That is not true.

It was a black man by the name of Anthony Johnson who started slavery in America.

Before A. Johnson there was 'indentured servitude' (I/S) or otherwise known as temporary slavery.

Indentured Servitude is where one contracts him/her-self for a set amount (usually 4-7 years) of time to a plantation owner and after that contract has been furfilled the plantation owner releases the person (I/S) with their freedom and gives them a plot of land of their own.

Mr. A. johnson had sold himself as a (I/S) to a plantation owner in the colony of Virginia.

Johnson was released after his contract was up and was given a plot of land of his own.

By law of contract the 3 were arrested. In court, 2 of the (I/S)'s were given extended contract times of 4 years.
