Palatino EUB pick up styles.

sorry for the late reply. A preamp helps with tone and EQ issues. I had the action on the VE500 pretty low. The strings were almost laying on the fingerboard. That might have been too low. I have the action a tad higher on my Eminence Upright.

Hi Bob,

I have the same bass, but mine worked fine when I got it. I, however, am trying to get a better sound to help with the thinness. Any recommendations? Also, any good recommendations on setting it up so I can play easy like Brian Bromberg? ;) MAN! Looks so effertless when he plays, like his action is BUTTER. Thanks for taking all the time to post your stuff up here. :)

Hi bobrbass, I been playing acoustic uprigth for a few years, and for some time I been thinking about buying a Palatino EUB. My question is; can you really tell the difference between the Palatino EUB and a bass guitar sound? some people told me that the only difference is the shape, but I think you know a lot about this basses.

Hi,

I heavily modified the palatino you see in the video. I thought I had a pretty fair approximation of an upright bass sound. Type " SSQ boats and bluegrass" here at youtube and you should be able to heaer a good sound clip of the Palatino in action.
