as the new front!!! (just drives those girls crazy when the mirror is behind them and they cant stare at theirself the whole time.)
