Beats Um Kolthom?...hahahaha...she wish. Nawal is talented, but any singer can dream till their last breath on Earth to be as influential as Um Kolthum. If she was better than her, she wouldn't sing her songs.

HONESTLY SHE DOES...
1. her voice is very broad and can extend to any musial theme or tone.
2. she looks much better.
3. her songs are amazing and not stupid
and mainly because NAWAL CAN DO ANY TYPE OF SONG/MUSIC
...She sings her songs because people love her songs....I think Asmahan is better than umm koltum...sorry..
NAWAL IS THE BEST...GET OVER URSELF AND UM KOLTUM

get over yourself and learn your music. nawal's time is different than Um Kolthum's. Now it's about who's prettier, who can show more skin, and stay on a bed the longest during a video clip. If you really want to know how well a song is, take out ALL the music and instruments and just read the lyrics. Um Kolthum's music was poetic and had people weep. You just hear the words and get side-tracked. No one has or will ever do that. Facts are facts. Kal Nawal...that's funny.

Nawal can sing um koltum songs better than the original.
Facts are facts. You are right, Times are different. But nawal is not a singer known and famous because she shows her skin. She has been around over 15 years. Um Koltum would not last these times, she would fail. Nawal has a much more better personality and voice.

OK, we're gonna bet...once Nawal gets super old and stops singing for a decade or so, we're gonna see who's songs the newest generation at that time will find more meaningful.
When people ask Najwa Karam to sing for legends, she says, "Mish 3ayb?...NO ONE can fill they're shoes." True, true, very true.
