I usually use the predator missile, when the waves starts, then i use it to

blow up the vehicles and with luck, to kill many oponnents

My biggest tip for doing this mission on Veteran is to use the predator missles quick during the beginning so you can take out the cars that hame like 6 or 7 people in them. The cars only come in the later waves though.
