Eater of Worlds - Corruption Biome Eater of worlds Terraria HERO

There are so many demon altars all over the place now that it's not even funny. In fact I had several in the uncorrupt cave system almost exactly under my original spawn point. I've summoned the Eye of Cthulhu numerous times without ever having to go to the corruption to craft suspicious looking eyes, and I'm not even that far into the game (just gold gear and demonite weapons).

i went there with silver greaves and helmet and copper breastplate beat the eater of worlds and still lived.

its funny since he says this is the place where you need to go to summon bosses but i found a demon altar under my house and i am super far away from and corruption areas so i summoned the eye of cathulu under my house then he whent to the surface and killed all my people D:

@JakeFuckingAlvarez You will need a nightmare pick, or you can buy purification powder from the dryad to change an area to normal stone

wheni 1st played Terraria i spawned right near the corruption and i didnt know any thing so i was just hitting the eater of souls with my copper axe lol

hey, i broke my third shadow orb knowing that i would have to fight the eater of worlds but when i broke it, it said that the eater of worlds has awoken, so i used the magic mirror to get back to my home and when i got back to my home it said that the eater if worlds had been defeated and a dryad even came to town and i didn't even fight the eater of worlds or any other boss. Also for some reason the game randomly said that the eye of chuthulu had awoken as well but it never came either ??

@DSVRC Okay, let me explain this to you ;) the eater of worlds (as of i think patch 1.5) will NOT go outside the corruption, or he will kill himself, and sometimes randomly it does say the eye of cthulu has awoken, but you have to be on the surface to spawn, or maybe, it turned morning (you will never see eye of cthulu in the daylight)

I have a question. I just defeated the eater of worlds. I have a full shadowscale armor a Ball o' Hurt, Nightmare pickaxe, Battleaxe of the night and a vilethorn. Where should I go next? I was in the Hell for a short time, but I got my ass pretty beaten up there. Should I try to defeat Skeletron?
