can you help, i added 3 FL keys and the layer, i layed down a short pattern on the pian roll for the layer but when i pressed play nothing...no sound came out. When i went to set the layering for the children it said "no channel selected, This layer will be libnked to nothing" what am i doing wrong?
Hey, I'm trying to record my vocals as I listen to my beat. Is this impossible in FL studio? I don't want to record both, I just want to record my voice.
all you need is a microphone to record your voice and its possible to record your voice only, just dont play the beat if you dont want to record the beat...
I thought I had a pretty good grasp of the Arpeggiator, but after watching this, I realize I probably don't use it nearly enough to have it nailed - you definitely have it nailed. Good job.
i want to make one with a synth i was told u make it like this ---> u make each knote u put down like 1 squere n copy n put it 1/2 bar over up a octave can u im not really understandin can u make a tutorial if ud like or u explain it bit better
First, you make a mixer effect that has a control output, such as a formula controller, peak controller, or XY. (best if you rename it too). After that, right click on a knob, fader, or button, and choose "link to controller".
Choose the new controller you made (you might have more than 1 option), and then begin tweaking the controller to see the knob/fader/button adjust to the given value. Works well with LFOs, which cycle back and forth at a chosen speed.
dude you are the shiznit, I would pay to learn personally how to do all the stuff you know how to do...Where or how did you learn to do all of this? I've been only making beats about 7 1/2 months but most of the new stuff I know i learned from your tutorials
I started with FL and Reason, not so much to make beats, but to learn music. FL Studio is my weekly classroom (sometimes daily) and I share my findings here.
I think one of the few ways FL studio could get better at this point is if they included a Piano Roll for the arp so that you could sequence a riff in instead of just having to use the preset ascending/descending scales.. then you could lock & transpose like with a keyboard workstation...
I agree, although many of the VST instruments I use have this function. Also, you can set the scale type to "Auto", which will play a calculated arpeggio based on the one or more keys you play as chords.
Yes! Certain VSTs have this feature (FM8, Absynth, ToxicIII, and to a less precise degree, sytrus. I would like to see that, or at least better chord/scale guessing in "auto" mode.
No doubt! Use a mixolydian or pentatonic scale for awesome effects. This is a cool way to do it, yeah? It seems to work well with pretty much any stringed instrument.
Great tutorial, helped me with my drum and bass piece!

Is there any way to arpeggiate a chord just once, as if it was written with the squiggly arpeggio line on sheet music?

How did you create FL Keys? First part of the damn video, and you used, what seems to be, a shortcut key. Good job.

@xAE7x Channel>Add One>FL Keys. alternatively, just look through the project browser. It'll be there.

do you think you could name a couple of those instruments? i wonder if i could use them as a midi out
d3p3ch3mod3 4 years ago
They plug right into FL Studio as a channel. VST compat.
ToxicIII, FM8 (real quality), and sytrus, of course, but sytrus isn't very "precise" with semitones.
AcePincter 4 years ago
oh yeah i forgot about toxic 3... they really need to give the sytrus envelopes a piano roll too instead of just stairs lol
