Your technique on the up arrow is great, but you could probably still save some energy by tightening in the left and right arrow a bit (your feet were all over the place on those), as well as with the down arrow (you could afford to shave at least an inch or two as far as how far towards the middle of the panel you hit). Sorry if that came out bashy. You're definitely beast, and way better than me, those are just a few things I noticed.
Honestly, the whole shoe thing is a matter of personal preferance and comfort. It just so happens that a lot of people that use Tapers, prefer them to Frees. That doesn't mean they're BETTER, just that a lot of people who play in Frees and switch to Tapers, prefer them. They're definitely the two most highly recommended shoes to play ITG with, though. There's little doubt about that.
How do you like the 3.0s compared to your old 5.0 trainers?

The sole is thicker on the 3.0s so they're bad for fast movement and streams.
They're good for bursts/drills, though.
