  • Awesome road trip mate and what an amazing place that is, very inspiring, nice to see something like that is being done to preserve some of the early computers. :)

  • @dancentral Very much so matey... myself and Steve have been asked to help out with the project so it'll be great to follow it through from the very early stages that its at now all the way to the church being fully renevated and all setup for the General Public as a computer museum :)

  • Excellent roadtrip!!! Love the scenery from the UK! Wow.. there's lotsa speed traps.. no wonder you guys are driving pretty slowly :D

  • @PhatPhunk lol - yes they seem to be everywhere matey... always under the disguise of being there for safety... the majority though seem to be there only for making them money...

  • What an awesome looking place.

I think you'd enjoy Bletchly Park in Milton Keynes, if you ever get the opportunity to visit the place. It's quite similar.

  • @SteveBenway Yes ive heard about Bletchly Park - definately sounds like a worthwhile visit... now that would be a long trip... lol

  • Good times, love that song playing in the background too. I'm going to burn it to play in the car.

  • @MPK112233 Cheers matey - cant beat a bit of Satriani :)

  • cool looking place glad you guys enjoyed it

  • @brettscotland Thanks matey - yes it was a great day out :D

  • Wow what a place, glad you enjoyed it :)

  • @Lorfarius Cheers matey - its going to be awesome helping them out with the project and seeing it all come together in the converted church... :)

  • Nice Joe Satriani selection!

  • @MetalJesusRocks Cheers matey - he's one of my favourite guitarists next to Jimi Hendrix... I'd love to get to see him live one day :)

  • I've been to one of these types of display over at Blecthly Park for a college trip 2 years ago. We even had this part in there where we were actually able to play on the machines as well which was pretty cool.

  • @wrestletube1 Yes thats what will happen when they get all setup in the museum - this was just a behind the scenes look at what they've got in their storage facility - kind of a sneak peak :)

  • Doh, just noticed, Satriani

  • @cillablackslingback Yes both tunes were Joe Satriani :)

  • Whats the tune Marcus?

  • What you need to plan next is a trip to the Bradford Imax, they have a rather large Retro computing exhibition going on (which is free to goto, it's just in the main entrance, you don't need to see a film even), with about 8 arcade cabs and several home computers to play, the home computers are free the cabs are 10p a go Defender, Galaxians, Gauntlet, Space Invaders, SF2, Donkey Kong etc... I did a bit of sneeky filming there once :P

  • @atombat Now that does sound good matey... :)

  • This place reminds me of Frontier land at Morcombe (before it closed) with all the lovely arcades, cool looking electronics, and the really cool and old looking mechanical stuff. :P

  • @atombat Yes it really is a treasure trove for computing... some of the equipment they've managed to get hold of is incredible and this is only really the start of things :)

  • So much technology that was new to me once. When I was in High School taking Data Processing our computer was a massive thing that took punch cards. 'Do not fold, staple, or mutilate.' Or words to that effect. lol.

No Apple III though. I used to have one, and was looking to see it I could spot one.

    STAY AWESOME mate! :)

  • @cessnaace Im sure they'll be adding lots lots more Mark - they are in the very early stages and what they've managed to amass so far is incredible... I am trying to get some contacts at IBM and Siemens where I used to work so hopefully that will be helpful to them with their project for getting information about systems and maybe help them acquire some machines as well :)

  • @XFile2708 Their collection is already massive. How they got all those large computers and punch card machines moved must have required alot of muscle-power. I want that Vectrex! lol! :)

    STAY AWESOME mate! :)

  • Man that was cool. So that's a personal collection museum?

  • @BuckskinGames Yes Mike and Sandra have been collecting those over a 4 year period - what you see there is all in a storage unit and what they're aiming to do is convert an old church into a computer museum over the next 2 years... it'll be by far the biggest and most comprehensive computer museum worldwide...

  • But the real question is... can any of those computer play Crysis on extra high? LOL awesome collection man I would have loved to be there too!

  • @MN12BIRD lol - well I think they cover from the 1930s to the mid 1980s so probably not... you'd have definately been in your element there though matey :D

  • That vectrex needs dusting

  • @Gamer1867 lol - well its all housed in a storage facility and they'd spent the last week getting everything displayed and viewable for us... trying to dust everything would have been an absoloute nightmare at this early stage... lol

  • Great road trip & look at the vintage computers Marcus :)

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @thomas3120 No problem matey - glad you enjoyed :)

  • Looks like an interesting place, as a kid I used BBC micros all the time at school. Remember using them at lunchbreaks to access teletext lol (that was an add-on of course!).

  • @ianwilson1978 Blimey yes that takes me back matey - id forgotten about the teletext on them... lol We had the BBCs and a RM Nimbus network... :D

  • Looks like the old IT store cupboard at my old school mate ha ha!

Was there any consoles or home computers? Hope you all had a good day out guys ;o)

  • @interghost There was a couple of home computers (an old Amstrad 9512), an oldish PC (not sure on spec) - the time period they have at the moment is 1930s through to the mid 80s... im not sure if they're wanting to go any later...

  • @XFile2708 oh right cool stuff mate. Ive subbed the other guys too. Nice idea for a video ;o)

  • @xTHExSTIGx Yes it was a great day matey - interesting to see what Mike and Sandra are doing with the project and a great excuse for us all to meet up :)

  • Great video! England FTW :)

  • @misterintellivision Well they stood no chance of 'the win' in the World Cup... lol

  • awesome man i hope you do a video on this when the project is all done cheers and a huge thumbs up !!!!!!

  • @elcarohw Cheers matey - myself and Steve have offered to help them where we can so yes it'd be great to follow and maybe video some of the progress as its happening :)

  • Looked like a very fun day.

  • @Ozer8610 Yes it was a lot of fun meeting up with the others and a really interesting place to visit :)

  • i think you should put an annotation at 8:00 since its only black unti lthe end :P great collection indeed they had, and i would be awesome if you guys could have some kinda "panel" where you discuss two or three games and what you think about them:P

  • @Nissehultan done :D

Next time we get together we'll look to do a game/system review if we get chance :)

  • Aha, nice alternative way to present it :o)

  • @RetroGamerVX Cheers matey :D
