  • Lots of vignetting with that Jag 35

  • @RaleighLifestyleTV Yup, and you can zoom past it a bit before you lose the camera's focus on the adapter. I sold my Jag and put my money to better use with a Canon T2i DSLR.

  • Out-flippin' standing. Love the stop sign / trash / barf sequence. Ditto the ending! Double ditto your camera and its quality. Quadriple ditto Oscar!

This video and Grasslands both rock.

Cats eat grass to self medicate. Grow some oat grass in the winter for them and watch them smile!

  • @summersam08 Thanks :) I haven't seen this video in a while and I can't stop laughing at my cat's face expression as he's about to barf!

  • @joejumps4fun LOL the first time I saw it I was rolling. How many times have I seen that look! and they're like, "Look! I'm Barfing! I'm Barfing!" -- Thanks for the retro-laugh!

  • You should had slowmod the cat vomit for extra art effect.

  • Your videos are absolutely amazing--you're so talented! But I was dismayed to see Oscar get sick. A bit too much grass? I trust he recovered quickly and is okay now. His commentary on one of your other videos was brilliant. I have a Havana Brown and am convinced that they are the best breed in the world!

  • Yes they are very nice cats :) Oscar likes to eat grass a lot and doing this makes him vomit occasionally. I don't know why he does it but he's okay.

  • Excellent video, for a first shot at the Jag35.

Btw Sir, may I ask why you'd suggest an FD mount but not an EF? Why would it be pointless for the Jag35?

    Thanks. :)

  • Because the point of using an EF mount is for electronic focus control. A Jag35 or any other DOF adaper is not going to be able to use this feature since you're manually controlling the focus. An EF would be good to use with a digital SLR, but not a video camera with DOF adapters. So if you get an EF, you're spending extra money for a feature that won't work, when you could save hundreds of dollars by getting an FD lens that works the way it's suppose to on the DOF.

  • Cheers for the explanation, really appreciate your ever-helpful responses.

Another n00b question if I may - reason I asked was I already have access to a few lenses with EF EOS mount, so with that I thought it'll be useful for me to get a JAG35 with EF mount, considering almost all the lenses at my disposal have manual focus options available as well. Would it still be advised in my case to go for FD?

  • your an artist bro.

  • wow, thanks man--you've got to help me make more funny videos sometime...

  • everything looks more prittyer.. oh and HI OSCAR!!

  • Wow joejumps4fun, if only all of us could live in a paradise as this...

  • lol, it's meant to be funny and artistic as the same time.

  • Hi Joe, can you please tell me how you've put everything together as I understand that if you just super glue the adapter and the lenses the image comes flipped. Sorry for any spelling mistakes. Many thanks!

  • Hey--I'll make a video showing my camera rig soon for you to see.

The adapter screws on to the camera's threads and the lens on to the adapter--no glue involved. Yes, the image is flipped but I hold my camera upside-down so I don't have to flip it in post. Check in a week--I'll have a video up for you :)

  • Yes--if you'll be using a Jag35 adapter, I recommend an FD lens...an EF lens is pointless to use with the Jag35. For thread size, it depends on the camera you're using. If it's a Canon HV20, 30, or HV40, get 43mm threads on your DOF. Feel free to ask me any other questions you may have :)

  • Did you get your lenses from Jag35 as well? Are they canon? can you please give me a link. I want to know what did you use exactly for this footage bcz is the best I've seen. :)

  • No, I bought my lenses from ebay--I have a Canon FD 50mm f1.4 (what was used in this video) f1.8, and 35mm f2.4. Jag35 does sell lenses but you may be able to find them cheaper on ebay. Shop around before you buy--you're certain to find a deal on lenses somewhere. I got my 50mm 1.4 for $70 bid, 1.8 was $40, and my 35mm was $15 bid. I'll try to get a demo video up soon :)

  • Again me, I just want to know what mout type you've got and what is the thread size , can't find it on google. Many thanks, I just want to order everything asap :)

  • Hi there, can you please tell me what settings you had on your camera when you shot this? I find a better quality normal hdv that cinema mode combined with hdv24f native without the adapter.

  • The only settings I used were HD24F and spotlight mode. The rest of the magic comes from Jag35 lens adapter and 50mm lens.

  • 1st...cool cat
