  • liiiiindooo

  • i like his jeans XD

  • damn,i wasnt there.i wish they would come to sg again

  • i never liked this solo, i always thought he couldve written something way more complex to improvise on. hes syn ffs.

  • @AmonOfTheSahelijos While i agree that im sure he could have written something more complex, see afterlife.

Since it is for improv and he has to play it while moving around and of course. FUN. Which seems to be what people are forgetting these days. look at John Petrucci, he's fucking amazing but he hardly moves.

  • @smallgiant9 eh, he doesn't move around that much.

  • @ipwnathalo88 Yes indeed!

  • @ipwnathalo88 I bet he will come up with a new one soon. :) It has been a LOOONG time since the last time he played it now..

  • syn is an awesome guitarist but i think he needs to practice his improvs lol

  • how many times did A7X came to singapore? (im just curious cuz im from singapore LOL)

  • I Love how Syn jump at 3:27

  • @ipwnathalo88 it will never get old ;)

  • THIS FUCKING AMAZINGLY INSANE I LOVE YOU SYNYSTER !!!! ♥ ^_^

  • Synyster Gates....just the best!!! so HOT!!

  • The Rev.! :O <3 Synyster is awesome.!! (: I got to see these guys in concert..except it was the new drummer.. ):

  • syn!

  • silly chinese synether it sounds like

  • <3 (:

  • Ehh. . . He's pretty good. . . But honestly i just hear a lot of technique, and no real feeling. . . If that's feeling, then this dude feels like shit .. lmao :-P jkjkjk

  • He rocks! But what is up with 2:45 - 2:51 ?? Lol even the greats make mistakes

  • @FLEP09 everyone does....

  • @Scoff94 Thats why I said even the greats make mistakes....to illustrate that everyone does

  • @FLEP09 It is called slop xD But yes, no one is perfect.

  • Manteeeeeeeppp....

Synyster Gates Best Of The Best poKok'e....

  • haha the rev wasnt paying attention 2 win he should start the drums.

  • Synyster Is good, but he isn't that good. He has some shredding talent but it could be better, and this solo isn't all that amazing xD

  • @Hpswimma23 you try playing like he does and say that again...

  • Come to Malaysia . Its just beside Singapore

  • anyone else see the random person run across the back of the stage at 0:42?

  • Syn is so fuckin' amazing! I love a7x! Seriously they are the best! <3

    a7x 4-ever!!!!

  • ...He made a lot of mistakes the fast part lol =S

  • @atshapi13 no he didnt, when its your solo there is no such thing as a mistake

  • @BornToConquerBand Well when you do triplets and you miss one note on 3 I call that a mistake =)

  • @atshapi13 how do you know he was doing triplets, maybe he was trying to mix it up a little

  • @aboston12 Because I play guitar for years =) and you?

  • @atshapi13 so have i and whenever i improvise or do a solo i like to change it up

  • @aboston12 I didn't say he was wrong because he improvised I just said he missed some notes on the fast part.

  • the reading festival was even worst.performers were bottled by hardcore fans

  • fail and a half

  • dude when the rev came out--trippy dude

  • what solo is that? i think i've heard it before, but i forgot!

  • @DitaCutez the beast and the harlot.

  • @zer097 is it? but why is he just doing that over and over and over..? it doesn't sound like beast harlot.. isn't beast and the harlot goes faster than that?

  • @DitaCutez

It was just a solo intro.

  • @Skjoldr16 If he sucks so much then post a video of you doing it then you can say he sucks

  • @6daysontheroad synster sucks you suck. god damn asshole, you can say that he sucks even, if you can't play this shit...

  • @ipwnathalo88 sooooo agree. when i hear the first notes im like rolling my eyes but it takes just a few sec for me to be hooked up. its so effing good

  • aaahhh -what song is that and where can i find the tabs for that -that solo is so awesome i wanna play that

  • you guys hear that shit about Johnny Christ i guess he is out of the band 2 because he was trying to commit suicide from overdosing on cough syrup, so then M. Shadows had enough and couldn't take it so they kicked him out its sad man Avenged Sevenfold is just falling apart now their is just 3/5 now in the band its just said.

  • @guitarxguy Where the hell did you hear that??

  • whered u read this

  • @guitarxguy Dude you heard wrong Justin Sane was the one who tried to commit suicide

  • @guitarxguy lol, thats Sane . the former bassist.

  • eh this guys always fuc*in drunk lol

  • fuck why did Jimmy have to come out at :53. made me cry.. :(

    i love this solo.. :)

  • i no this is weird and since the rev passed away but dude it would be sick if they hired a new drummer and when the drummer took a break while synyster was doing this solo right now and then at 0:52 jimmy comes out of the ground and was ready to drum now that would be sick.

  • yea ithat would... RIP rev :'(

  • @guitarxguy that would be awesome

  • @guitarxguy That would be cool.

  • alexi laiho doesnt plays fast ..... he plays more beautiful coz thats hes style...

  • i think he was a little drunk in this one check out the one in rock am ring its soooo much faster and smoother

  • fast????Listen Steve Vai..Yngwie Malmseen..Alexi Laiho..

  • Steve Vai doesn't know how to use his 4th finger.

  • He plays the same damn solo all the time.... I mean its good don't get me wrong but it just gets old cause you know what he does. And he's a bit sloppy on the bridging.

  • 2:46 :S

  • @seansskyline he is abit drunk at this time

  • woooh!!! SE-NE-ST-ER

  • freak <3

  • He's so fucking fast duuuddddeeeee.

  • alright for 1 synyster gates is a fucking beast anything he plays sounds good no matter how many he times he plays it

  • hahahaha the rev! nice save :D

this solo's so fucking awesome - no matter how many times he plays

  • This fuckin' solo again?!

  • what is the tune he is playing at thge start

  • this is 2 years old. they don't have a new album. it's probably just something made up. I seen them back in march and he did the whole solo thing but it was totally different.

  • I think i speak for almost everyone when I say Colenelly is proud and full of himself. Colenelly: "i got 4 years of award winning high school and band classes" whopp de dooo. I have friends half your age that play better than you.

  • well you may be able to play guitar, but he is still better than you'll ever be.

  • why does syn always do that solo in every concert?

  • it may b on their new album

  • well to help put this argument to rest... syn may be no satch, but he is still damn good, he went to school to learn to play... i mean the reason his stuff is so out there is because he brings in alot of jazz influence into something bassed on the blues. so it sounds freaking crazy and that makes it awesome!

  • This video makes me sad, frankly.

  • Its pretty true, its amazing how anyone can possibly think this man is talented. Sigh.

  • ive seen all these hater comments, and i questioned my self: "mabye its not just ppl think hes a god or anythng, mabye ppl just like his music" If u ask me hes done his job prety well. He may not be talented in other ppls eyes, but he is obviously doing something right.

  • settle down ladies geez lol

  • sg loves a7x!!

  • wished i was there to watch him play lol

  • syn is fucking amazing! & a7x is drop dead fucking awesome!!!

  • well he can't play the guitar at all...

    ...

...jk Syn plays the SHIT outta that guitar.

  • yeah he can

  • if people dont like synyster gates then why do they whatch the videos just to comment and try to get people angry heres a solution to everybody that doesnt like syn or avenged sevenfold just dont listen to them and dont whatch the videos .

  • I watch videos I enjoy, and see that people like socom018 don't have anything better to do than be haters. If you watch it to learn, and don't, just don't watch it again, no need to comment.

  • why does his guitar sound so sharp in this video, is it the camera?

  • it looks like his solo at rock am ring at germany 2006

  • your fucking videos suck bloody donkey balls (SOCOM)

  • well put, but not my vids, sorry!

I'll keep a note on you noobker and when i put a vid of me playing, i'll send it to you and LestatDemon King94.

it will be solely on me playing better than syn, and some of his stuff so you cant say its just a different style, gimme a week

  • okay. post a cover of the wicked end and MIA including the solos and i'll respect you.

  • shut up SOCOM

  • dude solos dont have 2 b technically challenging. and yes he did go 2 college for jazz studies. and WHY does there have 2 b jazz in his solos? and i like him hes ereally good and i have heard everyone from yngvie malmsteem, jimi hendrix, and duane allman who u probly dont know about and he is right up there with sum of the greats ! and i myself am i guitarist and have got 2 say his solos r pretty hard to learn. and wat have u got dat says u canm EVALUATE music?

  • well first of all, i graduated the 5th grade unlike most of you. Sure solos don't have to be technical, but when they are not technically or musically impressive and people call the guitarist amazing its a lie.

Believe me, i've studied guitarist since i was a kid, starting with greats like Andres Segovia (whom im sure you don't know) to inspirational virtuosos like Jason Becker and Paul Gilbert.

half of this guy's solo is an annoying rhythm riff!

  • alright u know wat i actually do know bout great guitarists like andres segovia and more but the thing is they all have an advantage over syn! the advantage is their age! they all have years of experience under their belts so u cant really compare them until he has gotten that much experience. and the way hes started off is pretty damn close to where they stood musically at their prime. so give him a sum years and he will b as good if not better than sum of them.

  • very well, if its time you want, check out Jason Becker. At age 16, he translated paganini's 5th caprice from violin to guitar. at 17 he was considered a virtuoso, he wrote symphonies with Marty Friedman and concertos as well.

If he did it in that time why cant syn? he's lazy i suppose, or generally not good at guitar.

  • alright if we're gonna talk about translating guitar and wat not then listen to the studio and live version of a little piece of heaven. he translated the sound of the horns to guitar. also beast and the harlots intro (full version) is him on piano and guitar. also warmness on the soul him playin piano.

  • well if he translated CHALLENGING pieces it would be one thing but beast and the harlot's intro's tempo is kinda slow and a rip off of toccota and fugue, only bad.

i will offer a reward to anyone who shows me evidence that syn plays technically advanced pieces

  • alright then listen to the solos for beast and the harlot bat country and seize the day

  • i said "TECHNICALLY ADVANCED" not "worse than nick jonas"

  • since when has being technically advanced mattered in concerns to musicianship? Oh yea, that's right, never.

He knows a shit ton of music theory. He can write music that produces the sound he wants. Maybe some people like him because they like to portray him as a "rebel", that doesn't mean that he isn't a musician with damn good skills.

And for the record, he is extremely technically advanced. He might not be as good as the antics of Batio or Malsteem, but he's also not trying to be.

  • Of course hes nothing next to Batio or malmsteem, but come on, syn is good :)

  • well being technically advaced sure as hell doesn't hurt! look at paul gilbert for instance. he can do beautiful arpeggios with his ass!

and none of syn's pieces (yes, none of them) have ever impressed me, especially musically. and i dont think if he was some huge music major he'd be pumped out this horse dick.

  • he is definitely not technically advanced haha. This is not an impressive guitar solo. There are thousands of guitarists much more talented than synester gates, kids just don't know the difference.

  • hahahah

Wow. I love it when people pull out this argument. Kids love Synyster Gates because they think he's "emo" or a "rebel" etc. Syn is a hell of a lot more technically advanced than MOST guitarists out there. ESPECIALLY the ones that have signed deals. Yes there are better ones. But few of them have as much musicianship. And yes there are a few that have better musicianship and better technical skills. But why does that matter at all? He plays beautiful music. What else matters?

  • I see him as a rich guy dressed like a rebel. How is he technically advanced at all? None of A7X is technical at all. None of his guitar solos are technical at all. You must not understand the definition of technical. i couldn't see him playing the music of many bands I can think of.

  • M.I.A.

    Afterlife

    Bat Country

    Second Heartbeat (NY)

And if you want to argue that those aren't technically advanced, then you can also argue that you know nothing about music outside of how many notes you can play per second..

Now please name some of your "shed masters" so that I can show you either the lack of musciananship or the lack of entertainment.

  • I've heard the songs, I used to like A7X until I realized they aren't nearly as talented as it seems. None of those songs are technically advanced also. Spencer Seim, Nick Reinhard, Chris Arp, Guthrie Govan, the guitarists of Protest The Hero, the guitarists of Architects, Omar Rodriguez Lopez. They can do more than arpeggios, and generic metal riffage. I also know a GREAT deal about musical theory and the arrangement of music, so don't fight me on that.

  • Hahaha, I will argue you on that one. Can you give me the different modes that are used to stay in key in f#m?

Most of the artists you listed go further on little kids splooging over their technicality than any of their musicianship. Playing the same scale at high speeds does not make you a good artist.

  • I'm not about to work that out. I don't care enough. What do you mean they go further on kids splooging over their technicality? They are technical players, who make technical music, not people looking for attention playing simple music, and "the same scale at high speeds" AKA Synester Gates. this is a simple argument, on a video that proves that I am right. You also can't argue that I know about music, because its a fact also.

  • He uses a standard dm scale in some places. But he also throws in a chromatic, and diminished scale. As well as a flatted fifth in several places, effectively making it a psuedo-blues scale. It is definitely not the same scale over and over again.

Also, the modes that are used to play in f#m are the same as the modes of any other scale. The only difference is that they are placed on the relative degrees of the f#m scale (f#, g#, c#, being the only modified degrees).

  • You really think that he was going for a pseudo-blues scale? I don't believe, be it one or not. I play diminished chords and scales all the time, but I don't consider myself an extremely technical player. He Is puts scales together, and plays them quickly, with little effect on the listener. Good job answering your own question. Cool. Of course notes are placed on the degrees of that scale, thats just overindulging your answer.

  • by adding a flatted fifth in a non-blues scale, it gives it a darker, more depressing quality. So yes, I do. And I brought that up to show his musicians ship, not his technicality. Also, I did not answer my own question. The fact that you didn't realize that proves that you know relatively nothing about music theory. Also, I wasn't naming notes, I was naming mode roots. Further proving that you don't know any music theory.

  • I guess I learned nothing in 4 years of my award winning high school and college band classes. Man, I sure am a failure. You are truly the king, in knowing that Synyster Gates is a good guitar player, although he is clearly not, so I had already won the argument. And I know relatively nothing about music because I didn't answer your question.

  • I didn't call him king. I called him a technically good player and a good musician. There is nothing godly about him.

    4 years < 12 years

  • synyster<most guitarists

you could have 12 shitty years. I find it hard to believe that you have 12 years of musical training, you have subscribed to 5 anime channels. It doesn't fit.

  • I started playing piano at six. Then I stopped and switched to trumpet and later baritone. In high school I switched to guitar. I've had formal teachers the entire way. Ones that taught more about theory and composition than how to play music.

I subscribe to anime channels because i'm interested in them. I don't need to subscribe to music to listen to, understand it, or appreciate it. At this point you're just lashing out at useless points because you can't come up with a better argument.

  • Ok. Well than I think this is over. Synyster is still clearly a bad guitarist, so we haven't achieved anything.

  • you are jealous of syn because he can play guitar and you can't..

  • m. shadows is the one who plays piano not syn

  • I lol'd when you said "studied guitarist". That's not a waste of time at ALL.

  • if you're listening to a guitarist, you're studying him. what are you doing on this video?

  • That's an illogical assumption, and I was following links.

  • It's not illogical. If you're listening to a guitarist play, you can hear their style, that certain little something they put into everything that they just jam on.

From that you can see what or who they're influenced by, as well as their level of technical and musical skill. If thats not studying, I don't know what is!

  • I put little to no effort into this and learn nothing from it.

Well, that's not totally true. I learned that they use a lot of purple lighting at Singfest.

And assuming is always illogical. Always.

  • then why watch it? for the shiny lights, then? whatever floats your boat.

if you play an instrument, you eventually will listen to someone else play and see how you can use their technique to make you better.

i came hear listened and was dissapointed because i got nothing out of it exceot that if you dress like the gimp and play guitar, people praise you for it

  • yup. u dress that way and get to travel the world....and have fans....and get chicks...and money...and respect...and custom guitars...and meet celebs. you bitch and get to....get bitched at....be annoying...whine. HAVE FUN ^_^

  • well he gets all that, sure. but does he really deserve it?

there are countless other people who can write symphonies and suites on the guitar who just didnt get the lucky break he did. beleive me, he's not famous for his guitar work, just his image of a rebel and a punk.

  • hey bitch where are the vids u promised. cant do it can you?

  • sorry i dont have much time IN COLLEGE...

ill make them when i make them

  • yeah sure.. "SOCOM018 playing better than Synyster Gates" i wonder when you'd post those vids.. hmm in 75 years?

  • yeah the only time when hes gonnna play better than syn is when syn dies..;..

  • okay, in irony im going to send you a friend request and then i can note you as the one to send the vid to.

    that, or you can subscribe

hell i'll have next week off, just hold your breath

  • awesome.

  • dude its been a fucking month. WHERE THE FUCK IS THE BLOODY VIDEO. JUST ADMIT IT YOU SUCK

  • oh shit, i forgot about you guys.

  • it's amazing...

    synyster gates is the best

  • the last 3 vids of this dude i have watched have been the same damn solo

  • he has 2 different solos that are pretty much all him but he can do anything with a guitar

  • i agree with u completely socom i hate how overated syn and other new age metal guitarists are i just pray for another Lynch or Becker than maybe these uneducated a7x fans will learn music

  • at 0:24 i no how to play thaatt

  • I think we can all agree here that its just refreshing to see a guitarist in modern mainstream music who can rip it up. Obviously Van Halen and Slash are amazing and nobody can challenge that, they've been at this for 20 years. Syn's only got half that time on em and he's still young. I say kudos to him for gettin kids and people back into thinkin guitar solos are cool again and didn't die in the 80s.

  • here we go again people!if you don,t like syn then don,t look at him! okay i think syn rocks and is the bets guitarist and i don,t want to hear about other people who suppose to better then him because simply I DO NOT CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!TO ME SYN ROCKS AND NO OTHER!

  • that solo sucks

syn is way to good to being doing stuff like that...

  • lets cut it down to this

    yes they all have flaws

    but there all famous

so they must be doing something right so just shut the fuck up

  • Dude, You have to admit that sucked. He's overrated. Please look at Mark tremonti. -_-''

  • if he's overrated stop watching vids of him.. geezzz pple thesse days is it too hard to click on another vid?

  • you know who else is famous? Carrot Top.

    What did he do right?

Fame has NOTHING to do with musicianship, on the subject, syn is a half-way decent guitarist, and a horrible musician.

I can name a thousand people better han him, who aren't overrated like Halen and Slash (who are both the most overrated guitarists in) history

Try: Paul Gilbert, Jason Becker, Marty Friedman, Billy Sheehan, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Stump, Chris Impellitteri, Michael Angelo Batio, Joey Tafolla, Greg Howe.

  • wow you realize you named nothing but people who have been playing longer than syn's been alive right? it doesnt matter how good someone is theyve got experience he doesnt have, when hes been playing that long will you finnaly admit hes great?

  • okay, you wanna play that card? Jason Becker played for a total of twelve years of his life (ages 5-18). In that, he wrote ballets, symphonies, concertos, you name it. Then, he was paralyzed soon after being struck with Lou Gherig's disease.

He communicates through a system of eye movements. He uses it to tell people what notes to write down, and eventually, he writes pieces of music. You know what syn does? Shitty solos, and uncreative rythms.

  • well thats very impressive nonetheless, but im not very sure what one mans struggles and passions have to do with another's musicianship and all but the bottom line is, i can understand how you could think that avenged sevenfold isnt great, or that his riffs are shit and all but the reality here is that this is a band that has a sound locked in and it took them many years to acheive a confidence level in their own artistic creativity, and to bring their vision to life,

  • and theyre playin the usic they love because they feel a passion for it, unlike other bands who just do it for fame or money these guys genuinely love it and you seem like a guy who could at the very least appreciate that fact, syn's talent level is lliterally unrivaled by all the pother people in his genre, which in turn kinda makes him "the smartest retard, but still a retard" but there's really no reason to bash his talent level because it isnt you're taste.

  • well i dont mean to bash just him, there are plenty of others who deserve my foot in their ass.

it just kills me how in other genres like say country and jazz, its not really expected to have great guitar, but then comes people like Pat Metheney and Chet Atkins, who take you by surprise. But then in a genre where great guitar is expected like metal, theres just a stream of uncreativity and lack of individualism. i guess a day will come when we get another Randy Rhoads, or George Lynch.

  • Do it yourself then. Write a mind blowing guitar solo... That, or shut the fuck up, and sit the fuck down. Don't watch it if you don't like it. It's annoying to listen to little know-it-alls like you try and bash on someone they don't know jack shit about. Syn actually went to college for jazz theory. You can tell in his solos... something you obviously don't understand.

  • sure i dont know about him, i could care less.

But i do evaluate a lot of his music and the most technically challenging thing i've heard him do is an Em arpeggio sweep (which isn't very technical, just fast because its a sweep)

i sense NO jazz in any of his soloing... the only thing he does close to jazz is play chromatic scales

if you're caught up with Synyster Gates then its something you obviously don'y know much about because you're not exploring styles. at least try Yngwie...

  • I know Yngwie Malmsteen. I have a poster of him.

And i know what i am talking about. You just watched a video and tried to sound all smart by bashing someone you don't like. To be honest, i find it annoying. I'm guessing you don't like Steve Vai or Dimebag Darrell either.

  • I don't like Steve Vai just because he's pretentious, he's a great guitarist though. Dimebag was Revolutionary to metal i absolutely love his work. but what does Synyster Gates have to do with them? he has half their talent.

  • @ CRASHDIET09

When you can do that, then maybe, and just maybe, you'll have the honor of licking his nut sac.
