How hypocritical of the creator of this propaganda to play the "race card" ( a racists' favorite phrase) to deflect the fact that most racists in America are overwhelmingly conservative, and therefore, members of the Republican party. This video was not made because of outrage about the KKK's actions, it was made to falsely attach racism to the Democratic party. They aren't innocent or without fault either, but anyone can see through this propagandist B.S.

Sir, you are a moron. That is all. "racists in America are overwhelmingly conservative" These are the baseless words of a non-player in the battle of ideas. That is something you made up in your mind, but you do not possess the intellectual acumen to say "I think" or some other qualifier that would make your statement less idiotic. Everything you believe is likely B.S. they day you realize that, you will be wiser than you are now.
The US senator Robert Bryd has been confirmed as an Ex-Klansman and was that for long as you and I been alive. It was the Democrats during the civil war that wanted slavery to continue and was not the first black politicians Republicans during the civil war and antislavery age? Please confirm the name or names of any republican that is a KNOWN or has been a known Klansman. Klansman can not denounce their standings or else they wouldn't be. What about the civil rights movement?
Robert Byrd is a KKK and died a KKK, he's not for you me or anyone else cept for Democrats and do whatever it takes to stay in power... plz people look LOOK at what they want ... they want to stay in power, by dumbing down the low class keeping them on welfare and in sec 8 housing ... they want to keep giving to you cuz they get votes from you and say "MAN THOSE DEMOCRATS ARE AWSOME IM GETTING ALL THIS FOR FREE" ... wake up people and look at whats happening "Democrats are the true KKK" lookitup
There is no evidence to believe that conservatives and republicans would fight for black equality today. It is wrong to say that todays republican party stands with minorities. They label minorities as criminals, vagabonds, and welfare recipients which is extremely racist even by their standards. I think republicans are trying to sugar coat what they stand for now because its so blantantly obivious. The deep south does not vote republican because of civil rights.
Byrd is a prime example of media bias. I remember years ago, Trent Lott was drove out of the senate for complimenting Strom Thurmond, a former segregationist, at his retirement. Yet now, he have nothing but glowing praise for a former KKK Exalted Cyclops, who recruited 150 members and filibustered the civil rights act.
Byrd and Thurmond are essentially of the same ilk. Whereas people are revising Byrd's past now (as they do in most funerals..including Reagan's).....Lott pretty much said and implied that Thurmond's campaign for president and what he stood for then was RIGHT.
"I'm proud to say that my state voted for you....and had you won, we wouldn't have some of the problems we have now" that's what Lott's quote was over 50 years after Thurmond ran for president.
Certainly, Trent inserted his foot into his mouth then. If he truly implied Strom's segregationist platform is debatable, as many politicians of the south couldn't survive without that platform after Truman. Not that I condone that sort of act.
While Byrd was recruiting for the KKK, Strom was working to convict participants in the lynching of Willie Earle in 1947. An act which gained him praise from NAACP and ACLU.
While I agree that Strom was bad, but Byrd was much worse.
I don't think that Trent put his foot in his mouths. He knew full well what he meant and he said it. And there is no wiggle room or debate for the comment that "When you ran...i'm proud to say that my state voted for you and had you WON........we wouldn't have all these problems".
I do think there is debate on his true meaning. One, Trent was a kid when Thurmond ran for president. Two, Thurmond’s position on race was hazy, and it’s probable that Trent wasn’t even thinking about Strom’s opposition to federally enforced desegregation, just as it is probable that he was. He also could have been just saying a nice thing to a retiring man. We don’t know what was going through Tent’s head when he said it. Not to imply that I support what Lott said or did.
One out the hard way, 400 or so more to vote out. Democrats have the ways and means to keep good men and women down. By destroying family cohesion, individual initiative, mentor models, promoting distractions like sex, drugs and derrogatory debased dehumanizing music. Democrats want everything a gray area...no right or wrong...POWER any way they can get it.
I'm glad to see this nigger finally forced out of the senate. This was a piece of shit, who needed to be dethrowned. Now we just have to get rid of alot more piece of shit senators, from both of the party's. There may be alot of things that he did, that others would say were good deeds. However, this man was in office during a time when, our country has went down the tubes into hell. The entire 50 year period he was in office, is the same time period that our country fell from grace. FUCK HIM
Its easy to see who the die hard racists are in these forums. You can apologize for being racist but you CANT apologize for being in the KKK not even for 1 day. If your defending him then YOU are a racist, couldnt be more obvious. Just cause he says hes sorry doesnt make it true, it just means it doesnt work for his political career. You dont go from thinking all niggers should be strung up in trees to" oh wait I was wrong, im sorry, shouldnt of done that." YOU CANT APOLOGIZE FOR MURDER!!!!!!!
Strom Thurmond, former leader of the Ku Klux Klan, became Republican.
And here are some other white southern conservatives who switched to Republican: Jesse Helms, John Patterson, Mills Godwin, Trent Lott.
The Republican party of today represents nothing of the radical left-wing liberal Republican party of Lincoln. In an era where Republican governors are threatening secession and trumpeting states' rights, it is laughable to call the Republican party that of Federal Unionist Lincoln.
"And in more modern times, Klansman David Duke began his career in Louisiana as a Democrat and later switched to the Republican Party..."
"American White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan staged a rally Saturday afternoon in Austin, Texas in support of Republican initiated Proposition 2, a ballot initiative to amend the Texas Constitution, upon which Texans will vote in Tuesday's election."
And I still find it unusual Byrd is still a Democrat. Most other Democratic Klansmen became Republicans.
Whatever. Byrd never committed any acts of terrorism, and he absolutely did not achieve his power through terrorism. Your accusations are based not on crime, but rather on association to criminals.
@nafaidni You really should listen to yourself once in a while. Name one Democrat clansman that became a republican. Oh, you can't because you just make blanket statements with no basis in actual facts. You should just admit, "I nafaidni do not care if a senator was/is a clansman as long as he will vote with my liberal political ideology." That is the truth. But you are right about one thing, I know of no actual crime committed by Byrd. Mere association with criminals makes a "leader" unfit.
@nafaidni "Most other Democratic Klansmen became Republicans."
Bull! Very few left to become republicans over 90% of the democrats who opposed civil rights stayed dems for life. Now if you want to claim that the democrats switched from racists to race baiters then I might agree.
Sorry buddy. Your softball comment doesn't cut it in a world complex ideas. You fail to address the issue, that Robert Byrd used the means of terror. Whether he wanted to achieve segregation, or universal health care, he was willing to terrify innocent people to do it. Second of all, forgiveness is not earned, but I see that you know nothing about forgiveness even though you claim to believe in it. You agree with Robert Byrd's agenda and will support him with whatever weak args you can muster.
Byrd no longer agrees with his former beliefs. If it is not possible to change beliefs, what is America but a slave-raping nation of white supremacists? Or at least the South, anyhow.
Anyway, Byrd only was in the organization for a year. I doubt he did anything worse than camping in the woods wearing a white hood and chanting with some other hicks. If Byrd lynched somebody or something, that'd be different. But he once just joined the KKK for a year, and not much more.
@nafaidni Of course you know that Byrd no longer agrees with his former beliefs because you can read his mind. Of course you know he was only in the organization for one year, because you are the keeper of records for all secret organizations with secret membership lists. Of course you know that Byrd never participated in a lynching, because you were there at every lynching that occurred taking role. It is possible to "change one's beliefs" but a reformed terrorist is still an unfit senator.
You're right! I mean, no one knows that the tea party and modern Republicans aren't still a group of racist states' rightist douchebags! No one knows that the South no longer supports segregation! No one knows that there are no more lynchings in the South! No one knows anything it all! We cannot believe anything anyone says!
And of course, you must disagree with former Confederates serving in the United States and local governments after the Civil War, right?
@nafaidni He was directly or indirectly responsible for deaths. We don't know what he did and covered up, but he recruited people to the Klan and therefore is at the very least an accomplice to murder. You are truly a sick individual. Let us know when you have a tsunami or aids crisis.
@nafaidni Byrd was a klan recruiter when he was in his 20's he filibustered the civil rights act of 64 when he was in his 40's and used the N word on national tv in 2001. The dude was a racist his entire life. He was just another typical racist democrat.
I feel bad for the people who put up comments regarding racism, when the video makes it very clear that it is addressing another issue. Unfortunately these kinds of sheep are the real danger. It would be honest to say, "Yes, he is was a terrorist, but now he is willing to vote my way, and I think it is OK to be a terrorist if the US has waged an illegal war against you." These people should learn to do a little critical thinking.
Abe Lincoln was killed 150 years ago, the Republican party is a completely different party today. Conservatives need to stop using his name like he is one of their own... if they lived in his time they would be dead set agianst him and fighting for the fucking slaveowning confederates
Abraham Lincoln came up with the bill to FREE SLAVES YOU IDIOT! Being that most of the senate and house was republican at the time the bill got past! There was not 1 DEMOCRAT in the house that signed to get the bill pasted! NOT 1! FUCK THE LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Dr. king was not a Republican. This video is bullshit. Yes, Sen. Byrd did belong to the kkk many decades ago and has long since apologized and supported every civil rights issue facing the country today. Blacks vote Democratic because Dems, in principle, stand for and support issues affecting minorities while Republicans simply ignore them.
So minorities are the people lazy enough to need welfare? We're not talking about women who didn't take abortions and have 5 kids, we're talking about the lowest class workers that dropped out of high school and who get government handouts. Latinos are rising in population? Why? even though there are three times more whites, black women take 2x more abortions. What other issues are there?
Affirmative action? Using WPT to increase gas prices?
The republicans dont hate us blacks! Its just that the kkk from the democrat party spreaded through out the both parties for power and to make it easy for them to call republicans racist! The kkk are playing Jeti Mind Tricks to get peoples vote. And thats 1 reason why i didnt vote Obama cause he has a 90% liberal voting record and the kkk has 100% liberal voting record. Sen. Byrd gave Obama a super delegate vote over Hillary(who is a Moterate, NOT a liberal, and way more qualified!)
Dr. MLK WAS A GOP CONSERVATIVE! So was Ray Charles and EVERY other black person before Kennedy started to march with Dr. MLK. Liberal(KKK)Democrats played their Jeti Mind tricks on the people!
This video is BULLSHIT. Its a double contradiction. Racist are to protect their own. If Byrd was King of the KKK, he would be killings sand monkeys left and right. Not us. How stupid are you? I'm from WV and trust me I know for a fact...this guy don do shit. and hasnt done shit for years.
New Orleans had the highest crime ratio, largest welfare state in the USA history. Democrats drove around town, every year to pick up blacks to vote in elections in buses. Every year, every election, but when the storm hit? No buses. fend for yourself., as everyone should. Then, be our victims for the world to see. Poor them, ...ah send more money to us.
it's called the lesser of two evils, Which today once agfain is irrelevant, as Greg Palast has proven, they do not count our votes anyway..Our voting rights have to be renewed by Congress every 25 yrs, just came up for renewal in 2007, Now you have DIEBOLD
Did you know Woodrow Wilson formed the KKK while he was the President? Watch Greg Palast on google video Stealing the Election...
Excuse Ms. But Dr. King was a Republican! Lincoln? = Republican. The reason black people vote for Democrats here is because they are stupid. Not being as an insult but as what they are told and fed from the media. The Democrats KEEP them in poverty with their empty promises. New Orleans used to be run and controlled by Democrats for years.
I know man, it's a good thing that Republican Bobby Jindal actually became governor. Most people become poor due to their inability to save money, invest properly, and also because they never had a strong foundation as a child; and they expect the government to support them for their those intentional inabilities. Those are usually Democrats. I found out that the majority of Democratic voters have the most credit card debts, take out constant refinancing loans etc.
Good for you "Republican." I happen to be registered as one, unfortunately. I have to doubt your commitment to "republican" ideals when you would call me a disgrace for pointing out that someone used terrorism to get where they are. He would not have gotten 49 years without terrorism. For you to defend one of the most liberal members of the senate and say you are a republican shows me you are probably just a liar trying to back your pathetic argument.
Hry dude, you need a po screen on your mic!! Do u know what that is? It is a screen to prevent that annoying "pop" you here when you use letters like P and T. Also, you have way too much bass tone on your voice and can use some treble to even it out.The voice recording is HORRIBLE!! Oh..what the hell are you talking about anyway?!........BARBARIC!! BARBARIC!!!!BARBARIC!!!!
Nice try on the melodramatic filmmaking. Sorry to say the end result is laughable. Most annoying part for me - as if it weren't bad enough to see the catchword "terrorist" driven into the ground by politicians and the media - used to describe anyone whose goals clash with so-called U.S. interests - now we're going to start using the word retroactively? The KKK were terrorists? Who else then? The Romans? The Visigoths? Get over it.
RE: Your title...and Prescott Bush was factually involved in financing manufacture of war equipment in Nazi Germany and factually involved in the collapse of the stock market in '29 and obscenely profited from it. So what's your point? This man is almost 90 years old, he grew up in the racist south. What's surprising about this? Points for the immediate tag as "terrorist", though. Nice touch.
pfft kkk? terrorists? back then they were part of the fucking goverment but they were rejected later the 1970's but they remained to stay together. there not terrorists, the kkk are simply a failed abandoned goverment project. Now there just a gang of misunderstood devients.
Nope, KKK there is no evidence to suggest the leadership KKK was ever elected through a vote of every elegible voter (or person who should have been allowed to vote). The KKK was legitimated as a response governmental disenfranchisement but that's still no excuse for terrorism. Nice try though. And no four letter words for no reason in Blackbloggers domain.
Eric Pianin WaPo Sun Jun 19 '05 P A01: Byrd involved w/ Klan throughout 40s not merely for 2 or 3 years...Byrd letter dated 1946 long after Byrd claimed he had lost interest in Klan. "The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia" Look it up. dubdubdub dot washingtonpost dot com /wp-dyn/content/article/2005/06/18/AR2005061801105 dot html
Popular stereotype (promoted by Democrats). The democrats represent the 'poor and downtrodden'. Elections are won by having as many people as possible voting for your party. So, if they really are the 'Party of the Rich', the Republicans need to do things that enable as many people as possible to become and stay rich.
What do the democrats need to do to keep as many people as possible voting for them?
Blackblog, your narrator clearly has no understanding of the Constitution. President Pro Tempore goes to the eldest member of the majority party, regardless of what other members think...Unlike....
Actually you should have read the constitution before posting.Aricle I sec. 3 says that President Pro Tempore is an elected position. Byrd gets it through the Senatorial RULES which the Dems enacted. You feebly try to refute a small point from my organization and neglect the point that we have a former terrorist in the line of succession. The constitution says what it says, not what you want it to say on any particular day. Do some reading before you bring this week stuff to the Blackblogger.
Silly knee-jerk lefty. The issue is not "black." It is terror. This is why Democrats never win unless the repubs are screwing up (frequent). They don't address the issue. I never said the Democrats were anti-black. I said that they would support a terrorist if he held their ideas. You have proven my point by trying to deflect my critisism of terrorist organization member Byrd. BTW - Byrd voted against the civil rights act too.
Thank you for making this video.I wish Byrds Democratic supporters would see this.I wish liberal blacks would also watch this.In fact more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Bill of 1964 than Democrats did.One of those Democrats who tried to kill the bill was that bastard Byrd.Rot in Hell Byrd.
My ideology? I dislike Byrd and the Klan. That doesn't mean I'm going to diverge from the facts for my own reasons, like you seem to be doing, "blackblog".
Why don't you just admit that you do not care if someone is a former terrorist as long as they support your ideology. "...no evidence to sugges..." what a pitiful (and poorly spelled) argument. Byrd joined a terror group and spent years as a leader and a recruiter. It does not matter if we can't prove he actually burned a cross on some former NY resident's yard. HE USED THE KKK TO SUPPORT HIS CAREER, THE KKK IS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. END OF DISCUSSION.
Robert Byrd is representative of the whole Democratic party only in that Democrats obviously don't mind running a "former" terrorist if they think he can win. If the republicans run an admitted former terrorist, and honor him/her with a high position, that is up to them. People who use terror tactics to achieve their goals have no place in leadership in a free society. It is OK to forgive a former terrorist, but not to allow them to lead.
Interesting how the Republican Party is the new party of the south. I wonder what party all those terrorists migrated to. What a pathetic attempt at propoganda. "The most powerful man in the world"??? That's laughable. Suggesting that an old coot like Byrd is representative of the Democratic Party is no different than suggesting one like Ted Stevens represents the R's.
The NAACP awarded Byrd a 100% rating in its 108th Congressional score card, based on what they consider his pro-civil rights votes in that particular session of Congress.
Louis Farakan is in the NAACP and some say he is a terrorist. What does the NAACP have to do with a war on terror. They have provided no constructive leadership in that effort of which I am aware.
How hypocritical of the creator of this propaganda to play the "race card" ( a racists' favorite phrase) to deflect the fact that most racists in America are overwhelmingly conservative, and therefore, members of the Republican party. Also, Bush is called the "most unpopular president in modern times."
What about pre-modern?
Abraham Lincoln TOOK away habeus corpus AND jailed dissenters. Also, he continued an UNPOPULAR war that people just wanted to end.
Sounds familiar?

Abraham Lincoln came up with the bill to FREE SLAVES YOU IDIOT! Being that most of the senate and house was republican at the time the bill got past! There was not 1 DEMOCRAT in the house that signed to get the bill pasted! NOT 1! FUCK THE LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY!

Dr. king was not a Republican.
Ejvs87 3 years ago
You're being racist to minorities then.
Using WPT to increase gas prices?

i mised the part were it made that claim.
just like i mised the part were republicans started hatin black folks.

Sen. Byrd gave Obama a super delegate vote over Hillary(who is a Moterate, NOT a liberal, and way more qualified!)
bigstU25 3 years ago

WildBill707 4 years ago
If any of this is true, then why do black people keep voting for Democrats?
WildBill707 4 years ago
it's called the lesser of two evils, Which today once agfain is irrelevant, as Greg Palast has proven, they do not count our votes anyway..Our voting rights have to be renewed by Congress every 25 yrs, just came up for renewal in 2007, Now you have DIEBOLD

WildBill707 4 years ago
I know man, it's a good thing that Republican Bobby Jindal actually became governor. Most people become poor due to their inability to save money, invest properly, and also because they never had a strong foundation as a child; and they expect the government to support them for their those intentional inabilities. Those are usually Democrats. I found out that the majority of Democratic voters have the most credit card debts, take out constant refinancing loans etc.

Robert Byrd's neighbor: "Bob, I've got a Negro in my family tree."
Byrd: "That's too bad, Billy Joe."
Neighbor: "Don't worry, Bob, we just strung him up this morning."
"Lord of the Rings" disappointed Byrd. The White Wizard never became the Grand Wizard.
The song "In a White Room" also disappointed Byrd when he learned it wasn't about a whites-only room.
Byrd's mentor was Theodore Bilbo. Look him up.

Nice touch.

The panthers still exist (in name anyway) their current leader is Malik Zulu Shabbaz formerly of the Nation of Islam.
blackblog 4 years ago
pfft kkk? terrorists? back then they were part of the fucking goverment but they were rejected later the 1970's but they remained to stay together. there not terrorists, the kkk are simply a failed abandoned goverment project. Now there just a gang of misunderstood devients.
qbertisfun007 5 years ago
Nope, KKK there is no evidence to suggest the leadership KKK was ever elected through a vote of every elegible voter (or person who should have been allowed to vote). The KKK was legitimated as a response governmental disenfranchisement but that's still no excuse for terrorism. Nice try though. And no four letter words for no reason in Blackbloggers domain.

How about that Trent Lott?
tp719 5 years ago
Actually you should have read the constitution before posting.Aricle I sec. 3 says that President Pro Tempore is an elected position. Byrd gets it through the Senatorial RULES which the Dems enacted. You feebly try to refute a small point from my organization and neglect the point that we have a former terrorist in the line of succession. The constitution says what it says, not what you want it to say on any particular day. Do some reading before you bring this week stuff to the Blackblogger.

Right on.Don't forget more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Bill of 1964 than Democrats did.

They aren't terrorists, they are patriots.
metalhellbilly 5 years ago
Silly knee-jerk lefty. The issue is not "black." It is terror. This is why Democrats never win unless the repubs are screwing up (frequent). They don't address the issue. I never said the Democrats were anti-black. I said that they would support a terrorist if he held their ideas. You have proven my point by trying to deflect my critisism of terrorist organization member Byrd. BTW - Byrd voted against the civil rights act too.
blackblog 5 years ago
Thank you for making this video.I wish Byrds Democratic supporters would see this.I wish liberal blacks would also watch this.In fact more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Bill of 1964 than Democrats did.One of those Democrats who tried to kill the bill was that bastard Byrd.Rot in Hell Byrd.
BobReidy 5 years ago
My ideology? I dislike Byrd and the Klan. That doesn't mean I'm going to diverge from the facts for my own reasons, like you seem to be doing, "blackblog".
"...no evidence to sugges..."
That was a typo, not a grammar issue.
bamafader 5 years ago
There is no evidence to sugges that Byrd ever committed terrorist acts.
bamafader 5 years ago
Why don't you just admit that you do not care if someone is a former terrorist as long as they support your ideology. "...no evidence to sugges..." what a pitiful (and poorly spelled) argument. Byrd joined a terror group and spent years as a leader and a recruiter. It does not matter if we can't prove he actually burned a cross on some former NY resident's yard. HE USED THE KKK TO SUPPORT HIS CAREER, THE KKK IS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. END OF DISCUSSION.
blackblog 5 years ago
I agree. With that sheet on his head it would be hard to pick him out in the crowd.
Kabulkid 5 years ago
Robert Byrd is representative of the whole Democratic party only in that Democrats obviously don't mind running a "former" terrorist if they think he can win. If the republicans run an admitted former terrorist, and honor him/her with a high position, that is up to them. People who use terror tactics to achieve their goals have no place in leadership in a free society. It is OK to forgive a former terrorist, but not to allow them to lead.
blackblog 5 years ago
Interesting how the Republican Party is the new party of the south. I wonder what party all those terrorists migrated to. What a pathetic attempt at propoganda. "The most powerful man in the world"??? That's laughable. Suggesting that an old coot like Byrd is representative of the Democratic Party is no different than suggesting one like Ted Stevens represents the R's.
boyboy142 5 years ago
The NAACP awarded Byrd a 100% rating in its 108th Congressional score card, based on what they consider his pro-civil rights votes in that particular session of Congress.
bamafader 5 years ago
Louis Farakan is in the NAACP and some say he is a terrorist. What does the NAACP have to do with a war on terror. They have provided no constructive leadership in that effort of which I am aware.
