omg you are the best!!!! you sing it just like my voice teacher wants me to, im supposed to be practing but i couldnt get it right thanks a bunch!!!!!!!
i loved it....you are helping me out big time. i am very concerned about my recital this coming weekend. I am a musical theatre baby and i don't know why but this literature is hard for me. but you are helping me big time. Thank you so much! :-)
man you just saved my life you sing right on key and i really needed help with my solo and ensemble song cause my contest is in like two weeks thanks! so much!
very awesome =) im definatly sigging this for my solo this year(Feb.13th)
my only questions are, how did this get recorded if you arnt supposted to have cameras or any recordeing devices in the room? what did you get on the solo? and where was this at(school, city, state)?
Well, we probably live in different states and so the rules may differ. Not sure. But I know that recording devices weren't prohibited when I sang. I got a 1, or a superior, rating the first time I sang then, as I was singing in the saprano catagory and there were so many of us that they had to have 2 different judges, I went to a "sing off" of sorts between the top 3 sapranos selected by each judge.
Pretty good. You need bigger breaths, from your diaphragm (like said before me), it will give you a more full sound and better tone. You need to up the maturity so it sounds better, round out your mouth. Also, the song sounds better ligato rather than stacatto. But, ya know, not bad. 7.5/10.
I agree with the breath support problem. You need to take big breaths with your diaphragm. All your notes should also be supported with that same spot in your body. Watch your vowels on E.... it's more of an e like in tether. When said together is E and than il so just watch that.
Thank you for posting this! Like a few on here, I'm singing it in my singing lessons, so had to find an example of how this one goes. Others I found weren't what I was looking for. Good starting out! Thanks again! =)
the written decoration notes in the second verse(star lon) are really bad, I don't know why they were arranged that way but they create major 2nd dissonance with the piano, best left out IMO. You stop your breath a lot, are you taking in too much air? You never stop your breath in an 8th note run. Also you breath in the 3 bar "d'amore", breathing in the middle of a word is basically a sin, Same thing with the 3 bar "vago". Breathing problems, not enough energy, but otherwise you made it through.
If you analyze that passage as written, you will see that the melody with the piano chords creates horrible dissonance(Ma 2nds), so it just sounds bad to me when done with the decoration notes. The only singing mistakes I noticed were obvious breathing problems as stated, breathing in the middle of words and 8th note runs, which is just plain bad. My guess is you overbreath and run out of air too fast, happens to the most of us. You could speed the song up a bit to avoid those problems.
Thanks! Ya, I knew most of the stuff about the Italian but I learned the pronunciation incorrectly and then had to change how I was doing a lot of stuff just before I sang, so ya. But Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for finally posting a good quality version (and singer) for this song. I have to sing it for my vocal class and I wanted to look it up but I couldn't find it anywhere.
BEAUTIFUL!

Are you saying that it's bad the way I sang it or the way it's written?

I sang this song at my Solo Ensemble Contest too! You did a great job! That high G was fabulous!
Work on your Italian a bit.
1.) Most "O"s at the end of a word sound more like an "aw" sound.
2.) Everytime you see the curly looking E, like in the words É d'amore, it sounds like "eh" and does not end in a pure "ee" sound.
3.) A double "t" like in "diletto" is a stopped t, where you make a very noticeable gap between the two "t"s.
Your shoulders also hunched over at times, watch that.
