Wow, things can change A LOT in a year. In this video he looks healthy, handsome, confident, etc., it looked like none of the things of the past had happened. BUT fast forward 8 or 9 months later and you can see in the last videos before his death and he looked ravaged, not by age, but probably because his life was spinning out of control again. So sad really. He was obviously charismatic and talented, he will be missed tons. We love you Corey!

I love Haim, but I do agree with this. Someone said that they wished he had the chance to fix his life. He DID have that chance. Many times. Haim had people who loved him. All he needed to do was reach out for help and he would have gotten it (hard core help) from numerous people. But his denial was too strong. He wouldn't listen to those who loved him. I think he always knew he wouldn't make 40 and at some point, just accepted it and did what he wanted. A shame.
How absolutely pathetic. It seems that what he might have needed most would have been what often fails: the geographic cure, albeit with intensive support around his need to accept that his relevance to anything Hollywood was completely over. At the end, he was only a laughing stop by the bottom feeders in the industry, and that includes the very exploitive Feldman.
I think you aren't taking into account the extent to which this individual's disease had progressed. I think he should have been taken out of his artificial world and false belief that he was still a celebrity. Notorious yes, but no longer a celebrity.
The more you read about these two, the differences between them emerge. I'm actually feeling guilty about what I wrote about Haim and at the same time, don't think people have really called Feldman out to the extent he deserves to be.
I am aware of what twenty years of serious drug abuse can do the the body and spirit. Even if he did manage to finally remain clean, the damage done to his body was probably irreparable.
Could be, but I can't believe he couldn't have entered into some process of recovery, if not to extend his days, or actually create a life- albeit with limitations. What I'm suggesting is that I think is that his empty pursuit of celebrity seems to have been part of what might have fed his addiction, and to remov him from the arena might have been an opportunity to redirect his attention to more realistic, possibly meaningful endeavors.
This situation was a huge shame. The guy had unbelievably handsome looks, raw talent that was bigger and better than Feldman's, and charisma up the ying yang. He literally threw it ALL away on drugs. I feel so sorry for him - always have. He could not overpower the monster. Imagine what he could have done if he'd stayed clean or gotten sober? The possibilities would have been endless. A waste of a beautiful human being, for sure.

We all make mistakes and no one is perfect, its not our job to judge others, and no matter how anyone looks at it, he is still someones family and they are going through the worst kind of pain you could ever go through in your entire life.

As a very capable praticioner of hate and mockery directed toward Haim (that is, until I learned more about the nature and extent of his difficulties) I would urge others to consider what is gained by continuing to heap negative shit on him. I really believe part of what occurred resulted from guilt by association and displacement of resentment of Feldman onto Haim.

I am taking it into account, unfortunately I really understand addictions I've never personally had an addiction But someone I love very much faces one everyday, and it doesn't matter if you take them out of that certain world, or give them ultimatums, or show them how much they are huring themselve.they won't get better until THEY want 2&until they have the strength 2& even when they decide they are ready it will b the hardest thing they EVER have to doIts not easy

I love Haim, but I do agree with this. Someone said that they wished he had the chance to fix his life. He DID have that chance. Many times. Haim had people who loved him. All he needed to do was reach out for help and he would have gotten it (hard core help) from numerous people. But his denial was too strong. He wouldn't listen to those who loved him. I think he always knew he wouldn't make 40 and at some point, just accepted it and did what he wanted. A shame.

How absolutely pathetic. It seems that what he might have needed most would have been what often fails: the geographic cure, albeit with intensive support around his need to accept that his relevance to anything Hollywood was completely over. At the end, he was only a laughing stop by the bottom feeders in the industry, and that includes the very exploitive Feldman.

I think you aren't taking into account the extent to which this individual's disease had progressed. I think he should have been taken out of his artificial world and false belief that he was still a celebrity. Notorious yes, but no longer a celebrity.
The more you read about these two, the differences between them emerge. I'm actually feeling guilty about what I wrote about Haim and at the same time, don't think people have really called Feldman out to the extent he deserves to be.

I am aware of what twenty years of serious drug abuse can do the the body and spirit. Even if he did manage to finally remain clean, the damage done to his body was probably irreparable.

Could be, but I can't believe he couldn't have entered into some process of recovery, if not to extend his days, or actually create a life- albeit with limitations. What I'm suggesting is that I think is that his empty pursuit of celebrity seems to have been part of what might have fed his addiction, and to remov him from the arena might have been an opportunity to redirect his attention to more realistic, possibly meaningful endeavors.

This situation was a huge shame. The guy had unbelievably handsome looks, raw talent that was bigger and better than Feldman's, and charisma up the ying yang. He literally threw it ALL away on drugs. I feel so sorry for him - always have. He could not overpower the monster. Imagine what he could have done if he'd stayed clean or gotten sober? The possibilities would have been endless. A waste of a beautiful human being, for sure.
