  • Much respect, but, English just doesn't sound wright, when it comes to Eastern Christianity.

  • May God bless you.

  • Wonderfull!

  • Great video.

Was that Matushka Frederica in the background?

  • I grew up Roman Catholic and was familiar with Gregorian Chant. However, when I heard Byzantine Chant, I was absolutely enthralled! Now that I am becoming Orthodox one of the things I really want to do is learn more about this type of chant, and perhaps do it at a Divine Liturgy someday. There's something about Orthodox chanting that resonates with my soul unlike any other form of spiritual music expression.

  • I'd say that there is one small correction I must make. The "middle eastern sound" isn't something Ottoman Turks brought over. THAT is the sound of Orthodox chant and the Church which itself began through the Middle East, Greece, Balkans etc. It is the Muslims who actually incorporated Orthodox aspects into their religion. Turkey's culture itself is more Roman (Byz) and Persian (From the Seljuks) than anything else. Ranting too much. Wonderful video!
