From now on, I'll call all opposition towards Herman Cain as "racism". Naturally I don't believe it for a second, but I like to all give these bigoted liberal hypocrities a taste of their own medicine
Racism is the new term for dissidents. Because it is seen as one of the worst violations of social norms, and because most people in this nation are ignorant, it is easy to persecute anyone by calling them racist. It is amazing and glaringly horrifying to see how 80% of the people in America have bought into this two-sided political mind-game.
@college12003 - No, OPEN RACISM is now being rebranded under the name of Tea Partier.
This is the same crowd of people that complain about "political correctness".
They're trying to reframe their unhappiness at not being allowed to openly use racist/bigoted language in polite society as a "free speech" issue..
They subvert and bastardize the language of patriotism and freedom by using it to dress up their racism and hatred and try to pass it off as something else.
@college12003 - If the playing field WAS level and the other runners didn't have a 5 mile head start while everyone else was forced to wait and grit their teeth, then you might have a point, instead of just exposing yourself as a racist, always crying about "reverse-racism' and railing against "politically correct" speech (racist speech).
@college12003 - And worse, if you are a dissident, you're a dissident against a more intellectual, educated, accepting, free, pluralized, supportive and progressive society.
You're literally advocating for economic and social Darwinism, White supremacy, bigotry, religious ignorance, corporate oligarchical governance and authoritarianism.
@morpheusxnyc Hey Morph.. Let me tell you something about the "intellectual, educated, accepting, free, pluralized, supportive, and progressive society." Did you know that if you are a minority you are given rapid application status in most graduate programs? Did you know that you don't have to pay most of the application fees if you are a minority? Did you know that there are often full-funding scholarships for minorities for graduate school? Tell me more about how held back minorities are...
@college12003 - Alright. Tell you what... Let minorities control 99% of the government, corporations, power structures, etc, where Whites are discriminated against as a matter of course and then give Whites all the affirmative action they want.
That's a fair trade by your standards. I'd like to see that world. See how you like the taste of it. :-)
@morpheusxnyc Sounds like your basis for discussion is anger. Everyone reading your rants will see that same fact. I am tired of angry politics. Your path leads to conflict not to equality. equality begins with respect.
@college12003 - No, the basis of my argument isn't anger. It's economic justice. If passion creeps in, so be it. Doesn't invalidate any of my points one bit.
However, it sounds like the basis of your argument is either self-hate, Stockholm Syndrome or White supremacy.
Point blanc, if you're a person of color or a non-wealthy White then aligning yourself with conservatism/Republicans/Tea Party is tantamount to a mouse voting for cat.
Those groups work AGAINST your interests. Why help them?
@college12003@college12003 - In a race, if runner A is held back while runner B is given a 15 lap head start, is that a fair race? If you then spot runner A an extra lap or 2 does that make up for the other 13? Is that justice?
You're bitching about runner A being spotted an extra lap or two.
It's easy for those with all the access, agency and enfranchisement to look down their noses at those who've been systematically denied the same opportunities for centuries and call them cry babies.
@morpheusxnyc oh one other thing.. Would you be more happy living in the united states, with legal equality now, dealing with the delayed start at the race, or living in Africa?
@morpheusxnyc you see. Life isn't fair. And even though white people in the US and Europe have been bending over backwards trying to make it fair, it seems that people like you just take whatever you can get and demand more. Have you ever considered what kind of long-term effects it has on demanding more from someone who is already complying? Have you ever considered how calling someone racist who is fighting for your legal equality might impact on their view of your cause?

@morpheusxnyc If you care so damn much about equality, then why aren't you out there talking smack about affirmative action programs?

Your version of equality is Jim Crow.
