  • "Mr. Grace! The Queen's here!"

    "Bloody hell!"

  • Tebbs' shining moment was in "Do You Take This Man?"

  • I like the Subtitles! They actually work!!

  • 5:52 now that's a man who knows how to make an entrance!

  • I love this show.

  • "By the way as you all know mr grainger has retired so mr tebbs will taking over as head of the menswear"

  • I absolutely HATE mr tebbs!!!

  • @Bombers299 He was annoying but he eventually got the boot.

  • The thing is im 13 and this is my favourite show :D

Its sad that I cant enjoy shows from my age..

Thank God for pure classics like this!!

  • @Mkskes15 I got into AYBS When I was 11. I have a autographed picture of Mr inman my sister was nice enough to ask for 2 of, she got the hug goodbye when she came to our local PBS station to a meet and greet lunchon with him, they thought she was a teenager so was let in for free.

  • Hmm, at 23:35 does one of the display girls say "Yes, Mr Grace."?

    That's Rumbold...

  • @msunami She sure does.

  • @msunami Thats what I thought, heard it, immediately paused and went down to comments to see if anyone else thought that.

  • I'm enjoying these videos very much.

  • I feel sorry for the actors that were the fill ins for Grainger. It would be exciting to be taking a chance at playing a role that someone else fitted. It would also be very agrivating knowing you could never fill the shoes 100% while giving all you could. Knowing the previous actor passed away would make it more difficult trying to dedicate your role to him.

  • I agree in the case of Tebbs as the scripts were already written for Grainger before Arthur Brough died and, apart from the introduction scene in this episode, they were unchanged, so the new actor really was speaking lines meant for another. The characters therefore were identical. Goldberg was the best of the replacements as his episodes were written especially for him, and the writers gave him a different personality. It's a shame Alfie Bass left, as Klein and Grossman were pointless.

  • @ 21:07 Mr. Lucas in the Tim Tebow prayer stance!

  • @13:16 the mic dips down a bit over Captain peacock's head!

  • g8 comedy from the golden age of the 1970s

  • Jolly good bloody show chap!!!!!

  • Mr. Lucas and Mr. Humphries are the BEST!

  • Mr. Lucas and Mr. Humphries are the best!

  • how can you dislike any episode?

  • the only exception to this hard and fast rule is Mr. Lucas. he tends towards the more american sense of humorr. thus, he is the LEAST funny on this otherwise excellent show

  • @sillybabybunnies your quite RUDE and arrogant!

  • @MissNymphetamine80

no, I am NOT rude and arrogant. I am simply expressing my views on this fine series in a very polite manner

  • @sillybabybunnies i wasnt talking bout what you said bout the series! i was talking bout what you said bout AMERICANS! ya were!

  • @MissNymphetamine80

in that case I stand corrected

  • @MissNymphetamine80 @sillybabybunnies OK, you two...don't make me come in there!!

    Enjoy the show.

  • this episode demonstrates the sheer superiority of British humorr over the lowly american dead sense of humore... the people here do not generally derive personal pleasure from the dehumanization of the others... such class and good taste, and all the while making excellent jokes and witty observations. YAY England! WOOO - HOOOO!!!!

  • @sillybabybunnies Pussy jokes and gay stereotypes. Yep, REALLY superior.........

  • @gaspode18

    yes. quite!

  • @sillybabybunnies You KNOW it!!!

  • around 2:20 you can see them having set problems with the Elevator! LOL Love it! That stuff always happened on good tv and not cover it up. Shows they always shot in one take. True professionals.

  • @TheCitizenMcFadden (whispers) The elevator AKA lift NEVER worked!! It wasn't designed to...all an illusion of the magic of television.

  • It's ok

  • In the library with tears running down my face, trying to muffle my laughter. Maybe shouldn't watch this stuff in public...

  • "Commoners Ms. Brahms, but not dead common commoners" lol..love that line Mrs. Slocombe is awesome

  • At 23:30 did she answer him with "Yes, Mr. Grace."?

  • i love this show i watched it wen i was just a gril in scotland...

  • Mr Tebbs looks like one of those little people on The Wizard of Oz.

  • At 10:42 the posh lady says to Miss Brahm's something like "how dare you try to imitate me", then continues "you chicken-for-mound-er". What? I can't figure it out. What is she saying?

  • @tubiema "Cheeky little bounder." Un-ladylike, no class, irreverent, disprespectful.

  • @C5Rigzz Thank you!

  • What made the writers think there needed to be a 3rd lady on the lady's counter for the rehearsal for the queen's visit?

  • @stargazer5598 Maybe because HRH was going on a shopping tear?

  • At 2:25 you see some one accidentally opening and closing the lift doors

  • The lift doors also mess up around 2:20

  • lol! Captain Peacock and Mrs. Slocombe play the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh well!

  • Nothing like a good old British comedy !!!

  • And yes mr humphries is indeed EPIC :)

  • What does Humphries mean whe he say´s " If your gonna take the mickey, I´m sorry I asked."

    Thanks

  • did Mr. Harmon sing "hold my hand, I'm a stranger"?

  • I liked Mr Mash and Mr Granger ( I can't spell it!)

  • All four working in the same department have gone & Trevor being the latest to go.

  • All four in the same department have gone Trevor being the latest to go.

  • 13:29 to 13:44 Trevor Bannister at his best . RIP Trevor.

  • @mubd1234 ??

  • @mtwini09 ...for Captain Peacock and his laryngitis, which mysteriously disappears over the course of the day

  • @mubd1234

I was convinced that his medicine would make HIM knock a flower pot down on the queen - or that he would have a spasm and slap the queen when he was greeting her or something. I feel the script writers missed out on a good joke there.

  • @mtwini09 they mean the "effect" they used for captain peacock at 2:32 ect

  • @mubd1234

    marron

  • @mubd1234 it's prolly better than yours

  • @mubd1234 It was 1978! What were you expecting? Melodyne Uno?

  • If this was Ben-Hur Mrs. Slocombe would have been taken to solitary confinement...

  • LOL @ 4:28 the lift doors open a little bit then close twice

  • Lol love this episode. Thanks for posting!
