the remix of this track on this video is excellent. the DJ has done an amazing job on it!. massive thumbs up from me. electro at its finest. all involved in the video - bboys, DJ are legends!. pity so called hip hop has degenerated to the shit it is today thanks to shitty music stations and record labels making it a black gangsta ghetto thing. this is hip hop in its purest, original, finest form. puerto ricans were the pioneers along with the blacks but then were pushed out and now we have shit!
where the fuck have these times gone to? Our communities are no longer how we saw on this clip. Today the transformation/comparison of this something to this video would be a fucking weezy concert! WTF
but have you notice there was hardy no fat people in the 80s,we actually went out and did things not just sit at home and play video games and virual breakdance battle on x-box
my dad told me that when he was a kid he went on a school trip to new york to see the breakers perform, he siad that they were one of his top influences wen it came to breakdancing, beecause he did to wen he was my age
@WyldOrbit why the hate? its just my opinion. @stinger55555 okay so my comment was a mistake i just said that cause this was a mainstream vid but some of us do go mainstream the media just sucks it out for what its worth they are true breakers a looked them up. them and rock steady got exploited. but thanks for your opinion. if bboying goes big again lets let every bboy get a shot not just two crews. i wish bboying in america was like korea and was widely looked at but still respected not for $
@mrbboyninja actually this was not a mainstream video. it was a one off show whereby nycb and their manager were trying to get it into a series...but the tv companies would not agree so it ended up being a one off show - a collector's item. nycb and rsc did monopolise the bboying scene to an extent in this time epriod but without them it would not have gone global as it did then and we would not be talking about it now. u also have to remember that they were street kids and this was their tbc
Respond to this video. only means to make some decent money. however they were ripped off, especially rsc. so its easy to cast your opinion now but u were not there in the 80s.these guys were the pioneers and if it was not for them i would not have developed any interest in the bboy scene along with millions of others. they deserve to earn as much as they can from this. they brought this art form to the world. dont forget that . easy to preach now but i dont think u fully comprehend their impact
All these comments hating on this video! Why? I can appreciate these guys for their. Talents at the time! Yeah, there were others who layed the groundwork for breaking! But don't hate! Just appreciate!!!
Powerful Pexster pretty much invented powermoves and contributed a ton of other things to the scenes like floats and suicides. Still think he's not a "real breaker"?
Why old school breakdance looks so different from nowadays? Even If I try their movements I can't make it look oldschool. I'd like to make my bboying style some kinda retro but with new school moves. That would be interesting.
@UnknownSect333 You don't know anything. This is maybe because you're not a Bboy. But I can tell you that behind bboying there's a huge culture and lifestyle. Watch "Planet B-boy".
@SuperNeowiz Sorry about that. When I watch something like this, and then current breakdancing, the current one looks like a bunch of guys showing off how deformed they can make their bodies look.
@burritonobeans they were called HIND suits (believe HIND was the company name back then). they were simply early versions of compression suits for gymnasics and running that nearly ALL PRO ATHELETES now wear made by dozens of companies like UnderArmor, Nike, Addidas, etc. i have one made by Reebok. NYC-B was one of the early pioneers of breaking by combining "atheletics" with dance. aka "power moves".
mr. wave is awesome i thik this where michael jackson got the mooon walk mr.wave just glidez hes nice and really looks as if hiis body is moving on its own
duuuuude ,,this is soo awesone ,really that was sick.It will be the 8th wonder of the world if you see any of this nowadays with all these fake bastards in the music industry.MTV would show this back then every day,and now..bullshit
yo dis the oldschool yo man this ois myo man this is old skool, this brings me mack to livin on the black yo knowmsayn, i mean i guess it as prety cool livin up there in harlem in the 70s n 80s knowmsayn but it was fuckin hard man shit got real rough, knowmsayn?
Another cool clip is called: snack bar graffiti at the plainfield....check it out. It shows a closed down drive in theater snack bar covered in beautiful graffiti.
@MrShortee lol, wut chu know 'bout dat? Bowie was trying to dress up with ambiguous sexuality in mind. He was soooooooo gay. And this break dancing is dope. Real old school shit.
step off, where were you back then? these guys could be bboy'ing in gingham dresses and still be on point... MAD HISTORY RESPECT, the reason Hip Hop is in such a sorry commercially raped state right now is because the majority don't know the history of hip hop. But it's not their fault, hey if you know kids into hip hop, it's our responsibilty to teach em.. not hard these days with sites like this..
All of them were dope as hell I got mad respect for them. You gotta realize that a lot of those moves they invented. Barely had VCRs back then. It wasn't like today were you can pop in a dvd and bite somebody's shit studying their every move.
These guys are the masters for they engineered this shit. Guys who are criticizing these guys form 30 years deep need to understand that you wouldn't even know what breakdancing is unless these guys did what they did. The first computers weren't 12 cores
in 1983 i use to do windmills with hands behind my back. the move was called handcuffs. this was all i could do. my crew let me stay with them only bcoz i was one of the few dudes who couild windmills in all of houston. i tried doing windmills today but i can't too old and fat!! LOL

Power moves now days are ridiculous and I give new b boys all the respect for that. The small things are where we excelled. Uprockin now days is garbage for the most part it's only done to start a move. Back then uprock and footwork was an art thy we perfected. No rhythm nowadays just power moves.
this the amazing qenny quent from bed stuy doe or die. yall new generations of dancers that got yall style from my generations born 66 . yall know this shit is wicky who out rember union squre. the biggest hip hop club in america. back in86 when krs did that south bronx shit. and it whas live on 98.7 kiss. but they close it down when some fool stab a bouncer. la and southers rappers took rapp to hey higher level the newyork taught the word how to rapp
quality those where the good old days love the new york city breakers one of the all time great breakdance crew and classic tune love the old skol beats.
During the times of breaking dancing was the best. I remember practicing hours at a time with friends coming up wih new moves or routines because we were going to go to the skating ring on Saturday. They used to rope off an area so the breakers would battle.
It was much better than because very little fights broke out. Most people knew when they got burned so they would stop coming out into the middle to battle. Your friend would jump in to help you and thats how battles ended
@NOBLETRESE well i can mix well , just dont have the gear myself.. I know is doing a continuos loop on purpose but it doesnt sound very good and his scratch is not that great..
@opedroefeio I had lived the life as an action packed bboy growing up in new york back in the day.....this is more of a vibe thing cut n scratch records like we did and still do! the birth of "club kids" was a big confusion to even compare a thoroughbred. Check the steez kid....back in the day, that was how u cut op PLAY @ UR OWN RISK. BY PLANET PATROL...
@NOBLETRESE ....also, it's more of a style kinda thing.....don't matter if every cut is not perfect...there was always a counter scratch, and if you didn't have that swing....u know? rock steady grooves, not busy, overdone scratching, gotta corrupt the ladies with that head nod shit!!!

Dude,
During the times of breaking dancing was the best.
