Fantastic!!!! This is real country music. You can't hear it on the radio anymore. It is too country. Radio country is all JUNK. This is the real deal. I would like to see Rhonda & gene together this year hopefully. Rhonda is coming to our Bluegrass show on July 15th in New Enterprise Pa. Can't wait. Rhonda is always a great performer, very talented. My son and I went to see her in Berryville Va Nov7th 2010, and ended up taking her to the grocery store in my pickup. That was real COOL!!!
My question is when will they put this on radio? They won't. They have forgotten what REAL country music is. And how was Gene Watson and Vern Gosdin always overlooked?
Now THIS is what true COUNTRY music sounds like. Not some of the schlock on country radio today just because the singer (and I use the term very loosey) is young-n-sexy.
I seen gene a couple of times and he is just a great guy. He still puts on a great show and classic country needs to be heard more often. And this new material is classic already as far as I'm concerned!
Wow! There voices melt together like butter....Gene Watson is an amazing singer..Rhonda is wonderful!!!Why haven't we heard more of this song.? To Country for the radio stations....The new music is not country!!! Its o.k but it is not real country..Love This...
This is how traditional country love songs are done right! This one's tops for me. Rhonda Vincent also does an awesome blue grass version of Jolene(Dolly). Her voice blows me away!!
How sad that Nashville just doesn't get it! Gene Watson songs are the majority on any juke box in any real bar in America. The people who love real country music get it! I hope and pray I am still alive when Gene gets voted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. This duet and song has to be one of the greatest ever produced!!
@Avenger1948 I totally agree with you . We should begin a letter writing campaign to the CMA He is being overlooked, He has paid his dues and his fans want him reconized.
@IrishRed63 I agree with you 100%! Wish more of todays country stations would play"old school"country music instead of the Noise they play now and call it Country!
@mystilove88 gene is very busy yet today i have seen him 4 times just this yr and hung out and had a few beers with the guys in his band. he is still one of my all time fav.
Great song. Been a Gene fan for over 40 years. He grew up in my hometown. I would also loved hearing another favorite of mine, Vern Gosden do this song too. He also had that "feeling" like Gene does. Rhonda did a great job too.
I recall setting in a Song Critique meeting at MCA in 1985, and being told my Song was to Country, she didn't like the words Misery and Leaving, because she had just went through a Divorce. I reminded her this was Nashville, not LA Rock Music City as they had been trying to turn it into and why all the Country Labels were in the Red. They is only ONE Country Singer/ Songwrite out on the "A" List, and that was a New Man named Randy Travis, and then I got up and walked out. Thank you Randy, etc.
Really good stuff! If anyone out there doesn't know what "real" country music is, just have them listen to this!! Nashville you should be ashamed to play that stuff you play and call it country.. Shame on you Nashville!!
As a single artist or singing this duet, just don't get any better than Gene's music. Beautiful! When will we see him inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame??
I too just stumbled upon this video. I love gene's straight hair and I think he is sexier than ever!!!!!! I have watched this video many times, and wish there were more Gene Watson videos made. His newest CD "A Taste Of The Truth" is great. I haven't seen a better duet with Rhonda Vincent since Daryle Singletary,
its a shame these two wern't together in the 70's and 80's what magic they have and i've been a fan of gene watson for alot of years my band opened for him once one of my biggest thrils
Mr.Watson keep up this kind of music I grew up listing to this kind of music people have tried to change my mind .when I go out playing but I love the old stuff and you'll be supprised how many people still do.

Gene Watson has always been one of my favorite and have always loved his music but I believe he was just got better with age I hope he put out a thousand more just like this one.
Thank God there is still some "REAL" country music being created these days! What a great duet and Gene still sounds as good as he did several years ago. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and classic Gene... she is great too... They sing "well" together... I'd like to see him sing with one of Bill Anderson's backup singers: LeAnn Folsom, think they would sound great together too... and YES lol I agree with TheLDLady: HE COULD sing the phonebook and make it sound AWESOME!!!! (:
I've been cryin since the day before gene posted this Song on his website, and can't seem to stop! Honestley though, if you don't like this song, you have no idea what country music is all about. this is the best video of the year if not the decade! Kudos Gene & Rhonda !
Thanks Mark. I've always loved country music and singers but, since you send all these songs to me, you're making me like it more and more....in fact, this kind of music is getting more fans in Spain because I share your sharings......:)
I should have mentioned that I am also grateful that Gene and Rhonda are carrying the torch for great true country music . Gene has been all along for which I will be eternally thankful that we have it to enjoy. Margaret I wrote my comments on your channel but apparently the Halloween gremlins showed up so I don't see it. I will write again and, hopefully, it won't be on there twice. - Paula
My goodness - I think my heart just broke listening to this song. Thank you Margaret for sharing this. Gene and Rhonda sound wonderful - they are a terrific duo. I had to keep the tears back . It's great to hear another winner by Gene and Rhonda. Gene's fabulous voice and Rhonda's warm harmony are truly special. I like the scene in the video - very poignant. Thank you GWS for posting another treasure. - Paula

- Paula
