Left4Dead: trapping the tank

I was in the Safe room, and a tank spawned in there with me, there were 3 at once, 2 of them killed the other one and then followed me around.

ive actually have trapped a tank in the same safe room, i was running past the tank and my friend locked himself in the saferoom door and there was a horde outside the door so i killed the horde and tryed to get in but he opened it and i was in between wall and door and the tank ran past and kicked his but and i closed the door laughing so hard.

On the xbox, the pistols are just as fast. But if you're playing versus and you're incapped. it goes Super SLOW!! it sucks....
