  • They have to cut reiners and junpers tails so that when the reiner slides they don't step on their tail and the same when the jumpers leave the ground to take off they don't step on it!! All you "natural horse people" don't get what it takes to do this stuff!

  • because they step on their tails if they are too long in reining when they back up- they have to be cut.

  • the first time i saw fake tails i just thought they were freaking long natural tails... then one of them fell off in the middle of the show. XD i just don't get it.

  • Sometimes if it grows natural it will get too long and they rip it out on the backup. I had that happen to me once and I've kept them trimmed ever since.

  • Its a fake tail;)

  • Woow just beautifull!

  • Anybody who can do this is is truly a great horse person. This takes hours and years to get horses to do this kind of stuff. I admire these people in hope to eventually be able to it with my horse. Stacy Westfall is awesome though all the stuff done in this video she does bareback and bridless!!!!

  • That is one of the most amazing/beautiful things I have EVER seen.

  • very nice! my reiner and i will have to try this, we go bareback and bridle-less but thats at home (and we all know that makes a huge difference)

  • Awesome run! great job!

  • yeah good looking horse did a good job in the class.

But the skipping did kinda ruin it.

  • Horrible horrible video, the skipping ruined it. Love the horse though!

  • this is probely one of the best horses iv seen in a long time ,,very good

  • I think it was a great ride, but ( if i may say so) it was a great shame that the horse changed lope on one run down... real shame... But i admire tha americans, (for all you Americans out there) you have such great horse material, and oh the riders! the trainers, they`re soo GOOD! I totally admire that...

  • where did she switch leads when she wasn't supposed to? What time?

  • At about 02:32...

  • it doesnt really matter, i dont think they count off for it unless its in the circles, please correct me if im wrong thought...

  • I think they do count it off, since the horse is acting on it`s own, but i think they only take like -1...

  • No they dont, its only in the circles, on a straight it doesnt matter, alot of people do it on purpose cause their horse will stop harder on a certin lead

  • i think that it matters, but not in freestyle.

i know that for the rundowns in patterns you get like a 1/2 off if you arent on the correct lead when you turn the corner or whatever.

like if you are on the wrong lead when you are running straight again to your stop.

at least thats what my trainer said...

  • I looked at the horse's tail a lot, and when he slid and stopped, then backed up, it looked a lot like he was going to step on his own tail..

  • sure it would

  • if the horse had a bridle it would still be a good horse. in the spins, it does not even think about moving its pivot foot. and in the stops it doesnt push its head down like if there was a bit there it would be pusing against it. this is an amazing horse bridleless or not...

  • awesome, a worth while and benificial type of horsemanship. reining horses beat all!

  • Thanks-you inspired me-this horse looks so calm, relaxed and happy to be doing his job-that's what horsemanship is all about.

  • And I thought cowboys were lousy riders! English Riding is so complicated with all their "gaits" but however, they crowd is more controlled. You are not allowed to make a noise while the event is taking place until the rider has finished the course. Strict isn't it? Now, I know.... cowboys rule too!!! (sometimes).

  • Cowboys rule.. sometimes.. but cowgirls rule all the time ;D

  • haha

  • Got that right! ;P

  • can you reload this video... it slips and I would love to know the music!!!

    LYNZ

  • The song is You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban. :)

Beautiful performance, what a well trained and willing horse!
