  • That is beautiful! I remember so many great times singing this tune...

  • i said all that oh well sittin in the backyard

  • These were the days when I actually listened to the radio and LIKED top 40! Who could blame me? At least it had SOUL.

  • you would never know this was the(ONE FINE MORNING) guys, if not for ther name on it , wonder what happened! they shoulda been like b.s &t!, how could they lose such direction!

  • This song is dope

  • 40 years later and it's still a great, great track!

I went to Nathan Phillips Square to see/hear Lighthouse play live (circa 1971)

    Love them!

  • awsome song i still hear it on the radio

  • Hey. Time to shoot that watermelon full of Vodka, and stroll past the cops, into High Park, to watch a Lighthouse concert. Happy May 24th fellow Canucks !

  • most of us didn't have a clue about Canadian contant back in the day....it was a good thing ,but this group would have made it regardless!!!!

  • Day before my final exam before graduating from my University Career, and this song makes me feel GREAT!

  • Love it! And yep, I can relate to the pic at :54.

  • 4 people can't find their radio...

  • @DesertMango

    good one!

  • This is a fantastic song. Makes me so happy :)

  • I had this one on a K Tel record.

  • this song always reminds me of sunny afternoon by the kinks!!

  • @thisismypage79 reminds me of Good Day Sunshine by the beatles.

  • CANADIANS Rock now isnt this a great tune or what..............

  • anyone know the guitar chords for this tune??? i know the verse start in C then D

  • Just to let you know that Lighthouse is still performing and sounding better than ever. Check out their website for tour dates and a history page that really fills you in on the band from the very beginning till now. They have a new CD/DVD that in the band's opinion is there best recording ever.

  • Wow, what amazing music. Takes me back to my teen years, those were the days. Life was simple, fun, carefree.

  • And thank you for posting this. This is one of those songs that nowadays, in spite of its quality, is just one of those that you only hear on one of those countdown shows for this date in(fill in year). You look around and find most songs fade from the airways wthin a couple of years after release, some for better reason than others.

  • I really like this tune and the swell photos

  • way back in seventys our local radio station would play a 2 second sound clip of a song and if you phoned in a guessed the right band and song you could win money They played the part between.123 and 125. I won 123 dollars lol i was 8

  • I was a toronto native, and a friend Wolf Mueller (Curved Space) who was somehow involved with this group, and they payed a few parties for us - loved it

  • No other song means summer like this one ! Crank it up and enjoy....!

  • this song always cheers me up when im sad

  • For you Melody =)

  • Trying to copy John Sebastian and The Loving Spoonfull, pitiful!

  • how do i play that inro on piano...arrrrrghhh i love it!

  • Wow - there was confusion between Lighthouse and Lighthouse Family?? Lighthouse Family were nowhere NEAR Lighthouse, in any way, musically, songwriting, etc. I think it's almost an insult to compare the two. Lighthouse were one of the finest bands in the world, from any country, ever! Lighthouse Family were just a poppy, schmaltzy "me too" outfit that offered nothing new or original to the music world.

  • The feel of this song is recaptured for this generation with songs like "Girls in their summer clothes" and "Soak up the sun"

  • Great pix - I had this song on 45 - it still makes he happy to hear it.

  • What a completely terrible song! Sounds like an aborted Randy Newman song.

  • I wish some one would put up skip procop's version of eightmiles high

  • Just came back from the 40th Anniversary Concert at the Queen Elizabeth Building in Toronto!!!! (Feb. 13th 2010) It was FANTASTIC!!! So was the AFTER PARTY!!!! Nice People all around!!!

  • I was there too, a fantastic concert and enjoyable after-party. Hope they're able to do it again for their 50th.

  • OMG ty so much for posting this. i have been looking for so long to find this song

  • A lot of musicians from the 60's and 70's were classically trained. Listen to the horns from B S & T, Chicago, Grass Roots, Malo, some Doors, Bo Donaldson, etc etc.

  • o ya this is a great band, canada just produces the greatest

  • dont you think they have the right idea because all the man has planned is a police militiaistic world give me the sunshine f the police state and military world and global economy for 120 people!!!

  • It was a much simpler time back then. Just trying to bring a little of it back. Hope you find what you're looking for. The world has its problems, but it sure beats the alternative.

  • @garageband66 Right you are.......the best thing to do is just lay back and enjoy......this song means SUMMER to me, and I play it full blast on the first hot day. And on the coldest day to give me hope.......!

  • @garageband66 Bleh, maybe you were alive back then so you know better than me, but I hate when people say things like "everything was simpler back then" and "movies were better then" beacuse really it's only the important stuff and good movies that last, people don't like dwelling on crap. Music however, much much better back then.

  • @garageband66 Amen to that !

  • This is totally my song for sitting in the backyard with a beer :D

  • grudzień 73 ślizgawka na niebuszewie-wspomnienia powróciły

  • AHHHHhhhhhhh yeah Sunny Days !!!!! Bring it on

  • is the person that made this a guy or a girl cause theres like pics of half naked chicks in theis vid

  • Thank you!!

  • This is perhaps my favorite summer song. It's a great song to listen to whether it's summer, or it's -30C out here in frigid Alberta, Canada. And besides, they're Canadian-what's not to like?

  • You sir, are kickass.

  • Than why did you bother searching for it on youtube? Thats like me saying "I hate getting beat up" than going downtown and picking a fight with twenty guys.

  • Good analogy, but I didn't search it. I was listening to Star Baby by the Guess Who and saw this in the related videos section. I wanted to make it known that this song drove me crazy every time I heard it at work. That explains my rationale.

  • Star Baby, definitely worth looking up, thanks.

  • He specifically said 'but I didn't search it', duh..

  • Did he say that in the first comment? Maybe you could tell me why I didn't use my psycic abilities to forsee his response to my comment, or why I didn't use them to find out how he found the video. And shit, CLICKING A LINK TO A VIDEO YOU DON'T LIKE WOULD BE LIKE GOING TO THE BAR YOU LIKE AND LOOKING ACROSS THE SREET AT THE DIVE WITH THE WHORES AND GANGSTA'S AND SAYING "THATS WHERE I WANT TO BE"

There, a more fitting analogy... Happy now?

    Moron.

  • chill, lol, did you take your meds today?

  • So THIS is that song

"sunny, sunny days" ....I just heard that

part of the song during a commercial,

years ago...this is the first time I have

    ever heard it in full!

    VERY obscure "one-hit wonder". Thanks

    for putting it up!

  • They weren't a one hit wonder. Look for One Fine Morning. It was a much bigger hit than this song.

  • Lighthouse had a few other tunes that made the charts - they weren't a one hit wonder!

  • No they had a few others but the law suits between the original Lighthouse and Lighthouse Family probably contributes to the confusion of just which band is responsible for which song. I have always liked "Pretty Lady" as well.

  • @disastertom NO, they weren't 9 Gold Records, 3 Platinum. I interviewed them last Friday on Liquid Lunch that channel.com

  • @RonaldVaughan...they were much more than a "one hit wonder" thanks.

  • Excellent tune next to i just wanna be your friend

  • Oh God, I just LOVE this song!

  • Oh Lynn - you are just the best - Thanks for sending this to me! bud

  • LOL, and she said you were me, she knew pretty well I don't like that music at all! Retards...

  • i like that song who's with me

  • About 28,000 other folks.

  • a classic!!!!!!

  • lolol i love the no working sign!

hands down best summer song ever!

  • I am glad someone appreciates my humor.

It is a great summer song.

  • Reminds me of my lost youth in the Buffalo NY area! Peace out!

  • Youth is never truly lost as long as you keep treasuring the memories.

  • I Love Listenin To This Song When i Get High

  • It's good when you're not too.

  • Perfect song for a day like today. Sunny days, ahhhh

  • Lots of other stuff that goes along with them too.

  • Classic summer tune!

  • Yes and one that does not get the airplay it deserves.

  • I like the man on his stomach. ha.

  • i bet you do, i bet you do :)

  • Be careful now.

  • AWESOME!

  • Thanks for the view.

  • its great that teenagers like myself enjoy good music like this

    ROCK N ROLL XD

  • Glad for that.

  • How I love this song... this is my and my hubby's marriage song. We listened it first the night before the ceremony on the radio and we loved it! Sunny days..... eh.....

  • That must have been one wild ceremony in church!

  • hehe :D No.

the song wasn't playng during the ceremony. no way :))

  • MEN.....

  • Hey...wait a minute. They are all fully clothed.

  • YES I FOUND IT .

I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS !!

    YESSS. FINALLY !

    haha Nice pictures, btw.

    =]

  • Sunny days, beaches, pretty women, it all fits togther. At least it did back in the day.

  • this music brings back memories all so good on my roadie days and untill i die i think i have a tamborien from a live show in sydney early 70's

  • Those girls are HOT! :P

  • I just pick 'em they are all hot on their own. I can't take the credit for natural beauty and great genes. Probably photoshop helps a little too.

  • When I was young my mom told me our generation's music wouldn't last like her generation's Big Band-era music would. I figured she was right even though I preferred unapologetic rock 'n' roll. Looking back, I know now that I lived though the greatest days of music ever, including songs like this one, without realizing it. Kudos to the present generation for, unlike my mom, not having too much pride to admit the truth. LOL.

  • Now, now, big band music has its place too; although I'm not sure where.

  • Why thank you, wise indeed

  • Great song, too bad almost everyone of my generation aren't even aware of how good classic songs like these are (I'm 17). Comparing the songs of yesterday to today's, no competition.

  • You are indeed wise beyond your tender years.

  • I agree with you so much, and I'm 16

  • Only one Original Lighthouse featuring the Late Bob McBride and Skip Prokop not the 2000's American Group who call themselves Lighthouse. As Jon Bauman aka Sha Na Na Bowser says before Supreme Court about Stealing Group Name Identity Theft Violations.

  • Sittin stoned alone in my backyard, asking myself why should I work so hard?

    True.

    True.

  • I never worked that hard when that song first came out but I did dabble in a few of those questionable activities. Man that seems like an eternity ago.

    Thanks for the view.

  • i finally found it!!!!!

OMG I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOREVER FOR THIS

    SONG!!!!

    XD

  • Glad you found it!!

  • Hint: I found it too when the instant I wanted too. Here's how: If you even have a Dead Sea scroll fragment of memory of a lyric go to Gooooogle and typer as much as you can remember and any key words then types, 'lyrics'. Here I typed, 'Sunny days Sunny Sunny Sunny days radio' Gooogle found it for me. 'Lighthouse' >>>Go to Youtube >>> Youhave it.

  • I've used other sites similar when I was hung up on a song. Good advice!

  • I was 15 and makin out with the 13 year old girl 4 houses down from me, whoo-hoo 1972-a stiff wind- i think ya know guys! Where did it go?

  • Seems so long ago.

  • Classic song from a forgotten band.

  • Some people still pass on the word but I suppose it´s a minority, what a pity

  • My personal anthem song whether I'm on Florida's or Hawaii's beaches or Lake Erie.

  • Ok!

  • my uncle skip was in this band

  • Does he play with them when they tour Canada on occasion?

  • one sunny day in front of toronto city hall...free concert..72?

  • Free concerts, good times!

  • my uncle larry smith was in this band

  • The next time you talk to your uncle could you ask him if he sang the lead on the studio version of Pretty Lady. I have been having a running argument with someone for years who says that Skip Prokop sang the lead. I say it was your uncle.

  • I know that Itunes credits Skip but you never know for sure. I hope someone definate gets back to both of us soon.

  • 5 Stars garageband. Classic Skip Procop and Kelly Jay. 72 one of the best years of my life. 75 was one of the worst years. Got Married.

  • Sorry about the marriage thing. Got mine right though, been married 26 years and it gets better every day. Thanks for the view!

  • Sign me up!

  • What a great tune! Yea, I played this record all the time back in the day constantly. Thanx for posting this!!!!!

  • Glad to do it.

  • YEAH, SUNNY DAYS!!! This was, and still is, a great LP!

  • This one and Life is a Rock played for hours and hours at my house.

  • and you're in the States? That's kinda cool, man!

The Canadian Lighthouse should have been a bigger success in the States, but American radio didn't give them the airplay they deserved. Radio would rather play Chicago back then.....

  • Radio (top 40) back then was tied to record sales and many record buyers simply did not take the time to find out who recorded their favorites. Many still believe when they hear "One Fine Morning" that it's Chicago. Anything that had horns in it was considered Chicago and panned as a poor man's version if it wasn't Chicago. Have many DJ friends still in the biz now that have told me how uneducated listeners were and still are about their rock-n-roll.

  • I believe it......

Thanks for suporting great music, whether American, Canadian, British, etc.....

  • wow, great post. forgot all about this song!!!!!

  • That's why I do it, so no one forgets. There's a lot of great stuff that never gets played anymore. Bruce was right when he called it "Radio Nowhere".

  • i love this song its one of my favorites the last time i remember hearing this song was when i was five thx so much for posting

  • You're welcome, I was (gasp) 11; you're still a baby!

  • Where has all this great music gone to? Thank you for posting.

  • To tell the truth satellite radio is about the only medium you can hear these rare favorites on.

  • Not true at all, Lighthouse still tours Canada. However, they play a limited number of shows a year as many of the guys have other obligations.

    Thanks for posting!

  • I still hear this on the radio station.
