  • always check ur blood pressure Bob..

  • dude........it had the freakin joker in it!!!

  • its called instant gratification! people would rather spend $60 at a movie then come home to a dark house where the electricity is shut off due to lack of payment on the bill then to just lay $60 down on electricity and have to stay home. people have their priorities all screwed up.

  • Screw liberal anti-White Hollywood.

  • Welll....the movie was amazing..lol

  • I'mma spend 110 dollars to punch my own shadow repeatedly...just put a Wii directly in front of it!

  • Americans always bark like dogs.

  • @majamr7 Better to bark like a dog than hide like a mouse.

  • @TheFranconator

How did you know that we hide like mise?

  • you realize movie tickets cost about $6 now multiply about lets say 50 million people who watched it in america alone now you have to add the rest of the people in the would who have seen it so yes it does add up

  • this is exactly what i don't get about this country. i mean sure prices on everything from gas to food are going up, and things still seem the same to me, even before people started losing there jobs in massive numbers i've never lived in fear of waking up one day and not having any food, and we hear about how bad the economy is all the time? yet we spend millions of dollars on athletes and movie stars, i don't get it, something is very very wrong with our monetary and value systems

  • i Agree with you bob, and besides, batman movies are Lame anyways. They're not as good as the Halloween Series with the killer Micheal Myers.

  • I am worried about your blood pressure, Bob. Take it easy!

  • Air conditioning is a luxury Bob, not a necessity. Going to see a movie for $50 isnt going to put you and your family out on the streets.

  • most pathetic people who waste money? These women you see in gyms WALKING on the treadmill. Or anyone who owns a treadmill which can only be walked on rather than ran on. I can't believe the world's become so lazy that walking counts as going out of your way to do exercise. It should be part of every day life. If its less than 3 miles, fuckin walk! Its easy and you won't spend money on petrol or a bus fare. Trust me. If you walk everywhere you barely have to think about your diet.

  • Because we all know that a movie costs just as much as your mortgage.

  • Imagine if that 400 million went to help the homeless or something....

  • @SB80100 Oh, then precious Hollywood people wouldn't be rich, with 2 mansions and 4 dozen cars.

  • @SB80100 Those people believe the homeless deserve to be homeless despite the fact they don't know them.

  • I also notice that every Olive Garden and Red Lobster parking lots are full even on a Monday night in the city I live in. I guess the economy dosen't effect everyone. Must be nice.

  • this guy make my head hurt

  • @Bob,

    You. Are. An. Idiot.

  • Here's what doesn't add up Bob, why the fuck you're so obsessed with what people do with their money. In fact, them buying a ticket to see a movie helps you and the economy. Money needs to keep circulating. Also, the batman movie, seen probably by MANY teenagers, usually only have a cell phone bill. The rest of their fast food check goes to what they like.

Here's an idea, shut the fuck up and think for once dipshit.

  • @MinGophers

It's social commentary and comedy - get with the prog.

  • @aladon1965

Yes, but the commentary is dense and the comedy isn't remotely funny. He's a loudmouthed, opinionated moron.

  • how stupid are you bob? lets take your 400 million example. say the cost of a movie ticket was 50 dollars, even if people only went once to batman there would have only been 8 million people who aren't saving "every penny" even with more realistic numbers like 10 dollars a ticket, thats 1/7 the U.S. population.

THINK ABOUT IT DUMBASS - 400 million dollars there are 300 million in the country why dont you do the fucking math?

try thinking before screaming for once, maybe you'll get somewhere

  • i always here how the recession is hurting them...they post it on FB with there iphones

  • Jesus lads someone may tell him that's the international profit! Does he think that's the USA alone?

  • are you serious??? hey bob, just because you cant afford to go to the movies dosent mean that the country should sink to your level.

  • Let's put a smile on that face!

  • BOB FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!

  • Funny how the DWB apologists have completely changed the point of this video now that we've seen some of the effects of the recession.

  • youm know i saw the title and thought 'hmm how can he possibly lose his mind about that' now i see.

  • Bob even during the Great Depression. People always paid for their entertainment like a Caberet, a Burlesque, a radio, and a movie. People saved to watch or hear their entertainment. Going to a movie is only 2 1/2 hours of work out of 8 hours. Internet is only 5 hours of work. 1 day of work can pay for internet and a Batman movie.

  • Bob, what exactly are you arguing here in this video, that back in August 2008 you didn't think we were in an actual recession, or that you think people should've been spending their money more wisely? Or is there some other third point that I'm missing?

  • @chaband I'm sure he's arguing that the money could've been spent more wisely

  • @Shinaah yeah well the beauty of capitalism is that people get to spend money on what they want. Furthermore I have to disagree with you, if you watch the video again, you'll notice that Bob says "if we were really in the middle of a recession, then people wouldn't be wasting their money on Batman" and Bob also jokingly asks what will happen when we "really go into a recession." In August 2008, Bob clearly didn't think we were in a recession when he made this video. Ludicrous.

  • thats one of the many reasons why i hate batman overprced tickets

  • Anyone that dislikes this probably doesn't understand his point anyways...too slow :)

  • @nathanhawthorne44

derp wut da hell is wid dis guy da fag dont like batman!!

  • Comment removed

  • This guy is the biggest loser I've ever seen in my life. What a joke, screaming in front of his camera. HHAHAHAHHA

Bob you're a big loser that should seek anger management help.

  • I saw the Dark Knight on the premier =]

  • so i should stay at home and coward in inside a dark closet and tell the world

im scared we going through a recession ........i dont money to spend ....towel head osama and taliban were right ...we are infidels...hahahahahahaha give me a break

i love american and im going to spend my money and i dont give a fuck if you rather stay at home and make this stupid videos

  • @MRX31605 OK thats freakin it! Stop watching the freaking vids if thats the way you are....go spend your money on crack watch what happens! People like you are "infidels" so to speak, so just flat-out shut-up!

  • @MRX31605 No you are missing the point.. He is pretty much saying compared to the last big depression this is nothing, and people are using it as an excuse, but then they go and spend all their money on stupid shit. And then complain about how they have no money for food and what ever else. if you were really doing that bad off you wouldnt have gone and spent your money..

  • Its cause devoted fans come. Jesus if you know anything about pop culture, you would fucken know that people saw it over and over again!! Jesus! I saw it 9 times!!! And I'm not a super fan!!! JESUS!!!!!!! God I'm sure you would have spent money on something to take your mind of the shity world we live in, Jesus I'm sure you would spend money if you had the chance to see Gleen Beck! God think through the ways of others!!!!

  • @paulvstoaster oh shut up Jesus wouldnt spend his money like that so shut up

  • @TheHayden312 Jesus would! Jesus would buy fucken hookers!

  • @paulvstoaster like your mom right?

  • @TheHayden312 Yup like my mom.

  • @paulvstoaster wooooooooooooowwwww........

  • I am a fan of bob's work but this video is pointless it's like he ran out of things to bitch about I mean come on even in a recession people want to watch movies and enjoy themselves. not everyone spent 25 bucks on candy and 40-50 bucks on scalped tickets. Most of them spent like 9 bucks which isnt much even in a recession. "oh i cant afford to pay 9 bucks to see batman because im unemployed and there is a recession" whatever! even in a recession people still have money just not as much

  • @Zain844 i guess you like playing with your wii wii

  • Comment removed

  • @Zain844 rofl let me guess PS3 is Penis Size 3inchs

  • @Pwnstar1988

Are we still talking about gaming systems?

    i'm confused..

  • @Zain844 no lol you said. and im not talking about just gaming systems

  • @Pwnstar1988

I wasn't talking about penises either.

  • @Zain844 Oh oops, i miss understood you. Still funny though right lol thats all i was goin for with that post lol

  • ha ha seriouslt in this economy go to WAL_MART

  • Most people still have jobs, didn't you notice that? Batman movie sucked anyways

  • economically some people are retarded. just look at the cause of the recession.

  • great movie

  • bob in a reccession ppl are going to get depressed and want something to do to get their mind off of being bored and depressed. OFCOURE batman did well just like video games and other things like new smart phones do well because ppl arent just gonna say 'well its a reccession guess ill just do nothing' NO ppl are going to do what they want regardless whether they have to use credit cards or spend whatever money they have

  • @FastandFurious450 There is way more to this. The price to borrow money is so low, that people keep doing it. This is the underlying problem. Hell, we already punish savings and investment enough in this country without the easy low interest money available. People buy these things because they think that the easy loanable funds, are income. They are nothing but mortgaged future income. This type of spending will force a big recession to come.

  • What doesn't add is are the numbers that you failed to present. There's a resession and many people are out jobs. The number we never get is how many people still have jobs. People will still spend money regardless of the times. 400 million, average price of $9 a ticket and there's a TON of people that will go more than once. Still about 40 million people but people spend money, calculate food costs and say .20 cents off a gallon of milk everywhere, that'll add up too.

  • batman was cool

  • what doesnt add up is that your screaming about a movie that is quite good. dumbass you know nothing about anything except yelling......................alot

  • do you youre self know what you are saying

  • Seriously, Bob? History shows that movies always thrive during economic downturns. Right now, box-office receipts show a 3% increase over the same point last year. It's so predictable, it's practically a science.

  • @emantabrizi What, actually study the subject? That would be against the ethos of all those right wing hysterical whiners.

  • @jakefree24 ... You know, for the most part, I like Bob's videos. Sometimes, though, he just sees what he wants to see.

  • @therepublicanknight

he's illustrating a point and is using a flimsy example to do so. obvisouly, when the video was made he had to use a current example to illustrate his point (which is sound) but is not a good example...he gets better at such things in his later videos

  • movies began to thrive during the depression

  • with every vid you've made, i understand why you're pissed...i'm kinda pissed right now...WHAT'S NEXT????????????

  • This guy knows nothing about economics at all. Were losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month that year and he doesnt think its in a recession just because a bunch of people with a job and money went to go see a batman movie and bought special commodities. People were doing that during the Great Depression, just not as much of course, but people with money will spend it. This guy is so clueless its unbelievebable. Does he really think he knows something the world doesnt.

  • dont you need some ritalin ???

  • i think avatar is nearing the 1.5 billion mark

  • lol, it has now

  • @Coruscant98

    oh whata!

  • that's capitalism for you.

  • The same thing is going on with Paul Reubens (Pee-wee Herman) starting his stage show again. Mr. Reubens should still be at his home.

  • @Angie2343 what does that have to do with a recession?

  • Reubens is doing his stage show IN THE MIDST of the recession, stupid!

  • @meyrick3 why would he be on drugs? what does a recession mean to you?

  • hey vote 4 justice.. the answer to your question what does the recession mean to me? nothing,, most households can afford to spend a few pound to go to the cinama and watch a movie for gods sake. this guy is some sad case who instead of ranting on about fucking batman should think about doing something more constructive.

  • Americans are addicted to spending. Don't forget that they aren't paying with money. They're paying with credit and debt.

  • @TenderTrap86 I am not addicted. I stopped using my credit card. Haven't used it in like a month and a half. The last few times I used it, it was all under 50 bucks.

  • @scottieman2 Exactly what I'd expect an addict to say...

  • @TenderTrap86 Not using it for a month means I'm an addict?

  • @scottieman2 I believe the fact that my comment aroused something in you proves something...

  • @TenderTrap86 All it proves is that I don't use it every on everything.

  • @TenderTrap86 Yeah... oh, oh! Remember that time we all bought really expensive stuff with credit in the 20's and then the next ten years was the Great Depression!? HAHAHAH... oh wait...

  • @EdikShepherd My prediction is that there will be one more bailout for America, and one more for Europe. Then I'm expecting the bottom to really fall out. That's just my take.

They want to spend more money to get us out this financial fiasco? Does that make any sense, at all?

They're talking about reducing the defecit? What about the debt? The defecit is just a drop in a very, very large bucket.

The only time I turn on the news, now, is when I want to laugh. What a sham this all is. :)

  • @TenderTrap86 I'm actually considering moving the Denmark or Germany, any country with a stable economy where a lot of the people speak English, so that when I have kids they can live happy lives.

    It really is pathetic.

  • @EdikShepherd I don't think anywhere in Europe is a good choice. They have the same bullshit central banking system as America does. And, Europe's already started to show signs of atrophy, especially in Ireland and Greece, among others. What Happeend in Greece affected Germany in a big way, last year. That's my take, again.

Asia, would be the best choice, I believe. Any nation where there is more prodcution than consumption and more exports than imports is a very good choice, in my opinion.

  • @TenderTrap86 I'd rather live in poverty than the richest country in Asia. I love culture... and theirs is, quite frankly, acid trippy. No sir, no Asia for me.

  • @EdikShepherd Whatever.

  • at first i thought he didnt like movies, but he's complaining about how everybody is "out of money" yet they spend so much.

  • what the fuck his wrong wit hthis guy

  • are you freakin' kidding me? 40 million people spend ten dollars on a movie? No wonder there's a recession. These eggheads need to learn the value of a buck.

  • and thats y theres downloading lol

  • SOMETHING doesnt add up!!! SOMETHING DOESNT.... ADD.... UP!!! LOL

  • Well the wanna have a good time and not everybodys poor but good point

  • 400 million is cashed in globally bob...

  • LOL

  • plus the dark knight totally sucked ass:P

shit the usa must really be doing bad if it costs 40-50 dollars for one ticket. in canada it is 8 dollars on most days but only 3 dollars a ticket on tuesdays.

  • Tickets cost 9-10 dollars or 6.50 for matinee. the $40-$50 tickets were probably for the very first screening ever

  • Use your fucking head. A fucking movie theater isn't going to charge 50 bucks for a fucking ticket.

  • he said scalpping which means someone buys tickets and selling them for 3X 4X or even 5X

  • hes talking about scalping...when tickets are sold out they raise prices on ones they have...dark knight was an amazing...went to the movies tonight actually and paid 8.50...so shut up USA>canada

  • Yeah... your name really describes you.

  • JUJUBEEs LOL

  • So a Batman movie is more important than losing all of your cash to a recession? Think about what you just said and how badly you just fucked up. Oh, and btw, nobody is asking you.

  • umad?

  • Yeah kinda. Considering people in this country get fucking more and more retarded day by day. To the point where people live off of welfare. And then they go and spend money on a fucking movie. and 400 million dollars within 3 days. You know how much cash we owe China? I'm suprised they don't annhiliate us immediately.

  • China losing their biggest market? China's not North Korea they're not retarded. I doubt people who are on welfare would go see a movie. Most people who see movies are middle class not junkies getting payed money from the goverment. All in all I didn't make the first comment I don't care for the point of view of it.

  • Wow, all he did was make a comment about a movie.

  • well, i think here he did needed a better chair! maybe one like Abraham Lincoln had back in the days + a crown for his head!

  • Damn right dude.

  • GET THAT BOWL BURNING THOUGH!!!!!

  • wow, this guy is excited

  • During the great depression and many other recessions in history, the film indistry did just as good, if not better, than they did in 'regular' times. THAT'S A FACT.

FACT MEANS THAT IT'S IRREFUTABLE SO DON'T ARGUE

DO SOME MOTHER FUCKING RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SPOUT MORE OF YOUR BS ACROSS THE INTERNET

  • Don't tell anyone what they can or can't say. Yes the industry does well in ANY market because less food and soda a night out to movies is relatively cheap.

Now as for today it's a bit different. There's a movie theater on every main street anymore. Their in malls and complexes you either have to drive to or take a mass transit which in New York was 4 Dollars in 2008 and a ticket was 11.50. That's 15.50 per person to watch a movie.

  • Now... In 1933 a movie ticket was 50 cents and you could most likely walk 10 mins to the theater. In today's world that would the equivalent of walking about 5 blocks and paying 8 dollars for a movie ticket. Big difference.

In booming economies people party and spend -- not much time for movies. In TODAY'S market and economy a family of four would spend about 50 dollars EASY on a trip to the movies. We'll see how well the movie industry does during this depression. Won't be the same.

  • It's like you see a problem and do as little research as possible and then tell everyone your "facts."

People wanted to see a movie that made them escape reality aka the recession we were facing. God forbid, people are spending ten dollars for entertainment and somehow it made 400 million the first week. Shit, it must have been a damn good movie.

  • i hope you don't have a heart attack i'm really enjoying your videos

  • i bet if people payed to see a fucking retard get himself so worked up over something that is beyond his control, you wouldnt have a problem with it. bob i think you need to get a fucking job. take a kolonapin and chill the fuck out.

and your going to sit there and tell me that you are like the only american who hasnt seen batman? get real dude.

  • Hes as worked up as in every other video of his.

  • Hes only freaken out because he wants to get the point across, it drills it into your head, or for some of you just makes you want to post stupid remarks and crap :S

  • whats next? ill tell you whats next! batman kicks ass! & you need to be punched in the face!

  • its true though. instead of me getting a gym membership i just bough my own work out equiptment, its an investment.

  • Something Does not Add up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • are you a fucking lawyar?

  • Of course Batman made 400 million..........40 million people were bored with their pathetic uneventful lives and wanted to see what it would be like to actually have some control over their freaking lives!

  • Do the math, people, and you will find that something sure doesn't add up!!!! You got that right, Bob!!!! Thanks for noticing all these things nobody else seems to notice & telling people to PAY ATTENTION

  • so what man it's not as if it's your money?

  • you should start your own country

  • you really should run for president,

i think you are very right.

  • a dick like you wearing a paths of resistance t-shirt? the band must feel ashamed right now

  • always right brother, u should replace that stupid antichrist nigr obama

  • Anti-Christ? Don't give Obama that compliment!

  • hehe right

  • please become president of the world

  • yeah this guy can definenly be the president of the world.

  • @tobarrr ... That would require Bob to stop making videos and actually run for public office...something he would never do.

  • @tobarrr please stop riding this guy's dick so hard.......he is gettin an asshole rash from you faggot

  • putting your money in your pocket is quite possibly the worst thing possible for the economy. IF YOU HAVE MONEY, SPEND IT. its a smiple chain effect. a compony starts up, and then sells goods. people buy goods, economy/buisness succeeds. AND THE ECONOMY GETS BETTER. instead, people are getting so worried that their going to loose their job, and their not spending any money, and the economy IS GOING DOWN THE SHITTER.

  • very true

  • This guy is growing on me i gotta admit lol.

  • the income effect of economic theory says that as wealth/income drops, demand for normal goods goes down, in place of inferior goods. I suppose going to the movies is inferior for many folks.

  • Mmm. Another delicious video of Bob condensing immense problems down into a 2 minute screaming match.

Not everybody's completely broke. Not everybody's spending 100 dollars to go see Batman. People need an escape, now more than ever. That's one of the reasons why movies like that did well. But of course, none of that sits well with Bob here.

Come on now, Bob. You look like a sensible, intelligent man. Vids like this particular one is making you look like a moron...

  • Hey didn't the Movie industry thrive during the GREAT DEPRESSION????

  • the economy is only 'bad' because people cant afford as many luxuries as they used to

  • Love your T-shirt...

  • Yeah, that T-Shirt he's wearing is from a Hardcore band

  • Did you hear about 2008 Black Friday?

People swarmed to the stores in fact there were so many of them at a Walmart store in N.Y.C that they trampled a guy killing him just so they could save a few bucks.

They tore the doors straight off it's hinges while pushing their way through like a herd of wild buffalo.

If we were really in a recession would people be killing each other just so they could shop at Walmart?

My husband went to work at 4:30am that day and said every store including

  • WHATS the FUCK'IN DIFFERENCE between someone who speaks VOLUMES OF LOGIC who tells you what the fuck to do, or the FUCK'IN SHITTY ass GOVERMENT that you,, obliously suck the ever lov'in shit out of the COCK do us a favor go kill yourself
