What a pain in the balls, I've tried for 2 hours with the screw driver and can't seem to locate the latch behind the seat! Funny thing is, I can feel it with my hand behind the seat but can't get leverage to get the seat to move! Dammit man!
I just want to let you know i've been trying to get that backseat off since I bought my truck august '10 and I've tried several tutorials and have never been able to get it to pop up. Then today I saw your video and thought I would give it one last try and what do you know after about 20 minutes I had the seat popped up! Words cannot describe how thankful I am that you helped me get this seat off. I can finally gave my code without paying ford $50. And thanks to your other vid i changed the code
That is a great video, the tech manual on this car is so nondescript. Thanks man, you saved me a couple hours, and gave me an excuse to get a few new tools (t40 &t50).
Thanks for the video. I just purchased the keyless entry handle for my 06, do you know what I need to do to install it. I know how to get the old handle out just not sure one wiring.
Great Video. and for your information if you did not know. when out side truck you can lock all doors by pressing 7/8 and 9/0 buttons at the same time together. and when you enter your code it unlocks the drivers door, if you then hit the 3/4 button within a few seconds it will unlock the rest of the doors. On cars its the same , also on cars you can enter your code then hit the 5/6 button and your trunk will pop open.
@knockoutu these steps will have to be done within 10 seconds........1.enter factory code 2.then press 1 3. then enter you own personal 5 digit code then i believe the locks with lock and unlock there ya go ill confirm this tomm. and let you know
Your video is great - alas I am not able to perform the process the way you do it. I spent almost two hours and I feel like I am finding the right spot but no matter how hard I push, the seat won't raise.
@chibbert1246 did you make sure the t50 seatbelt bolt is removed? if so it might help to push down on the seat as you push in on the clip then try to lift the seat and also make sure your on the inside of the latch and that your using a long enough flat head screw driver
@usc5299 this video was really helpfull and yes i had to push down on my seat then push locking tab in then pull my rear seat up and it poped right out. this took me about 30 min. start to finish. thanks you againe usc5299 i looked up how to do this several other places and they all kept telling me to look under my dashboard well after several times of no luck i gave up intell i saw your video so THANK YOU

@hiramdawg try pushing down on the seat while pushing in with the screw driver then while pushing in lift up on the seat and see if that helps

OK figured it out just make sure top clips are in place and drop seat down and snaps back in. Thanks worked great now have my code.

If you ziptie those plastic clips shut (the pressed back position) you never have to mess with them again. Just unbolt the seat and remove

This was really helpful. Best answer I found anywhere. It's a little hard because it's the first time and that is pretty normal for any procedure.
After getting the hang of undoing the latches it was easy.
BTW you can lift the grey carpet up over that bracket if you remove the snap in holders first.
