  • Great tutorial, helped me with my drum and bass piece!

  • Is there any way to arpeggiate a chord just once, as if it was written with the squiggly arpeggio line on sheet music?

  • How did you create FL Keys? First part of the damn video, and you used, what seems to be, a shortcut key. Good job.

  • @xAE7x Channel>Add One>FL Keys. alternatively, just look through the project browser. It'll be there.

  • I have used fl studio for almost 1 year. and i thought i know it well. i actually know no shit ;(

  • Hey, I'm trying to record my vocals as I listen to my beat. Is this impossible in FL studio? I don't want to record both, I just want to record my voice.

  • download audacity. its a freeware for mac and pc.

  • for sure...put headphones on and in a mixer track you choose input (right corner of mixer "in").

  • all you need is a microphone to record your voice and its possible to record your voice only, just dont play the beat if you dont want to record the beat...

  • nice beat at the beggining!

  • wow mang seriously this is some cool stuff really really cool...good job on this tutorial thanks for posting this appreciate it!

  • I thought I had a pretty good grasp of the Arpeggiator, but after watching this, I realize I probably don't use it nearly enough to have it nailed - you definitely have it nailed. Good job.

    Your explanation is comprehensible.

  • this is the most advanced totorial that I ever seen about FL. Awesome technique. Nice tut

  • Noob question, how do I turn the arp on? It just says off.

  • Click on of the directions to the right of off.

  • is the arp. present in older fruityloops programs? I'm currently using Fruityloops 3.4

  • You really need an upgrade, man.

  • yeah i know Dx...

  • well if you know how to use torrents you can get the latest version (8) and a crack so it wont be a demo. : )

  • ace you are the best bro for real men

eyy ace where can i get the fl keys i just got my fl and it dindt brig it with it

  • You do that.

  • thanks dude =D

  • how do you link buddy im confused at that part :/

  • First, you make a mixer effect that has a control output, such as a formula controller, peak controller, or XY. (best if you rename it too). After that, right click on a knob, fader, or button, and choose "link to controller".

Choose the new controller you made (you might have more than 1 option), and then begin tweaking the controller to see the knob/fader/button adjust to the given value. Works well with LFOs, which cycle back and forth at a chosen speed.

  • thanks man, that really helps :P

  • Awesome as usual!.

  • dude you are the shiznit, I would pay to learn personally how to do all the stuff you know how to do...Where or how did you learn to do all of this? I've been only making beats about 7 1/2 months but most of the new stuff I know i learned from your tutorials

  • I started with FL and Reason, not so much to make beats, but to learn music. FL Studio is my weekly classroom (sometimes daily) and I share my findings here.

  • I think one of the few ways FL studio could get better at this point is if they included a Piano Roll for the arp so that you could sequence a riff in instead of just having to use the preset ascending/descending scales.. then you could lock & transpose like with a keyboard workstation...

  • I agree, although many of the VST instruments I use have this function. Also, you can set the scale type to "Auto", which will play a calculated arpeggio based on the one or more keys you play as chords.

  • do you think you could name a couple of those instruments? i wonder if i could use them as a midi out

  • They plug right into FL Studio as a channel. VST compat.

ToxicIII, FM8 (real quality), and sytrus, of course, but sytrus isn't very "precise" with semitones.

  • oh yeah i forgot about toxic 3... they really need to give the sytrus envelopes a piano roll too instead of just stairs lol

  • Yes! Certain VSTs have this feature (FM8, Absynth, ToxicIII, and to a less precise degree, sytrus. I would like to see that, or at least better chord/scale guessing in "auto" mode.

  • holy shit, i feel like a fucking rockstar when i use this on the slayer.

  • No doubt! Use a mixolydian or pentatonic scale for awesome effects. This is a cool way to do it, yeah? It seems to work well with pretty much any stringed instrument.

  • Ace is the man.

  • smack your lips alot man...

  • Yep. It's because I got such mad beatboxing skills. And because I drink a lot of coffee and not enough water.

  • lol im just messing i liked the vid learn how to use the arpeggiator

  • thanks for sharing Ace.

  • great video again, im with you on your journey mate. thanks for sharing your grey matter
