  • Wow Mwedzi! I've just checked in on you for the first time in AGES!! I was with you when you had 2 videos on your page, then you disappeared for ages, then today I started sorting through my subscriptions and decided to have a look and see what your up to and your hair is amazing! We have the same type of hair and I'm so pleased it has flourished and you are finding it easier. If you can do it, then so can I. Thank you for the beautiful turn out your hair has had.

  • w o w

i can't even elaborate. i'm such a mwedzi stan! (glad you're making more videos :o)

  • freaking gorgeous hair

  • Your hair is beautiful! What products do you use on your hair? What do and did you do to it? I would love to know. Thank you!

  • @sshelawn Thank you. There is another video I did that has my regimen in it and also my favorite products. Thanks!

  • I love how light and floaty your hair is, beautiful

  • Amazing growth! Terrible thing about the tangle teaser.

  • Aw girl you look so pretty! You are really scaring me about the tangle teezer. I'll have to watch carefully now for changes in my hair. For some reason I think I remember you saying you live in ATL if that is true would you mind sharing the name of the person who pressed your hair for you?

  • @alsaxon Thank you. If the Tangle Teezer is working for you, do continue to use it. Only pay close attention and watch out for any damage.

I do not live in Atlanta. I live in the DMV region. The person who straightened my hair is also on youtube. Her name is Reniece. Best.

  • Gorgeous hair :)

  • OMG. your hair grewwwwww like crazy since 08. How long have you been growing your natural hair? I've been natural since 07 and I'm just now hitting APL :(

  • @ItehBitehVeggie Hi! I've been trying to grow my hair since 2008. It's hard for me! I suffer many small setbacks, but just keep keeping on. :) The only advice I have is to comb or brush infrequently.

  • Sorry to hear about your setback with the TT! I noticed small broken hair after 3 uses... so I stopped using it immediately. I was so disappointed because like you said, it is excellent for detangling (+ removing shed hair) and cut my detangling session in half!

What tool do you plan to use for detangling now? I don't mind detangling with just a wide tooth comb but that just won't work for removing all my shed hairs.

  • The TT is a great detangling tool. I hope it doesn't damage your hair, truly. Some people have no problem with it! Sorry about the splits, though. I don't know what to do about those. I always thoght they came from brushes. Don't know why I still used the TT, then, since it's basically a brush.

  • I am saddened to hear about you TT experience. I discovered it a few months ago and LOVE the way it detangles my 4x hair. You are right, it is the only thing that completely removes shed hair, and strangely I have less hair come out when I use it than I ever did with the devil denman. I really hope it's not damaging my hair though, if it has I can't tell. You are lucky to not be split end afflicted. I get them NO MATTER WHAT I do. My hair splits no matter how much moisture and sealing.

  • Your name is Shona for moon :) Are you Zimbabwean? If so you should do a Zimbo tag! There doesn't seem to be much on the YT xxx OOOh and love the hurr! I'm transitioning myself :)

  • @mszvobgo I took my username from Shona, but I'm not Zimbabwean. I did a study abroad there in undergrad. :)

  • What would you suggest to detangle? I hardly detangle (like maybe once a month or so) so I want to definitely avoid the damage.

  • @Jeau7 I use a wide tooth comb to detangle, but I don't know of a really great tool

  • Sorry about the damage caused by the TT; it was bad news for my 4z hair as well. Fortunately, I noticed the damage(breakage and splits) after two sessions. Loved the new hair jewelry!

  • @SexayLayD Thank you so much.

  • @applehead1988 Thank you.

  • Your hair is gorgeous, very thick and healthy looking. Please say it isn't so.....I LOVE the tangle teezer, use it on my daughter's hair, husband's hair, my hair. :-( I've ignored the other negative reports, but if you're having issues, I may have to let it go. I used it just this morning and saw the little broken ends...thought that was normal for me though. I'll just take a break for a little while to see if I notice a difference. Thanks for sharing your experience with it!

  • @levone5121 If it is working for you, use it! Maybe my hair is just too fragile. Just be on the lookout for the splits, especially.

  • I like how it's not flat ironed bone straight, it looks so full and beautiful.

  • @blahblahblahman Thank you.

  • I instinctively knew that Tangle Teezer wasn't for my strands...your hair is absolutely gorgeous nonetheless!

  • @LifeInTheSunshine Thank you.

  • Thanks for the tangle teezer update, I heard it caused splits a while back and my delicate hair just can't afford it with the current splits I have... Sorry you have to go through such a set back. Do know you are still one of my hair inspirations!

  • @TheCoilWhisperer Thank you so much.

  • Thanks for giving us the update and your honest experience with the tangle teezer. I bought it almost 4 months ago and used it once. Nothing happened, but in my mind I felt like it didn't make sense to use something with sooo many teeth packed close together. So, I put it in my tool stash and joined a challenge where only finger tangling is allowed. Since then, a lot of tangle teezer updates have revealed that the teezer is a tease. Lots of breakage reported. I'm using mine on my poodles.

  • gorgeous sister!!!!!!! omg

  • lol - cool.. do you know if your flat-iron stylist is taking any other naturals? I would come down there just to have a gentle hand to straighten my hair - someone like that is hard to come by... (lina40)

  • @okorolina She opens up to take new clients once every few months. But PM me with your location. There's a small chance that you're in an area with one of her apprentices.

  • Just lovely. I like the hair jewelry too!

  • beautiful!

  • I am sure your watchers and subbies would lovvve a general hair care vid on your regimen :)

  • @Stardae I know I should do one, but I just don't feel comfortable yet because my regimen is not rock solid. No one should copy me!

  • Wow! Now I see all that hair behind the pretty buns! Delighted to see an update. Thank you! :-)

  • did you use the TT on dry or damp hair?

i'm really not wanting to give the tangle teezer, but i am noticing mid shaft splits :(. i don't wanna give it up though.

  • @sunshower143 I used it on damp hair. I generally detangle on damp hair before I wash. It's understandable you don't want to give it up. It's a great detangling tool. Just be on the lookout for splits.

  • DANG!! I loved the Tangle Teaser. But my stylist had to cut off 2 inches of my hair too. Ugh, I guess it was the TT. I had splits before but not *that* bad.

  • @Kimshi4242 Really? That's terrible! Sorry for that.

  • Your hair is beautiful! What products do you use in it? Thanks!

  • @heavenwardbound Thank you. I shampoo and condition with Trader Joes's Nourish Spa, and use Kimmaytube's leave in, but with little or no oil. Sometimes I deep condition with Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Treatment.

  • I like your chairs. :)

  • @DiscountPotato Thank you! I reupholstered them myself!

  • Sorry about your experience with the Tangle Teaser. Your hair doesn't look bad and will bounce back.

  • @inoyoo Thank you.

  • make that four balded folks!

  • who dislike this? your hair beautiful and jealous people will always envy what they may never have.

  • @jba10469 Thank you. Maybe they dislike my video quality. Oh well, what can you do?

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • nice girl

  • Thank you for this video! I am such a fan of your hair and I am so glad I could not find the Tangle Teaser anywhere. Your hair is gorgeous! I can't find a stylist who is able to do natural hair close to me, so I will be wearing my hair curly.

  • your hair is my 1 year goal

  • I've had the same experience with the tangle teezer: amazing at first and then the breakage comes.

  • Gorgeous! How often do you plan to straighten.

  • Love it!

  • I love your hair! =)

  • i love it! 3 fools can kick hot rocks barefoot

  • One more thing, "binosusume" has a great yt channel. She has some cool hair tutorials (buns, braids) that I think you may like.

  • Also, can you please let me know what type of iron and what products she used?

You can PM me the answers, if you don't want to list them publicly.

  • I like it, it's so shiny.

Can you please do a reversion video when or after you wash it?

  • love your hair,it imspires mebecause the texture is like mine, i can't wait for that length....i have breakage issues i have to get under control.

  • Hey Mwedzi! Good to see you hair twin! You look fantastic and your hair is just lovely as per usual...keep the vids coming, you`re an inspiration :)

  • Lovely and i miss your old videos

  • I had the same experience with the TT, it left a huge bald spot in the front of my hair and split ends....sorry about ur experience! Beautiful hair tho :)

  • omg so gorgeous and thick!

I've been natural since 2005 and I recently flat ironed my hair for the first time.

  • I used the tangle teezer once and returned it. It's not for fine, dense, long 4b hair.

  • Lol yall kidding me. I don't understand why people hate on other peoples vids. Hating people who are just angry with their lives. Love the hair gurrrrl!

  • Beautiful hair! The Tangle Teezer didn't work for me. :( It was breaking my hair from the giddy-up!

  • Love your hair. I knew there was a reason I did not buy the Tangle Teezer. The noise it made when watching reviews just make me shrek.!

  • So pretty!

  • I loooooove your hair <3

  • Beautiful!

  • I'm sorry the tt broke your hair off-but glad u shared your experience. I was skeptical about the tt from the get go, but I have to admit, it was kinda hard following my instinct when all of yt was singing it's praises. I did buy one, but I only use it for my son's hair. This works great cause although he likes wearing cornrows, he cudn't care less about hair growth, but has little patience for hair care. Your hair is still gorgeous. Best wishes on getting it back to where u want it health wise!

  • Sorry to hear about what to tangle teezer did to your hair. I stopped using it also after reading Curly Nikki's blog. Keep us posted on your recovery, and by the way, the new hair sticks are stunning!

  • @mwedzi,

Your hair is lovely. Thanks for warning us about the tangle teaser.

  • i havent had a good experience with TT either

  • yeah, that's why I will never try tangle teaser. I heard it gives split ends. Very nice length.

  • Beautiful hair!

  • 4th "length check " I have seen...luv it

  • Beautiful hair and love the sticks...!!!

  • Your hair looks lovely. Super thick!

  • so thick and gorgeous!!!

  • Gorgeous!!!! The one dislike is bald headed

  • @LaDominicana2011 two bald headed folks now!

  • @LaDominicana2011 LOL. You guys are funny! I call them salt shakers. Always looking for a way to throw salt in your game. :)

  • u are wonderful. thank u for sharing

  • Same experience with the Tangle Teezer. :( Your hair is still absolutely gorgeous.

  • so loooong and healthy wow
