  • You cannot even begin to comprehend the sheer fucking immensity of the sound of these engines!

  • Such a beautiful bird!!!

  • Isn't that bit of a sharp climb?

  • Nice video, nice bird, shitty airline, flying to a shittier country.

  • I miss the whining sound of the early DC-10-30's General Electric CF-50's.

I used to spot first generation World Airways DC-10'-30's at Ostend Airport.

Sadly enough, they've all been replaced with MD'-11's and those sound much less exciting :-((

  • cuando estan en afanes secede despegues cortos

  • beautiful engine spool up, very beautiful aircraft, almost from an gone era I would say...

  • Nice see the bird .... it just amazing & nice video..

  • @thecravenator42069 It looks old and tired to me! It's 30 Years old.

  • what type of camera u have??? very nice like documentary video...

  • Those Early Generation GE-CF6 turbofans are becomeing a rare sound these days. Amazeing to think this plane along with the 747-100s and 200s as well as the L-1011 were the first generation of wide body transports.

  • old bastard :P

  • The dc-10 look very angry with the black spot under the cockpit! :)

  • what was the qantas 744 doin there??

  • Whooo! What a shot of that dc-10! Awesome sound and video quality!

  • Great video Simon I miss this seeing at LHR!

  • You can see the number 2 fan disk in this video, you never see one sense its so far back in the tube !

  • From far distance it looks like Turk Hava Yollari)

  • nice clear video and audio,it is an outdated aircraft but it is one of the original bohemiths.

  • such and uneconomical aircraft

look at the position of the elevators and how much surface areas there is into the wind

  • Congratulations!!!Yours videos are TEN!!

  • My favourite aircraft. Sorry to see they are no more production and not much around.

  • I love this video, i love the quality, i love how light and elegant the DC-10 looks flying off into the sunset, as if flying from your heart. simply fantastic.

  • i dint know DC-10's where still at use,

since there's a long crash history for DC-10's well at leats thats what i heared .

    still nice plane though

  • 1.02 looks Alitalia's DC10! LOL!!

  • Crazy climbing!!! Fantastic video! DC10 in my heart(with HIS fantastic sound lol!)

  • very light, quick takeoff and the pilots are daring spooling up whilst turning. il ike

  • Most likely they are pressurizing the plane and using the intakes from the bleed air from the engines instead of a direct input from outside. Then again, I am not an expert by any means on this plane but if I had to put money on it, that should be it. (It's not the crapper for sure....)

  • incredible quality, and the sound is just awesome... 5* + favourite!!

  • Why have I not commented before? ....superb Simon superb.

  • Amazing! Great job!

  • i kno it seems off the point nd all but, dont america not allow dc-10's to land their coz of how unsafe they are. that what i heard nyways, ny1 kno nything bou that?

  • Well they were unsafe during their popular period thats true, but a lot of the Cargo DC 10's in use today are far more safe considering the bugs were hammered out both expensivley and costly of lives, the DC 10 is a frequent flyer to KBGR Bangor Maine USA as well as its younger brother the MD 10 and 11. So I believe they still are operable in US airspace.

  • Ohhh, very evocative, and great how you showed the A320 to compare the elegant beauty of the DC-10 against the plain lines of the A320. I specially flew Biman Dhaka- Heathrow last year to enjoy flying in a '10 once again (1st and only prev time was Air NZ in '77, as a boy). That unique sound of the GE CF6s running, fodder for the ears! Top marks for your angles and lighting. A shame that the ex Monarch big 10 at Manchester wasn't preserved in her entirety. It features in April 'Airways' mag.

  • beautiful

  • Absolutely stunning video. Your a good videographer. I also like the color scheme of the Biman Bangladesh DC-10s. (Please rate this comment)

  • Great video !!5*

  • Wonderful video. 5 stars

  • Wow..., really nicely done! Many thanks!

  • Those engines sound so awesome while spooling up. Don't know much about DC-10s but the nose up trim seems a bit excessive.

  • One of the best aviation-videos on youtube!!!

Excellent filming, good editing, perfect sound - pls ask the worldairroutes-team to work for them ;)

  • Watched this one often on FL350. Still very great setup with the DC10 climbing into the evening sun! Very good quality, too!

  • at 1:29 the engine on da tail wing looks un even

  • That was a good video with clear clarity as always Simon. ^_^

  • Great video! I see you posted this after edetroit posted his Fs9 video of this same aircraft, do you watch his videos?

  • Yes I'm a edetroit subscriber. I think his FS videos are the best.

  • Indeed his videos are the best Fs videos, as yours are the vest real world :) regards.

  • its lovely to see a DC-10 again! last time i saw one of these was in the 90s! and as always your videographing just amaizingly smooth! I have seen well over 10,000 videos on youtube and i have never ever seen videagraphing like yours.

I should be going to gatwick today to walk the perimeter fence looking for good spots! IL-96 isn't due today. but saturday is always an option!

  • Looked almost like the quantas 747 video. Just a different plane

  • It was filmed on the same day as my Qantas 747 video!

  • No wonder. The sky looks exactly as the 747 video.

  • super hot video of a super hot DC-10 takeoff......thanks......peace out.

  • Very nice quality filming Simon!

  • Hi Andrew, thanks for the comment!
