  • I've been playing (overstatement..) the drums for fun for about 2 years now, so I know a tiny bit about drumming and that was quite good, mate!

I actually live near that Guitar Center, if you're in the vicinity too we should go put up Ron Paul signs around Burbank/NoHo sometime.

  • @ThereAreManyLikeIt Yeah, we should. PM me.

  • a bit too scatterbrain for my liking, theres potential there but obviously the judges see what we see. Keep up the drumming :) but dont try so hard, peace bro

  • @krang0117 And what do you see? This unrehearsed solo had more form than ANY of the random playing that night. Guitar Center Drum Offs are notorious for whimsical solos by almost everyone. At least mine had some structure, which I believe in as a principle.

  • Ouch

  • @nortuber Say what?

  • Geddy, you are the drumming savior! It's a shame you didn't win the competition. You have musical talents that I wish I could have.

  • @Hokieman101 Oh well thank you for the kind words.

"I like to play." [Garth-like grin...]

  • Regardless of any crap anyone says buddy.. U ROCK! & U do have major skill.

Wish U would have won brutha

  • @AZMYTHKAMINSKI Thanks very much mate! I felt more like it was a popularity contest more than anything.

  • you took it to serious. Bad mouthing the other contestants on a public form like Youtube was never going to serve you. In fact it says way more about you then it ever will about them. Honestly your playing does have a beginners feel to it. you have no scenes of direction and your ideas are basic.

  • @buddyrichforever I took what too serious? I am not "bad-mouthing" anyone. What is wrong with you? Why are you coming to attack me on my channel? Ran out of grasshoppers to catch?

My playing has a beginner's feel huh? I'm sorry, when everything from my form to my speed to my power to my coordination oozes professionalism you can't make a dumb ass statement like that and not lose all credibility. I made great disclaimers on the description and you've ignored all of them. Troll Attempt: FAIL.

  • Because you are cocky in the description, I'm going to be honest with my criticism: You can play fast, sure. But there is no organization to this solo whatsoever. You seem to go off on random tangents, changing time and feel with no transitions. It's not very fun to listen to.

But I do like the traditional.

  • @watermelonnights I think I already said that in the description. Reread it. And if you saw and heard the other drummers that night you would know they were all beginner-level ability. Check out my other solos on this channel for more uniform performances. And BTW, don't confuse honesty for cockiness. I know what talent is. Just because others play like high-schoolers doesn't mean the person saying so is cocky. Sorry if you don't like the truth, but it's not my problem.

  • :o) i enjoyed it.

  • @sahnie82 Right on... Share what you enjoy! ;)

  • looks like you had fun! :D good job man!

  • @missartist123 It was completely random really. Thanks!

  • @MrDeppness no prob! :D

  • Mike Portnoy :)

  • @dmdollinar08 You know what time it is! ;)

  • AMAZING JOB! ;)

  • @BRIT1003 Got a favorite part?

  • great job, Geddy!! :) remember what Mr. Miyagi said: "win, lose, no matta!"

  • @gjul221 Riiiiiiight....

  • Noticing the Neil Peart influences ;)

Nice solo man, I'm tossing around the idea of uploading one of mine. Lots of Peart going on there too.

You ever watch the John Bonham solo from the Royal Albert Hall show? Not as well put together as Pearts, but in terms of speed and power more impressive. Also, what size sticks do you use? I fly between 7A and 5B depending on the song.

  • @keymaker2112 Go for it! Let's see what ya got! I will look into that Bonham solo. I use 5A Promark and sometimes Vic Firth.

Hope you liked what you saw/heard here in HD! Drum on!

  • WOW! That was amazing!!!

  • @joannalovesrush Everyday. ;)

  • hm... that was hot. :)

  • @diyay You know how I roll hunnie! Snare drum all night long!!!

  • Nice work.

Had you kept the long hair, I think you would have won.

  • @johnnytastetest Oh yeah? Then why didn't it work last year? HA!!
