When I first started watching Top Gear and became a fan I didn't really like James and couldn't warm upto him as I found him irritating for some reason. Something changed that and I then started to like him to where I really like him and he became my favourite of the three. I eventually came to realise that he's actually quite a sweet and down to earth guy.
As much as I like John Clesse, I think James May would be a better "Q" than John. No, really, I can imagine James saying "Now pay attention 007, I want you take great care of this equipment". It would be awesome!
