My older brother had this 45. I remember listening to this when I was about 4yrs. old.

Exports running a close second. I have my 45 but just downloaded off Amazon.com.

It's amazing how many cheesey surf records were made when this one stands

so far out in front.

Actually, Manuel's name is spelled coreectly. It's Rodrigues. He is Portuguese.

I heard this song for the first time on American Bandstand's Rate-A-Record portion of the show. I ran out and bought it and still have it. I opened all my shows and dances at various car events around eastern Iowa for years with REV UP. It got everybody's attention. Best rod and durf instro ever recorded. Even Wing Callahan of the Hot Rod Radio weekly radiio show had never heard of it until I turned him on to it. He said "You got to be kiddin me". I sent a tape of it to him. He plays it often.
