  • good work i have booked mine for this sunday lets how its gonna be :)

  • Taking my 10 year old tomorrow for his first time with his new 20 gauge,. These are excellent tips for instant success. I'll have him watch these and we'll use many of these cues. I wonder if this first time student is for real. If he is then the instruction is top notch breaking the first one like that at each position.

    Miserable looking skeet range.

  • Yeh he looks like a great instructor to learn off. Good advice i rekon.

  • Can any one tell me why they are firing towards traffic and those outer buildings?

  • @TheFender26 its only a shotgun it wont reach the traffic

  • Bayer57: Having a good coach or teacher is very important to becoming better at anything. Even professional golfers like Tiger Woods has a coach that helps him keep his game sharp. I'm not saying that practicing isn't important, and spending a lot of time behind the trigger isn't worthwhile, but it's ignorant to say that you can become the best by just "burning powder".

Remember...practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

  • somebody help ?

    im a nice pigeon shooter

    but a baddddddd clay shooter

    why???????????

  • @ArChILInEs shooting clays is nothing like the real thing

  • @bayer57, I couldn't disagree with you more. I began shooting trap, but did it infrequently as I found it rather boring. Still, I was able to hit about 20 to 22 targets of each 25. Then I took a lesson from an expert trap shooter. I'm now able to hit 24 or 25 each time. About three months ago, I discovered sporting clays and avidly shoot several times a week. Lessons from a pro are the only way to consistent improvement. Otherwise, you keep practicing your mistakes.

  • that man might be slipping for good to bad to worst... Freedom at least u are ++ improving..

Thats a very patient instructor.. cool ^^.. Going for my 1st shooting lesson today.. I wonder if the instructor will be as good as Mike.. zzz

  • great lessons !

  • this guys is a duster. sweet lessons if you gots the pigeons going in the exact same route over and over, and if you wanna spend all day pionting at clay pigeons. shoot the the god damn gun its not rockets surgerery eh.

  • this may be practising for clay shooting, but not for hunting.

  • @Oleee94 exactly

  • @Oleee94 of course

  • becoming a good shooter is not about having a good coach. to become the best it requires burning the powder.

advice-dont waste your money on lessons. spend it on shells and targets

  • Im 14 and mainly a rifle shooter, mainly bolt action ex-military, and no offence 2 aneyone but i reckon this teacher is a tad stuck up, also, im going shotgun shooting on the weekend, for the first time, and no-ones teachin me, just my dads m8 makin sure i stay safe

  • @LittleMaggot50 He's a good teacher but i would not personlly have lessons. Keep on doing what your doing, learning for your self is the best experiance.

  • Mike Williams taught me and made my lessons most enjoyable with his infectious enthusiasm.I even bought his gun ?Seriously top bloke!

  • Why is it that the quality of the average British shooting instructor so superior to the average American shooting instructor? I would have paid a premium to have this expert help me get started.

  • i had my first lesson on saturday last week at sywell range and smoked my first pigeon and im only 12

  • I was that newbe shooter, I had shot air rifle before and had just got my shotgun licence. I had tried to shoot skeet a couple of days before and failed badley, That was when Mike asked me if I wanted a lesson the following week, I got the lesson for free and Mike got a student to film. the site was Long Sutton, Norfolk

  • I highly doubt that guy was a newb. The first time i shot i got 5 out of 25. (but i did get 16 out of 25 the second round)

  • He is a beginner without a doubt. It is just good instruction by the looks of it. The targets were quiet easy.

  • shooting real game is best, not to kill just for a good day out. this man is good but i find if you think to much about lining then you misds dont wait for someone to paint you a picture get on it pull through and fire

  • Yes, it would be great if you can shoot real games anytime you like.Unfortunately, in US, there are seasons for game birds such as for doves, ducks, etc. So when the seasons are over, bird hunters would have gone to the skeet and trap range with friends to shoot some clays and have fun, thus camaraderies.

Of course you can just aim and shoot, but in order to train yourself to be pretty good at it, you should have some type or procedure on how to shoot the targets. I think it is very helpful, especially newbie like the gentleman in the clip; which is a good way to establish the good habit and break away the bad one.

  • Seems like that highway and those buildings are awfully close to the range, no?

  • i used to think the same thing but from my very limited experience shot spreads very quickly and have a relatively small range. most likely never over a hundred yards

  • who says hes a beginner...haha

  • is this filmed in salisbury??

  • mike williams looks to be an excellent teacher. patient and thorough instructions. thanks for the post.

  • I hate that man. How can he learn that fast. He shoots 3 times and hit 3 times. I practice and i get better slowly. But he gets it right away. I hate him. I hate him. I hate him.

  • i doubt the guy was a newbie

  • lol, I know the feeling ;-)

  • i went on a shooting weekend n did clay shooting it was amazing i really want to start it as a hobby

  • yes it is very easy when they keep them all coming in the same direction. when they start moving them is when it gets hard

  • im going next week what is the kick of the shotgun like ?

  • Im only 15 and weigh 100 pounds and I dont find the recoil one my 12 gauge bad I do however use low recoil shells thoough because it was made in 1939.

    I wouldnt worry about it

  • if you use proper stance it wont affect u much

  • I live in the U.S and there is a channel that is only for hunting and fishing and it has programs all about target shooting and gun reviews.

  • Totally right it would be great to watch shooting and reviews on diffrent gun and hints and tips There is fishing channels sor there should be clay shooting on tv.

  • same it would be great to watch it on tv.

  • No mate, because we're all bad people and shooting anything is looked upon negatively! Shame tho, I'd watch it!

  • is there a shooting channal on tv? like on the sky box?
