Man.. this made me cry... seriously... This song means much to be.. It is too wonderful seeing those two old friends and musicians being back together.. PLEASE LED ZEPPELIN MAKE A REUNION WORLD TOUR!!!
I know this is not very masculine or anything. But if I was there, I would've been crying half the time. Led Zeppelin came together and proved many things, the most important being the undeniable FACT that they are, were, and always will be the most amazing thing to grace the stage of Rock And Roll. God Bless you, Led Zeppelin. And Plant, I know you don't want to tour with them, but there's still time to change the road you're on.
i saw the mid-1990s Plant-Page tour in DC, and man that was an experience. Had a friend of a friend who went to this show (the guy is friend's with JPJ, now that's a nice to beat out the 20million who tried for the lottery of the 20,000 tix!)
This as a DVD would also be a great Charity raiser, I'd pay top USD to have it in blu-ray to start my day great in every way. Who snagged these multi-camera shots, must mean a DVD is in the works somewhere with all the attorneys...
thanks for posting these videos. been a fan of zeppelin for god knows how long. and as much as i wanted them to tour, and would have been first in line to get tickets, in a way, i am so glad they didn't go through with it. it would have made this moment less meaningful and special. i want to see them live, but i can settle for the dvd release instead. and for any of the rare folks who got to see this event, be thankful and grateful you got to witness greatness. this is epic.......
I want this to be released ON DVD/Blu-Ray so freaking bad. I got to admit though for this particular song I think JPJ's keyboards are to loud in the mix. Could just be because it is not professionally shot. Still better than pretty much EVERYTHING being put out today though.
@guido2114 The original performances from the 1973 MSG concerts didn't see the official light of day for three years after they were filmed, and then took another 30-35 years before it was entirely released. Knebworth went longer: 24 years. Earl's Court went even longer: 28 years. Royal Albert Hall even longer still: 33 years. So I estimate we'll see this performance officially released somewhere between now and 2040.
vamos chicos por favor esta bn k no sean los mismo de antes pero son los originales los k crearon esas maravillosas canciones para mi siguen siendo los mejores del mundo YEAh!! I LOVE LED ZEPPELIN !!
Quakelord, i hope you were just comparing the fact that they both have tuned songs down a step, because if you were infering that metellica and Led Zep are in teh same league, well there isnt word for the ill deeds that will befall you, Led Zep is a SUPER group, metellica is a group of douches who were taught how to play 3 chords on guitar
Its also like how Metallica is with their songs now, the band's losing their higher voice but yet they're still great (I'm also referring to Led Zeppelin folks).
I can't believe Brian Johnson can still pull off his screeches.
I'd say out of the original Zep lineup, JPJ seems to be doing the best physically. Because he didn't get as involved in drugs. Page also still has it, I hope he and Clapton form that supergroup I've heard about.
Plant sounds a bit weak, but he's in his 60s, and it's way more demanding for a vocalist. Still, Led Zeppelin is Led Zeppelin, and they're the best.
is very good and easy to find any video of Led zppellin than a "Starway to heaven" with God on the guitar, the year of the video I do not recall, but if someone has it please upload it because it not only saw once.
Maybe it was nostalgia, maybe it was the red wine...but I found this really touching. The Mighty Zep...a planet in their own right , orbiting all our lives!
My opinion is that there obviously not up to there old standard. They are extremely good musicians, but robert had moved on now and his own music now is very different. I thinkthere all fabulous but there definatly not the same any more which is sad :(
I'm so sick of comments like this. You name me one person whose singing voice is EXACTLY the same as it was damn near 40 years ago??!! Also, how could he "ruin" the song? He wrote the damn thing and can interpret it any way he wants!! Geez.
cool to watch but why, in this day and age of state of the art sound technology, is Plant's mic getting high end feedback whenever he steps to it? i hope to hell they fired the monitor guy!
If Zeppelin would do another show anywhere in the world, I'd do anything to go! I'm 13... I wish I would have been born in the 60'so I could've enjoyed this!
I kind of like that this was played in Gm instead of the original Am key. Considering this is Robert Plant's least favorite Zeppelin song, he sounds great. Jimmy's tone sounds awesome too.
The reason Plant doesnt want to go on tour is that he doesnt want to be seen as an old man with nothing to do so he tours with his old band. Personally, I think it has everything to do with John not being around. Either way they know we want to see them, but Plant pretty much flat out said only for another good reason (charity event for a very good reason), they dont need the money.
Zepplin is powerful, but u can hear the age setting in, stairway was played a full step lower than the original, i guess plants range isnt what it used to be, but still it sounded great.
yes. through the Ahmet Ertegun Educational Foundation to raise money. also for posterity. that's why all the panasonic cameras are running around. Also, how would Jimmy explain to millions of fans that he didn't get this on film :?
Kire: this is the best sounding video. mainly because the audience noise is kept to the background...well done! can hear ALL of it. the bass is great! how on Earth did you manage it?!
It's not just whether it sounds "the same", it's the fact that he can still sing those words, thirty years later, after all he's been through...when you uncover something solid time and events don't change it.
In my perfect world, there would be an isolated camera on Page, and another on Robert, and another on Page & Plant.... Then I could choose which to watch each time.... But the Professional world is not yet there.... :)
