'll tell you this, this kid is an an absolute monster when he WANTS TO BE. The positives are incredible but man those negatives are pretty bad. when he doesnt feel like making the play or going after the ball carrier, he doesnt have any care in the world. I just feel like the only place he is going to have success is a team like the ravens or steelers. A team that when he gets out of line and is dogging it , someone is going to tell him to step it the f*ck up or get off the feild.

Judging from this video, it doesn't look like Burfict is very good at shedding blocks. That's a huge part of being a good NFL middle linebacker. Look at the USC footage, there's 3 different instances showing him getting manhandled by a USC lineman.

I dunno guys, I see a whole lot of hitting and not a ton of tackling. He tracks plays well, has great backside pursuit and obviously has strong hands (he makes a lot of shoestring tackles) but he doesn't wrap up. He also gets owned by offensive linemen; can't hold his block, can't shed the blocker, often gets driven several yards downfield...I'm not sold on him cracking the first round...

The oregon and the usc game are from the beginning of this season and the stanford game is from last year. This video fails to show the second half of the '11 season where he disappeared and played like a schmuck. I was a huge fan but the guy is a bust.

@mikeant2181 As an Eagles fan, I hope not. Watch the video again and look for instances where Burfict has to shed a block from an o-lineman. In the USC game, I counted 3 times when he was manhandled by an o-lineman. Maybe he can, but this footage shows otherwise.

some of those penalties were bogus calls and the same will happen to him on the next level the way the NFL is set up now -a-days, but what I great talent i hope he can get with ray lewis and soak up everything he has to teach. my only negative on burfict is he doesn't always hustle. when the play is away he has a tendency to jog.

He's still a kid! The fact that he uses his body in such a physical way already at his age is scary, this guy literally blows shit up. He's only going to get stronger, faster and much much more smarter. In the NFL too much penalty's gets your ass benched or kicked out the game. His coaches are going to tell him to cut the shit out or you'll be benched. Burfict is a HUGE talent and when he truely matures, he might be the best LB in the NFL.

Burflict is great against the run while kuechly will serve better in a zone scheme. Burflict is great at shedding blocks, also has great foot work against blockers.

looks like a future Steeler to me. James Farrior is 36 and we need someone to play the MACK ILB position in our 3-4 defense next to Lawrence Timmons who will takeover the BUCK after Farrior leaves. Pittsburgh unarguably have had the greatest LB's to ever play so this kid can get even better.

@TGRTE Burfict will probably be taken in the 1st round probably be around 6-12 Bleacher Report believe Kansas City will want Riley Reiff but they have him at Miami and Kansas City picking Burfict for their first pick. He does remind me alot of James Farrior and he would be a good Steeler but I think he'll be gone when the Steelers are up. The Steelers will have the 24th pick

burfict is a much, much, much better tackler than anyone the eagles have on the roster right now. we need a punisher, someone who plays really physical. middle linebacker is our biggest need.

Burfict's speed is very impressive for a player his size. But eithe you've never seen Lewis in his younger days or have no idea what you're talking about because he was faster than Burfict at Miami and earlier in his career at Miami. He's had good d-line's in front of him for most of his career but that still doesn't detract from the countless great plays he's made.

To call this guy the next Ray Lewis is asinine. Go back and look at Ray Lewis' stats in college (presumably, most of you numbnuts comparing them were an itch in your daddy's pants). RAY LEWIS DOMINATED college football games... games that were the highest level (at the time, the U was THE team to play). And he OWNED games... he'd have 15-20 tackle games... basically, he didn't skip a beat in the pros. This Burfect... the main reason you hear about him is because his mouth.

Kuechly is a slightly better coverage LB but isn't as quick or as strong as Burfict, especially in run defense.
