@BritishBoyStar This was my first PC, which was actually built around a later Everquest expansion pack. So it was pretty dated, but it still ran FO3 pretty well. A lot of the frame drop was related to FRAPS. Of course, now I have a much better machine to run on and I play FO3 and NV on Ultra and can push Skyrim on High. Given that Skyrim is kinda similar to specs on Oblivion/FO3, though, it's not too impressive I suppose.

The stuttering is from my GeForce 6300 I used at the time. Thing was like a mini-van sputtering at a nascar event. I would say FO3 was on a stable engine. And I'm not even sure how much development they did on New Vegas, but I know tht stutters a lot at times.

That is true to an extent. To my understanding they did help out the development with their own people to certain extents, and it certainly has some of their work in it-It's on the engine they designed. While Black Isle (Now Obsidian) did most of it, they're still notorious for making bad glitches in games. Anyone who has played Fallout 1-2 will know there were some nasties in it.

Cmon now, there is no possible way to stick up for this pre-beta gaming engine. From Morrowind to New Vegas, it has not improved one bit and Bethesda refuses to address the issue. You can have the most uber PC in the world, and it will crash and freeze it every time you play. Skyrim will be no different.

What crashing problems did Morrowind and Oblivion have? Sorry. Even on my 6300GT both games ran and I never had any crashes relating to the games on my computer. It might be a possibility that it's console firmware-Not Bethesda coding, that crashes. Bethesda has addressed the issue in multiple ways for PC users, either through patches or giving us appropriate tools that we can even address the problem through user made patches. Developers work with what they have.

There is a way to keep this from going badly through speech check. Just talk to one of the Megaton Settlers and tell them to back off, or convince the BoS escorts to give them water at the expense of Big Town's supply (which is where it was going).
