  • the dressing up and acting looks weird as hell, but i'd go fight a battle like this anyday, im pretty skilled with melee weapons, just get my ninja traceur outfit and kick ass ,:j

  • @mightsnipe I agree, ha I would have 2 swords and foam brass knuckles

  • i wish i could larp :/

  • So, i dont want to dress up, i dont want to roleplay, i just want to beat the living shit out of a bunch of people with foam weapons :D

  • @mightsnipe You have to dress a little funny for a regional battle, but roleplaying is NEVER mandatory. If you want neither, local practices usually have no garb required, so you could just go to small practice events instead of the public battles.

  • larp is awesome but tower shield is definitely not fun

  • @duytan2590 Until you know the weaknesses of tower shields, that is. It gets to be a more serious problem when you're outnumbered by towers, which is usually the case. 1v1, I can take on and beat most people of similar combat experience who use a tower, because at just a few years practice level, there are a lot of things you never learn to defend from by relying on a tower shield. And, please newbies, use flails, I love catching them in my axe and ripping your weapon out of your hand. ;)

  • @KedricVarangia well, since I like rouge style, I mainly use short sword, sometime dual wield short swords so tower shield is very hard for me to counter if they notice me, especially when head shot doesn't count, the tower shield cover them from shoulder to toe so I can't 1v1 them.

  • larp is awesome im may join one soon my dad wants to know what it is soyeah if he likes it we go to the shops get the materials and make my axe.

  • @UltraGrunt79 damn ur lucky, all mine did was beat me and leave the family :/

well don't need one if you got an awesome mother and can make stuff urself :P

  • Larping looks cool but i want to get laid some time in life so i wont be attending a battle anytime soon.

  • Moron.

  • @FpsGamer43 : Most of the people I know that fight are not virgins. Ladies like a physically fit man who can get down and dirty.

  • Most people miss the distinction between boffer combat and LARP, so I just call it LARP, but you're absolutely right, they're not the same. Boffer is just Live Action, without the Role Play. And the Marine Legion is welcome any time they can make it to a battle. Questions on dates and locations? Message me.

  • This isn't really LARPing though.... it's closer to boffer simulated combat. But either way, fun stuff. Some of our more prominent Maine Boffer Legion members want to fight at a Dagorhir event.

  • @yachpiss You sir are a fail-troll.

  • @KedricVarangia seriously man the costumes look fine solely because there are no stupid people pretending to be purple elves and wolves ruining the concept of having a realistic battle.

  • larp is lame

    dagorhir is awesome xD

  • FAGS

  • i think once i had a lance thrown at me "with a sharp edge" and thanks to my Companion in LARP i was saved. i could've gotten my eye popped out if it wasent for his awesome longshield. "we choose to take it cause it was going to be a huge war between 40v40 people."

  • oh...and get better weapons and work out on your choreography ^^

  • Choreography? We don't choreograph anything. If you score a hit its cause you could score the same hit with a real weapon, not because its planned. To win you need to be physical, there aren't levels or classes or races, its just about how good you are at foam combat. It won't look as good to spectators, true, but it's not about having people watch, its about having fun, having your abilities challenged, and getting a good workout.

  • maybe I explained it the wrong way ^^ 't was no offence, really. my thought was about fighting moves and motions. there's no need to plan something, but if any of you guys made the weapons look heavier by playing out the realistic weight of a sword, for example, if you tried to "feel" the opponent's hits and act if you were really hit, then I think everybody (especially you players) could have nore fun. I know, it's not for audience 'n crowd, it's just for you.

  • @LycanRace having used a real-steel sword in a variety of situations now (two years later) I can say that first, steel doesn't behave much differntly, it's heavier, but it moves faster because it's aerodynamic, unlike our swords. Secondly, some of the strikes are really light on purpose, because we go easy on someone who is already basically dead. (It hurts a bit to get hit, obviously)

  • @LycanRace

I agree, it is very difficult to keep track of hits and scores in this game or at least if it were to be a game, still.... to properly have a foam sword battle with multiple opponents and at the same time making sure it is easy to tell if someone has been hut there would need to be some sort of idea that allow other fighters to tell whether or not someone has been hit or not.

Because when someone is hit they can't necessarily tell whether they have been hit easily.

  • @KedricVarangia You're a homo.

  • @MonsterXv And you are somehow better, having nothing to do but call LARPERs homos? I'm impressed by your blatant obvious heterosexuality and lack of a life. There is no reason in hell for you to watch this video if you don't like LARP, so the only other reason you could watch it is because you have no life.

Also, it takes one to know one. And, is it really such a bad thing to be a homo? Nope.

  • it is kinda cool ill try it

  • whats the name of the track?

  • im kinda ashamed admitting this but... thats kinda cool

  • I still feel kinda dumb when I get out there, but once I get a few bruises, get shot a couple times, I forget how stupid I look. :D

  • you'd look better, if you put a little more effort in your costumes and playing. and tell those guys with the spears and lances, not to stab their opponents- can get very danerous, if the fiber-glass core-staff will break (very sharp edged!)

  • looks kinda fun

  • its awsome wish hawaii had larpers

  • lmao notice that one kid in the green gets headshotted like 5 times

  • The videos like these where everyone just has weapons look like a lot of fun. I've watched some where there are classes and you can do spells, and those seem a lot less interesting. Sweet video.

  • neh airsofting looks more awesome but such a rip off LOL

    cya

  • I'd personally love to be able to do this, altho im only 13 so its a bit out of my depth yet, plus im in N.I....... if anyone knows a group in northern irelnad please comment on my profile!!!

  • its actually really fun, if you're doin the killin. getting killed sucks.

  • a friend of mine does larping here in the UK... he dates an FHM model.... nuff said...

  • Holy shit.. xD

  • You know whats sad and gay? Someone like you who watches videos they don't like just to comment on them being "gay". Whats wrong with being gay anyway!? You're a homophobic bigot. -wide grin- But we still love you!

  • Comment removed

  • Gay is not synonymous with stupid. In case that word was too big for you, stupid means to be unintelligent.

  • lol that chick ( its a chick...right?) in 1:04 was like "bitch you thought you were getting away!"

  • You should get one too, if you have nothing better to do than watch videos of stuff you don't like. ;)

And i'd probably move out of my moms basement if I were you.

  • Says the man who trolls on YouTube.

  • lol

  • OMG FFS! Cant People just grow the fuck up and not judge people for what they do, its honestly ridiculous to comment on something you've never tried.. chirst- arseholes.

  • Comment removed

  • That is the most agreeable comment on YouTube. EVER. Give this guy a round of applause!

  • You nerds are funny!

  • awesome clip at 1:31 :D

  • jesus christ...

  • does anyone know what state this is in??? and any in or near wisconsin?

  • dagorhil is in Ohio

  • sweet

  • are there any larp events in new york

  • i think that most LARPs that go on are in New York!

  • Well, actually, 1. Dagorhir is less of LARP and more of wargaming or boffer-fighting. and 2. You can find dagprhir chapters all over america, as well as a few in canada, 1 in Puerto Rico and 1 in Japan

  • ROMANS!!!!!!!!

  • Dagorhir uses camping pad. Its durable, and you can glue layers on to form blade-shapes. Providing a more realistic motion to the weapon. I would recommend using camping pad, 3 layers for blade areas. Its generally blue and found at wal-mart here, not sure what you have in houston, but the total pad should be about 1.5inches on striking surfaces. It will sting, but you shouldnt feel core or any bone-jarring impact.

  • If you get good at carving the foam, would the foam from a Dance Dance revolution soft pad work?

  • That shouldn't even have crossed your mind... but maybe. Its probably quite durable stuff.

  • what do they make their wepons out of?

  • Mostly foam with a latex cover to make it look good

  • Cloth covers are used in this sport, latex is not resilient enough.

  • Seriously, is this a joke or something?

  • no its ppl having fun :D

    5*

  • does any one know of any larp events in Fresno, California?

  • does anyone know if there is larp events in Northern Ireland?

    if yes wb

  • Nice editing

  • Good editing. I liked it.
