  • you guys calm down, super cars tend to use big engines for torqu and longevity. a hartly h1 v8 might produce 400horse power but only out puts 245 ftlbs of torqu, with a engine reving up so high you will be hard pressed to get 60k miles out of this engine in a average car. a nice 6.4l hemi from chrysler puts out 470 hp and about the same torqu, hydrolic lifters and a self tentioning timeing chane make thease engines very low maintanance and well manerd for comuteing.

  • What a Beast!! Would Love To Drop One Into A Little Suzuki Cappuccino Or MX5 Or My Volvo 340 If I Had The Money

  • DUDE! i just came !

  • What torque does it put out, power is useless unless it has torque behind it.

  • was that vtec i heard at :24?

  • This sounds like a trueno engine on high revs....

  • hi could someone please explain to me what determines an engine's rev limit ?

  • @chibaproductions the rev limit is determined by what the components can take, such as connecting rods and valves (so higher rev limit = more $), and the breathing efficiency of the engine at high rpm (this is why power drops towards the rev limit, because the engine can't suck air in well enough)

  • @raicuandi also gota keep in mind the cams if they can keep making power that the higher rpm's

  • why would anyone wanna boy race up a shitty little engine like that, why not just by a fuck off v8? i mean a 1.4, its pathetic lol

  • @andybaby70 haha it weighs a quarter of an aluminium v8 so you can take the extra 80 hp you get from the v8 and throw them out the window along with your vehicles handling

  • @Mooseboy240 if they are so good why dont all super cars have 1.4 engines then? hahaha, there is only so much you can get from a small engine, thats why manufactures make, ummm, 'bigger ones!!!' show me any car with a 1.4 engine thats as quick as a zonda, mclaren, ferrari etc... even turbo charged imprezas or evos generally havent got the same grunt as a big v8 or v10, 1.4..... pathetic waste of time, my dad got one of those in his polo lol, youd be lucky to get 80 hp from a 1.4 full stop hahaha

  • @andybaby70 actually, your a dumbass. the reason super-cars have 5+l engines is simple, longevity. a big, heavy v8/10/12 will make BOATS of power, GOBS of torque, and not have to work hard to do it. but the builders also dump WADS of CASH into designing springs, frames, etc. And, a supercar and last for 50k miles, and still run like a top. this engine is made to toss into an ultralight frame, allow the springs to be tuneable by being light. what you trade off is longevity. high revs=high stress

  • @Mooseboy240 aaahhhhh i see, i had a feeling you were a kid with that comment, so just checked out your profile and you are a mear child that knows nothing about engine power, its simple mate, big engine, more power, more torque, no wonder you come out with guf like that, you can probably only afford a piddly 1.4 lol

  • @andybaby70 I'm 21 and I clearly know more about engines than you yeah this is an old profile I was like 16 when I made it congrats you caught me. There is much more to power than how many liters your engine has and that 1.4 aint cheap either you know whats cheap a chevy 350 cheap, heavy, and outdated if you come at me again bring some knowledge

  • @Mooseboy240 rubbish, why dont you see super cars with shitty little engines then? why do they all use huge engines to extract more horse power, its a simple maths mate BIGGER ENGINE MORE POWER AND TORQUE, regardless of what you can get out of a small engine, do the same tweaks to a big engine and youd get even more and im not talking about big under powered american engines, im talking about the big european engines that can produce 100 break per litre, and thats from the factory

  • @andybaby70 the reason super cars use big engines is it's cheaper to get a 5 or 6 liter to put out 500hp same reason factory cars don't come with coilovers or performance exhausts or standalone engine management systems it isn't cost effective to build small engine with racing parts but if you put in time and effort you can easily make a car thats lighter faster and quicker through the corners than the manufactures of "supercars"

  • @andybaby70 if you think this is a "shitty little engine" then you have no idea what it was built for, this is a racing engine. not a car engine. This engine is a custom made engine, which doesn't come cheap (£14k), It weighs only 65KG and produces nearly 200bhp? A V8 to produce that would weigh a ton compared to this. Infact, compare it to a Hartley or a Radical Performance Engine V8, weighs only 88 KG yet can produce 500-600BHP?

  • this is what my celica had i got an engine swap (:

  • i want to see this with a turbo so badly... a turbo 4cyl revving to 11grand? what the shit right?

  • but that on my scooter

  • 0:22 to 0:34 it became a beast.... very cool!

  • What transmission is recomended? Do T-5's behave propperly at 11,000 rpm???

  • @captainpegs07 The TKO600 is a much stronger transmission, I haven't driven anything with a TKO600 yet but I'm pretty sure the shifts are smoother then the t5

  • @Blackinterceptor999

The tko takes a bit of time to break in. The shifts feel like crap untill the blocking rings and synchros have worn in. If you ever get one, Id suggest getting the pro 5.0 shifter. It really makes a day and night differences in the feel of the shifts.

  • @Blackinterceptor999 Why in the hell would anyone put a much heavier tko in when the STOCK t-5 is more than capable of the 225ft/lbs of torque that engine puts out? A G-Force t-5 dogbox is what it should have.

  • must... add.... turbo....

  • moar!

  • I can't help but think my 84 GTi would love this motor.

  • haha just what i was thinking
