  • Rick Moranis really hit Carlin on the head!

  • Wow, this is really good.

  • Lol I love Moranis-Carlin. Great impression. Kinda looks like him to. The mannerisms and such.

  • He makes a good point: why don't we say knocked in?

  • These choices for characters to parody were totally out of left field and weird, no wonder almost no one was laughing when this sketch was originally filmed!

  • Levy and Martin look exactly like Montalban and Hamilton. Brilliant---actor/actress playng someone playing someone else. Flawless

  • tracking!!!! this is indicative of the brilliance of sctv.

  • Andrea Martin is the PERFECT Margaret Hamilton

  • They all did good impersonations. I swear it's better than the one they showed us on High School.

  • hahaha this is excellent.

  • wicked which of the west cool

  • Was that really John Belushi?.

  • @jonquil4000 LOL! No; it was Tony Rosato 'playing' John Belushi.

  • @chalomirof63 Certainly has Belushi down pat.

  • @jonquil4000

    What are you, fucking stupid?

  • Oh grow up. Your insults only show how stupid you are.

  • Thanks for posting... MORE TONY ROSATO!!!

  • Oh, by the way - thanks for sharing all these clips. I haven't seen some of them in years, and I am seeing some (like this one) for the first time!

  • LOL - no problem. Sorry about the fuzzy line - an old videotape!

  • @jvblhc Totally agree, never mind the static lines, reminded me of the days of tracking on the remote, cheers

  • their adrenali-n-n-n-n, their adrenaline was pumping so hard! :)

  • I think Tony Rosato was an underrated member of the cast. His Belushi is brilliant, and he also did one of the best impressions of Lou Costello I've ever seen.

  • Absolutely and totally agree! And his Costello was dead-on.

  • @jvblhc

He was good....I love his Chef Marcello on Dating Game.

  • chalomirof63, you are a genius! I can't believe you have a copy of this rare bit! Thanks for posting and please keep them coming!

  • LOL! You're very welcome, but I'm not a genius; I just had the tape!! Sorry about the fuzzy line, but it's there for posterity.

  • The irony about this bit is that had there been a rendition of this bit at the recent Second City 50th anniversary reunion stage shows, George Carlin would most likely have been impersonated by Joe Flaherty - because as Carlin sounded in his last years, was closer to Flaherty in his "shouting" mode (not to mention in terms of vocal timbre and quality) than to Rick Moranis as was the case on here.

  • Interesting. And one only thinks of Moranis as the quintessential Carlin.

  • Well, at the point this sketch was made, Moranis was indeed "the one." But if you saw any of Carlin's last HBO specials and heard the way he talked and all that (the timber and particular quality of his voice radically changed after the mid-1990's), his vocal qualities (as I said) had more and more in common with Flaherty.

  • @wmbrown6

This was obviously meant to be the coked-up Carlin of the 70s. He made a radical change when he cleaned up at the end of the decade.

  • "If only I had the helmet of knowdlege...I just don't have the skills!!" LOL
