  • ..you do know that stores sell suction cup logs correct? You just ruined your habitat by glueing those rods in their.. How exactly do you plan on cleaning it???

    Think next time... -.-

  • @HelloKittyKillah if he needs to clean it, he can sand the wood, and wipe it with a wet towel, and if he for some reason needs to clean the sides of the tank that thoroughly, he can remove the siliconed on parts with a razor blade, its simple

  • Great enclosure, really like the rain simulation. The brown water just has tanin from the log, harmless.

  • i like it

  • Do you have a list of plants you used for this build? I'll be building my own shortly, and I like the look of yours, especially that long, leafy one at the top of the waterfall.

  • where did you get the suction cups?

  • chondros like most jungle animals instinctivley drink from what they preceive to be fresh rain than stagnent pools of water. actually this is how i set up my chondro when i first got him, nice setup

  • very nice setup, you certainly wont have any problems with temp/humidity.

only thing i would advise you on is to flush out that brown water until you can get it running mostly clear, and spread your heat lamps to opposite ends of the hood

  • real nice tank man!

i'd say the GTP loves it

  • very cool

  • Don't listen to everyone else! That's a great setup you have there and your chondro should love it!

  • @chondrohead44 Thank you very much! I will upload a new video soon. Lucy is now all Green. but less could be said about the viv i suppose. Till then!

  • @terrakei Please do man! Can't wait to see how she is now. I'll have to film my chondros and cages.

  • The color of the water is likely just tannins from the wood running off and adding a natural brownish-red tint. It happens all the time in all kinds of setups and isn't anything to worry about, the only reason one would have to change it more than normal is for appearance.

  • hey wats up man has that silicone done its job by bonding the plastic to the glass....has you perches fallen out of place?...

  • @MrSerpent89 Hey man. It is still staying strong despite all the humidity and she loves her perches. The adhesive is really doing its job and its not budging. Well at least for now. Its been less than half a year so thats not really saying anything yet

  • @terrakei what kind of adhesive did you use?....cause i have a 422T boaphile cage and i want to put a perche on it...my green tree is an adult she is 4 ft in a half and weighs 975 grams....

  • @MrSerpent89 any silicone will work well. make sure it is completely cured before putting ur reptile back in. may i suggest a clear glass silicone? thats what i used. once cured it is odorless

  • Don't you know that GTPs also use the floor to stay on? They even can stay there for a few days. But in your terrarium isn't really much space to use on the floor. You should think about that and perhaps change a little bit...

  • you should paint the sticks a water proof non toxic brown paint

  • I would just be concerened about it drinking the brown water nice set up i use to do some cages like this now i just use paper towels but still looks pretty good anyways nice set up.

  • @jplumber100 Yes i was concerned with it too. But after watching him closely over a period of time i realize (thankfully) that Lucy only drinks off her coils and leaves and not from the pond. Yea after using tubs for my ball pythons im not too keen on doing it again. Crocodile skinks and a blue tree monitor might change my mind though heh.

  • @terrakei Wow other than the ball python you just described every reptile i want LOL WEIRD aha i'm hoping to get a blue tree monitor, red eyed croc skink, and a green tree python! Great minds think alike i guess aha :P

  • Health of snake > appearance if enclosure

  • @Calaverafrost What makes you think she's not in good health? I change the entire bedding and substrate every month and change the water every 2-3 days. If i am willing to devote the time to cleaning it and maintaining it what is the issue? She eats fine and sheds cleanly.

  • wow i really liked it bro...r those artificial plants inder?

  • @micheshawn Thanks man. Nope all the plants in there are real plants i got from a nursery. They are really growing! I need to trim them soon. I need more plants, the humidity is dipping too often.

  • cool man i checked out a couple things that really helped me out, so let me ask u now what kind of pump is it.... hopefully you didnt already say that or i will feel stupid, but i have the same terrarium is you so i might as well use the same pump for a similar setup, if u got one throw a link to it on here, thanks a lot! i hope to have videos of my GTP up soon lol

  • @JEyadig I dont have a link but its your standard aquarium pump around 20 bucks. However, i highly recommend getting a filter pump instead of just a pump. or if u use a pump make sure u can wrap filter media around it and change it often. you dont want brown water like me. or the GTPs defecation in the water. i have to constantly change it. but ur better off with a filter.

  • hey man, what exactly did u do to the bottom of your tank, i see some pieces of tile or plastic in between the layers of dirt and rocks, let me know what u did with that i kinda want to copy your setup with the waterfall and the way the water collects in the bottom corner of the tank

  • @JEyadig Hey man. Im using a common technique that dart frog owners and other paludarium owners keep. Its eggcrate and filter medium. Its called a False bottom. google it online and you should be able to find multiple threads on it. Check out vivarium forms for various ideas.

  • Your vivarium is well set up and looks incredible and you offer a very natural environment and sure your arboreal will be comfortable in it. Really nice video and great set up. Many thumbs up!!! For the pond bury a large deep bowl to keep the water clean. In my huge outdoor snake enclosure I have a filter and pump set up to recycle all the water. It runs off into a reservoir and filters back through the line back into the enclosure.

  • Suggestion to secure your perches. many here in the states use large suction cups and secure a ring on the ends of the perch post to anchor to the suction cups. They really hold well on glass. Silicone just doesn't cut it in a humid area, but the suction cups work great and if you'd like for additional support you can apply a strong adhesive such as super glue but if you use chemicals be sure and allow the enclosure to sit and air out for a couple of days before putting a reptile in it.

  • looks really good.

  • Omg Ian, this is amazingggg : )

Can't wait to see your GTP in it :):):)
