I remember a few years ago, he showed up at Eagle for the Nebraska Cup, he was one of the few that had the balls to run through the holes that are Eagle in 1&3. I was so impressed, a few of the local's are the only ones ballsy enough to run through them wideopen. I wish I could of met the man, I still have Eagle Nationals flyers with him Headlined on em.
Well this is my first time hearing about Jesse, I am so sorry to hear about this great driver, I will remember the talent Jesse had shown the world and to the creator, he was a shoe I will never forget.
I got the privalage to meet jesse and he was always smileing rather he won or wrecked that night he was smiling we love you man and we miss you dearley god speed
This young man was always awesome to watch. He was one of the greatest I've ever had the privilege to see in action and he is and will be missed. God bless his family and crew. Our prayers are with them.

a truely awesome racer. great video. he was taken to young and to soon. i didnt know him personally. i seen him race and walking around speedway. he was only 26 and had only been married 2 1/2 months. his poor wife :( speedway has lost a great dirver. he was an insperation to me
Just can't believe it. Watching Randy Martin drive Jesse's car Sunday night felt so strange. My heart goes out to Jack, the rest of the family as well as Hadley and the entire Hockett crew. I hope you find peace and can move forward.
Great Tribute TY Slash-Man gone far to soon saddening 2 weeks and rocket laid to rest today.I enjoied his smile personality passion to drive the hell outta everything he drove he sat in.I spoke with him several times at races seen him finally win osky last year was Awesome and he always had time for you and that smile TY Man.Gods Speed Will miss you Rip Rocket.
He was the last of a dying breed of daring racers who were fast in every type of machine... As the sun set on Jack Hewitt's career we thought that species of racer had become extinct... But the this tough young man from Missouri burst on to the scene bringing us to our feet and now tears to our eyes... WFO on the rim forever!!!!
GONE WAY TO SOON.....god must have needed missouri's rocket.....i had the pleasure to chat with jesse back in the day, he was a pleasure to talk to.....i always kept up on his progress.....sure going to miss him.....he was a phenom....my heart pours out to his family....godspeed jesse....GONE WAY TO SOON.......RIP
WAY TO SOON......god did need a great driver, but it was WAY TO SOON for this missouri sprint car phenom.........RIP IN PEACE BUDDY.....HAD THE PLEASURE TO CHAT WITH YOU IN THE PITS.....wow, WHAT A PLEASURE......MY HEART GOES OUT TO HIS FAMILY.....JESSE HOCKETT WAS THE BEST......
rest in peace jesse you will be missed i met him when he came to ohio for speedweek the first time when his cousin/crew chief was still alive and i spent like all of speedweek talkin to him and met back up at knoxville he was always one of my favs and i will miss the rocket
Jesse was my racing inspiration, i hope that some day i can be half the driver that he was. R.I.P. "The Rocket", gone but not forgotten. You will be in our hearts and minds forever.
I will miss watching Jesse race! I will never forget when he won the Ron Schuman Classic at Lakeside Speedway. I talked to Jesse numerous times and he was always a great person to be around. RIP Jesse! I will never forget you!
It is always unfortunate to lose such a good young person, but when it is a fellow racer, it just seems to make it worse. He even ran #13 just like me . My sympathies and prayers go out to his family.
Rest in Peace friend... You were a giant among men. One of the best multi-talented drivers to have ever wheeled sprint cars in the past century. Your last weekend proves just how great you were, 3 races over 3 nights and 3 wins for the "Rocket". I am overwhelmed with grief right now. On your victory lap upstairs be sure to fly it in hard up along the wall Jesse you were my hero!
