I used to play this when I was a teen-in the 70's, and it was alot different. The basics are the same, but the frantic slapping on the table and cheering was different, it was slower in cadence. 1) every1 picks a motion and shows every1 so every1 knows, say scratching your armpit

2) a person starts and yells WHATS THE NAME OF THE GAME??? every1 else says THUMPER, and the first person yells AND WHY ARE WE PLAYING??? every1 else says TO GET FUCKED UP

3) the person that started yelling does his motion and sum1 elses, lets say the scratching the armpit motion

4) whoever did the scratching armpit motion must do their motion and sum1 else immediatly or you have to drink
