I don't think she was being phony. When someone dies that you love and people are talking about the person, you try to hold it in but then it just comes right out of you. You can feel your emotions coming down on you and you just cry. It happens quick. Sometimes, when my sister talks about my mother, right in the middle of talking, I'll start crying. I'll say, "OMG". Then, I'll start crying. Others can hold tears in and then cry when they go home (don't want others to see them cry).
