actually, it does help, not by improveing your aiming or making the ball go faster, but its akin to the kiai in martial arts. it helps your "warrior spirit", if you believe it will help, then it does, at least by improving your state of mind and that's really important in tennis.

@LiberalsSuckCawk you racist jealous or what? you've actually shown that you're the one with no class saying an African American shouts like a Gorilla if you ever listen to her outside the Tennis court she's very gentle in her tone of voice on a side note I think all grunting in Tennis should be banned it's unnecessary and actually Maria Sharapova doesn't make any noises in warm up so why not do the same in the match it doesn't make the ball go any faster.

actually, it does help, not by improveing your aiming or making the ball go faster, but its akin to the kiai in martial arts. it helps your "warrior spirit", if you believe it will help, then it does, at least by improving your state of mind and that's really important in tennis.
i found that as i get tired playing matches, i tend to make a slight kiai sound. it starts really soft and gets louder as i grow tired. like a "grrrr" when i hit the ball.
