Thanks for the comments guys! The auction had many classic Anderson TV related toys, Dinky Anderson prototypes, replica models and puppets and then the Reg Hill Collection. This included many photographs and pieces of documentation too but the key pieces were the end title paintings and the FIREBALL XL5 publicity brochure which included Reg Hill and Derek Meddings original art mounted throughout. A truly stunning item easy equalling the Embleton stuff in terms of historic Anderson memorabilia.
As you say, a true fan is looking after this now---- you just cannot overstate how unbelievably good Ron Embleton's work is when seen close up----how could anyone paint that good????
I was at that auction, and great to know this painting ended up in good hands. The colour in Embleton's artwork is still vibrant and dynamic. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely painting there, nice to know that it's being looked after - oddly my favourite is the one on the cover of the booklet, Scarlet buried under the rocks trying to reach the explosives, which is actually a bit boring compared to some of the more action pictures like the snakes, sharks or this one.
Fantastic piece Mart. Deep down I think I still regret deciding to miss the auction!
