listen, its not the BEST. the locking mechanism is at the front and the blade is attached to a rubber band which is attached to the back. when you flick your arm the rubber band allows the blade to slide foward thus locks at the front. so wen you flick your arm when the blade is already out, it lets the lock go, and the rubber band makes it spring back... its the easy way guys, this guy dont need to upload a "TUTORIAL", THIS AINT HIDDEN IF PEOPLE SUSS IT OUT STRAIGHT AWAY.

Yeah this is the 'best way' to do one of these blades. I understand what you mean by best. The only way to make it retract AND extend automatically without inertia(To overcome the retract spring) would be an overly complicated battery operated design. Auto retract is much more realistic in my opinion that the auto extend versions all over youtube.
