First of all, those who complain about tradition being altered...Hawaiian War Chant really isn't a war chant, Revelli screwed up and didn't translate the Hawaiian text correctly. It's a story of two lovers hahaha. Second UofM picks up the tempo drastically, so that's not true to form either. Last, Temptation is altered as well, and the tempo once again is increased drastically. Go listen to the original Big Band version; it's incredibly cool! It's called artistic license, and interpretation.
Wow, "sacred tradition", "cheesy low brass"? When i was in the band, Gary Lewis used to complain about people berating him for holding certain notes in M Fanfare a fraction of a second too long. How about accepting that things change over time?

app state played a great game and took advantage of that 1/100 opportunity they were given. but you also have to realize it wasn't the biggest upset on record. even stanford over USC that year was bigger than app state over michigan.

Wow, so many things were wrong with what you just said.
First off, any and every team that plays UM has a chance to win. It depends on how prepared UM is, and in the that game, UM was not prepared well.
Secondly, if you think UM belongs "in the gutter" then, you are wrong my friend. YOU enjoy bashing on UM while you can. Things will change.
