Hey Dave, why dont you start a fund raiser on like your facebook, twitter, myspace etc.? I mean if your subscribers donate the money for the movie, then you can finance the movie yourself. I mean you may (may not) get the 2-3 million for the movie but its a start. I know i would donate some money, your skits are funny as hell.
I don't know if it gonna work. But try making more professional work. Y'know. Make awesome intros. Make HD videos(you already doing it). Try using more kind of a...hmm...how i should call....maybe make original videos? I know you're doing comedy. But I think (no offense) comedy is going down. Everybody is doing like daily vlogs like shaycarl. RWJ doing entertainment videos. Just you'know. Try create an idea that will make a BLAST for everyone. Good luck. Hey Dave. I'm involved in a non-profit and this has worked for us in the past for various projects. Why not start a pledge page where people who want to see your movie can go post or sign-up to pledge to go see it when it comes out. Allow people to make comments and such. I'm not saying that will guarantee anything but it's one more thing that might push those in the position to finance it feel a little better about their investment. I'm with you bro! Don't ever give up!

I been on youtube a long time, seen alot of people come n go. I dont make much content myself but hell i watch ALOT of others. Just from personal experience, ive seen channels get a massive boost just from being in other peoples videos, and then a link to their channel is in the description box. You only have to look at raywilliamjohnson and his Vlog channel, who evers in his videos, gets their channel linked and their sub numbers jump. Maybe you gotta try get in the mix with that sort of stuff

@drewallum1 Why are you trying to couch Dave on how to do his Ship man? Hes been on youtube, actually MAKING video's for years. YEARS! And, What have you done? Who have you worked with? Giving examples like eddie, and jamie and Chris is such a generalization to acting it's incredibly cocky and disrespectful. They didnt start on youtube, they just got lucky and showed up at the right audition.
@Tavevision there's no need to get defensive. Dave seemed stressed about getting the respect he deserves on youtube and furthering his career. As one of his many loyal fans, I just noted some of the things he can do to improve his perception to the average person who hasn't seen or heard of him yet. The examples I gave didn't start on Youtube, but are household names thanks to their comedy. David Spates should be a household name. The way to get better is to see where u can improve.
I think the fact that you're venting here shows you ARE human, not just some internet actor. You're one of the funniest people I've seen on youtube. I think you have GREAT potential as an actor. I've told people about you, people who have later subscribed to you. Keep doing your thing, man, don't give up. You're doing a good thing.

3) Post more often. The community loves seeing you. Do 3min on the toilet - 2/week (Hell, =3 has his formula down and look where that got him. Your funny ass-perspective is what took that last video you did to 1mill hits

"Focusing" your channel will bring you the noteriety you deserve. Use " Laughandpeealittle" for jokes and funny stuff. Create a "Behind the scenes" page so that the fans can get to know you. The ASA thing, not beef for me, just me talking to my people & him telling them the truth. For people who just want comedy, they just watch the sketch comedy playlist. But for people who want more of the real me, more interaction, they watch everything, funny or serious because a lot of them can relate :-)

Well the fact is that there are so many people trying to accomplish the same thing you are. As you said google and youtube are just running their bussiness, but most likely have no true intrest in the people actually making videos. What I recommend you do is try promote yourself through an already successful youtuber like shanedawson...etc. than once you have an assload of subscribers, contact filming agencies from there.

Just had a thought , why not raise money from friends ,fans and family ? Hollywood won't drop a ton of money to an unknown and a lot of decent none Hollywood movies have made big money with low budgets. Doesn't take 2 million to make a good movie.

try emailing bigger youtubers, and have them email bigger youtubers, and so on and so forth until somebody can get a hold of somebody big carrying your message. thats my advice. your a funny guy and deserve th have your movie made

I would go to some of the big tubers and have them help push the making of the movie people like Shane Dawson, RayWilliamJohnson, Phil, Shay, TheStation, Iman, hell even Fred you have them all make videos marketing this and I guarantee it wouldn't take long for you to get that phone call.

Just like the Rednex said, recording studios is soon going to be a thing of the past since it's the people with the knowledge and talent. The tools are cheap, any computer(or group of computers) can do anything those multi-million dollar recording studios. With a proper mic setup I'm even sure you can fake a soundproof room with low quality sound dampeners, like Tim Horton's cup trays.

Hey Dave, why dont you start a fund raiser on like your facebook, twitter, myspace etc.? I mean if your subscribers donate the money for the movie, then you can finance the movie yourself. I mean you may (may not) get the 2-3 million for the movie but its a start. I know i would donate some money, your skits are funny as hell.

Hey Dave. I'm involved in a non-profit and this has worked for us in the past for various projects. Why not start a pledge page where people who want to see your movie can go post or sign-up to pledge to go see it when it comes out. Allow people to make comments and such. I'm not saying that will guarantee anything but it's one more thing that might push those in the position to finance it feel a little better about their investment. I'm with you bro! Don't ever give up!

I been on youtube a long time, seen alot of people come n go. I dont make much content myself but hell i watch ALOT of others. Just from personal experience, ive seen channels get a massive boost just from being in other peoples videos, and then a link to their channel is in the description box. You only have to look at raywilliamjohnson and his Vlog channel, who evers in his videos, gets their channel linked and their sub numbers jump. Maybe you gotta try get in the mix with that sort of stuff

Ur stuff is great!! About getting views..i guess you have to shape up somewhere..not material wise, but more in layout..ie. it would be nice to see ur videos start with better animation.

As one of his many loyal fans, I just noted some of the things he can do to improve his perception to the average person who hasn't seen or heard of him yet. The examples I gave didn't start on Youtube, but are household names thanks to their comedy. David Spates should be a household name. The way to get better is to see where u can improve.

"Focusing" your channel will bring you the noteriety you deserve. Use " Laughandpeealittle" for jokes and funny stuff. Create a "Behind the scenes" page so that the fans can get to know you. Well the fact is that there are so many people trying to accomplish the same thing you are. As you said google and youtube are just running their bussiness, but most likely have no true intrest in the people actually making videos. What I recommend you do is try promote yourself through an already successful youtuber like shanedawson...etc. than once you have an assload of subscribers, contact filming agencies from there.

The tools are cheap, any computer(or group of computers) can do anything those multi-million dollar recording studios. With a proper mic setup I'm even sure you can fake a soundproof room with low quality sound dampeners, like Tim Horton's cup trays.
