These choices for characters to parody were totally out of left field and weird, no wonder almost no one was laughing when this sketch was originally filmed!
I think Tony Rosato was an underrated member of the cast. His Belushi is brilliant, and he also did one of the best impressions of Lou Costello I've ever seen.
The irony about this bit is that had there been a rendition of this bit at the recent Second City 50th anniversary reunion stage shows, George Carlin would most likely have been impersonated by Joe Flaherty - because as Carlin sounded in his last years, was closer to Flaherty in his "shouting" mode (not to mention in terms of vocal timbre and quality) than to Rick Moranis as was the case on here.
Well, at the point this sketch was made, Moranis was indeed "the one." But if you saw any of Carlin's last HBO specials and heard the way he talked and all that (the timber and particular quality of his voice radically changed after the mid-1990's), his vocal qualities (as I said) had more and more in common with Flaherty.
Rick Moranis really hit Carlin on the head!

Lol I love Moranis-Carlin. Great impression. Kinda looks like him to. The mannerisms and such.

Interesting. And one only thinks of Moranis as the quintessential Carlin.

@wmbrown6
This was obviously meant to be the coked-up Carlin of the 70s. He made a radical change when he cleaned up at the end of the decade.
